I also never speak or think of eating such foods as being naughty or being bad. I think of them as making choices. Sometimes I chose to eat more than I should. It is neither a good nor bad choice. It is just a choice.

I can't tell you how many times I have looked in a mirror and been like.... "who the H** is that!! I literally could not recognise myself in pictures for quite a while.

Nope. Sorry. I don't agree. There are no bad foods. There are foods that are calorie dense and dense in nutrients that we need only a little of. But the food in and of itself in not bad. We can and do however make bad choices. Sometimes on purpose. And that's okay too, None of us is perfect.

I used to think I knew enough about portions and healthy food to know that calories were not my problem. I too would argue with people when they gave me advice I didn't like. Then I realised that if I respected them people whose opinions I was asking enough to ask them, then it seemed kinda dumb to not at least give their…

I lived for over 10 years in a house that had virtually no heat in the winter. I only had two 1500 watt space heaters to help keep the chill off the first floor f my home. Most of the time I managed to keep it around 55 in the house in Jan and Feb. There were times when it got down to 39. My bedroom on the second floor had…

Leftovers from a previous night's dinner is usually lunch. Today (and tomorrow) was: Chipotle sweet potato ravioli Zucchini Fresh papaya Yogurt.

This is a very individual choice. But think on this. Why do you need to ask other people if it is okay? Listen to your gut and ask yourself if YOU think this is really a good idea. When it comes down to it if you "cheat" it is only yourself that you are hurting. Do you care about yourself enough to do what you know you…

I don't know. I got mine on Amazon. AS for touching it first. I suspect if I had touched the mat before I bought it I would not have bought it. It took a little getting used to. Those little spikes are pretty sharp. Not so much that they will break skin but for me the first few times I used the mat were really painful. Now…

You don't need to eat on a schedule to lose weight. Eat food you like, Just less of it.

I like to have a hot soak either in the tub or just a foot tub if it is just for me feet. Add 2 cups of Epsom salts to a warm bath or one cup to a foot soak tub. I use my dish washing tub for foot soaks. Epsom salts are inexpensive and do a wonderful job of relieving inflammation and sore muscles. Also get a tennis ball…

I've been using a Fitbit flex since April. Not complaints once I replaced the band with a prettier version that has a normal buckle. :)

That is about what my calorie goal was to lose 2 pounds a week when I first started. I am very active 12-15k steps a day, and weighed in at 276 at the time. I've lost weight. When I started in March, I thought that the goal MFP set for me was a lot. My Dr wanted me to eat 1200 and when I tried I could barely function. I…

I gained 6 pounds over the holidays. I don't feel one bit guilty. It was all delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Got right back to work on Monday. Already down 2 pounds. Just keep on keepin on until Easter. :)

What was your original plan going into the holidays? Maintain current weight if possible. Adjusted my goal to a .5 pound per week loss but allowed myself to go over to maintenance. I planned to fully enjoy all of the goodies but continue to log and keep an eye on things. What did you actually do? Pretty much the above. I…

Okay. Subway has a LOT of very healthy food. You should not have any trouble feeding yourself properly either before, after or at work. Hard as this might sound the thing is, You are choosing not to do what you know you need to do. And you are using your job as your excuse. So stop it. Don't feel like eating breakfast? Eat…

If working at Dominos is a problem start working on a change in career.

So... on this diet do you get to have second breakfast? What this thread needs is some taters. And no... I wouldn't do this diet. It's just silly. Like this thread. Although the thread is at least effective.

Sounds like you are doing it right to me.

The HR has not had time to get to know you yet. Any Fitbit needs a few days before you can really consider it accurate. I would chose one or the other but not both at the same time. Nice to have the option of wearing one on your wrist or just a clip on.

Three days tops for those ingredients. After that you risk food poisoning.

I have a Droid as well and find the water setting by tapping the little blue circle with the + in it on the bottom right corner of the screen. Water is the second button from the top when the selections pop up.

I think it is reasonable to give yourself a little more freedom for the day. Still logging myself but not getting too hung up on the numbers. My personal goal is to not go over maintenance. I have taken it easy more or less since Halloween. Put on about 10 pounds, 5 of which dropped right back off when I tightened up my…

So far pretty much a normal day. (If you really want to know what I ate, my diary is public) I will go over today's goal, mainly because I am not as active as usual and I am used to eating about 2400 a day so that's probably what I will eat. I came in well under goal several times this week and have lost a couple of pounds…

Brussel sprouts and brown rice are delicious when prepared well. That said eat foods you like. You dpn't have to eat things you don't like... OTOH learning to like veggies ,and prepare them well, means you will be able to have larger more satisfying meals for fewer calories. As for 1300 calories well... if you do no…

Love my flex. I would be lost without it.

I weigh almost every day and yes it can be hard to see the numbers go up instead of down. But I find that it helps me to stay on track when I am having a harder day. Using Trendweight is helpful but then you have to log your weight every day and the act of putting that higher number into print is sometimes a big challenge.…

Personally I would say go find a dojo and join. You will get a lot more out of it.

You are drinking a lot more water than you probably need. 64 oz or eight 8 0z glasses is what the recommended number is. Of course if you are actually thirsty enough to drink that much go for it. But it isn't necessary and certainly could be making you feel waterlogged.

You only fail if you quit trying. When things don't go quite right learn from it. Mistakes are how we progress. Think how many times you must have fallen down before you figured out how to stand up and walk. Well... now imagine if you had given up trying after a few dozen attempts. This is no different. So each time things…
