I do judo and do a bit of cross-training in BJJ.

Gained 2.2 lbs but all gone by Sunday morning.

I usually drink regular green tea in the morning and then diet coke the rest of the day. Every once in a while I'll get a matcha latte.

I had the Fitbit zip (the clip-on kind). I have a Fitbit Aria. I have an Apple watch. I have the Fitbit app installed on my iphone. I prefer the Apple watch. It does a whole lot more, especially in conjunction with the iPhone.

I'm 5'2.75". I didn't post when this thread first appeared but I was 136.9 lbs back in early August and I'm now down to 125.2. My goal is 120 lbs by the end of the year.

Did you have a nightmare/night terror? That could be the source of the heart rate increase.

I'm going to track just so I have data point. I'll indulge but it'll probably be just a tad above maintenance. The challenge is going to be whether or not I over-indulge in liquid calories (i.e., alcohol). I wasn't going to lower my intake in the days leading up to thanksgiving, but that may not be such a bad idea.

About 8 weeks, so that work out to 1 lb/wk and my average calorie intake for all 8 weeks is 1400 calories. There were days I was closer to 1200 and one day at 2300 calories. Most days were around 1300 with a splurge on the wknd at about 1800. I can tell you that going from 132# (60kg) to 127 (58kg) was relatively easy,…

The different calories being shown is the difference between cooked vs. raw. 8 ozs of raw rump is 289 calories 8 ozs of cooked rump is 419 calories both of these numbers are from the usda database

I have similar weight goals. I started off at 60 kg, currently at 56.5 kg, and trying to gt to 55kg. Your daily goal is an average daily goal, meaning you can have less one day and more another day. If you increase your calorie goal to 1800 just for the Friday that your parents bring treats, you'll need to lower the rest…

If you use Pandora to listen to music, you should know that there's currently no app for the apple watch. It's supposed to be coming out soon but it's not here yet. Apple music is great on it. Don't know about the other music apps.

My go-to drink is Jack and Diet Coke or Jim and Diet Coke (Jim Beam is a tad sweeter than Jack which is why I prefer Jack). I also like whisky, neat, which I can sip one glass then entire night. There's also Moscow Mule but with diet ginger ale instead of ginger beer.

I love tea, mostly green tea and pu'er tea nowadays.

The end of the CBS article you posted said this I wouldn't draw a link between green tea diet pills and drinking green tea. Who knows how much green tea is in the diet pills and whether or not it's laced with other dangerous chemicals. I drink about 20 oz of green tea per day. Not quite as much as you, but it seems like…

We ran out pretty early but then again, we didn't buy much and at one point my daughter and her friend were giving out the candies and I think they were giving out a handful to each kid. After we ran out of candies, my daughter wanted to go out for a second round so we went across the street this time. My kids prefer to…

DHMO for short. That stuff is dayn-jeh-russ!!!

7.5 lbs. in 49 weeks is just about 1 pound per week which is a good rate. Like cmriverside said, weight loss isn't linear. For instance, I gained 2.5 pounds between Friday and today. I know I will retain a lot of water from eating out on the weekends. This water weight will be gone tomorrow or Wednesday and I'll see a big…

I'm almost 5'3" and currently weigh 124. I'm trying to get back to my high school/college weight of 115 lbs but I'm reconsidering. I was at that weight 2 years ago and looking at old pictures, I was skin and bones. I'm working out a lot and I'm starting to see a lot of muscle definition that I like. My measurements are the…

steak taco is usually made with cheaper cuts of beef like skirt steak but it may not be easy to find nor cheap where you are. do you mean this? That's usually the "secret" ingredient (although the actual secret ingredient to Knorr seasoning is MSG). As an alternative, you can just add a little more salt to your taco…

Homemade bone broth can be highly variable. I tend to reduce mine to pack in the flavors which I'm guessing ups the calorie count just a little bit. Honestly, I just use the higher number to be on the safe side which doesn't even really add up to much in the big scheme of things.

Me too. I think it's because I tend to eat a lot of soups in the colder months and not eat heavy. Even during the holiday season, I just nibble a bit of everything and that's it.

I prefer to use the SWAG method. Sophisticated Wild A__ Guess. It's more accurate.

Finally got a chance to watch it. I always thought it was just energy that gets burned up - literally, like heat escaping our body. His presentation makes perfect sense.

I used to get shin pain when walking up steep hills or rollerblading. Doing the right kind of stretches helps a lot. Heel raises and heel drops work for me. Shoes might be an issue too, especially if you're flat-footed or have high arches.

Thanks everyone for the replies. It's been very helpful. This is my biggest concern. I don't want him (or my daughter) to have a warped view of "being fat" or to be chasing some number on a scale. That's another big concern. Dinner time is family time. I don't wan't to exclude him from that. Last night, I cut down his…

Well, I think he was just looking at a chart but my son has been with this pediatrician since day 1. In terms of body composition, I wouldn't classify my son as being husky but I'm having to get him husky clothes. I don't think it's hyperthyroidism. I think he really is eating more than he should. I've heard that from a…

It is supposed to be just a snack but my son can be pretty convincing and knows how to turn on the charm to get more food. We've already talked with the daycare lady and I think we'll just have to keep reminding her. I don't want him skipping dinner at home because I think it's important for the family unit to sit and eat…

Treadmill. Agree that indoor is for flat surfaces while outdoors take into account the different slight elevation changes

It's pretty much the same thing on the app. Tap on the number of servings and pull down menu comes up with fractions (in 1/8 increments, I think).

I cook at home, mostly from scratch. The only pre-packaged stuff that I use is ready-made chicken stock or every once in a rare moon, I use bouillon cubes. I have two friends who are obese, and they eat nothing but home-cooked meals, except that their portions are so much bigger than what I’m used to. Eating to maintain…
