  • I've been doing a lot of baking. Since yeast is scarce right now, I've been growing my own with the sourdough method. Instead of throwing away starter discards, I've been making sourdough pancakes and waffles. The tang from the sourdough is barely discernable but they sure are fluffy. I froze a lot of the pancakes and…
  • I have a Blendtech. Definitely worth the money spent on it. It's a direct competitor to Vitamix. It's not better or worse than Vitamix but I happened to get it on sale at Costco a few years ago.
  • 👍
  • You're technically right since a single shot of espresso is only 1 ounce (30mL), but just to be a little nitpicky, it isn't the fact that it's strong that it's not a great hydrator. Fun fact: there's actually less caffeine in a double shot of espresso than there is in a 12-ounce cup of coffee.
  • I was using the free version for 5+ years. It did everything I wanted it to. I was able to lose weight. I recently upgraded to premium because I wanted to track my macros by weight instead of percentages. There are certain features that are nice but not something I would've specifically paid for.

  • I'm 5'2" as well. About 10-ish years ago, I was in the 160 range. I started off with 1200 calories and like you're finding out, it wasn't sustainable. I think I only lasted 2 months in that range. I upped my calorie intake to 1600 which was a lot easier for me and I still continued to lose weight. I think it took me a year…
  • I don't run much, but when I do, it's usually "ooh, I only have 29 minutes left. great, now I have 28 minutes left. Yay, I've done 2 miles already. I hope the neighbor's dog doesn't bark at me today. breathe in through the noise, breathe out through the mouth. yay 27 more minutes"....ad nauseam. Same thing when I go…
  • me too, please.... i usually just toss it in whatever vinegary Asian dressing I have (usually a yuzu dressing), or if I'm feeling particularly ambitious, I'll make my own ponzu style dressing
  • Yup, add me to the list who estimates. I also used to track meticulously several years back. Every once in a while I'll log again just to make sure I'm still on track.
  • If you've done it before, you can go to classes, then to "running", then "filter" (towards the bottom), then tap on "taken by me" (toward the top, middle of three buttons). There isn't a hill category and there's no easy way to search so you'll have to unfortunately scroll through the whole thing and then just bookmark the…
  • There are a few things on that list that I've never tried, so I guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow. Preference is basted which looks like it's over easy but you don't actually flip it over, you just cover the skillet and let steam cook the top.
  • Vanilla cone for me too, followed closely by vanilla sandwich, then by the cookies 'n cream bar.
  • I already have a road bike and a cheapish smart trainer so I have no use for a Peloton but a friend included me in her family account so I've been using the Peloton app for a few months now. I like it but their programs but if I were to be paying the monthly fee, I prefer zwift, but that all depends of your goals and how…

  • LOL. yeah, I thought this was going to be about some kind of new dressing that was sinfully delicious but miraculously low in calorie. I have a similar salad spinner as the one pictured above. I've had it for probably close to 10 years now. It's probably oxo or kitchenaid or something similar.
  • It's funny because I always thought that my RHR was normally high. Before the advent of activity trackers, I never really paid attention to my RHR. It was something that I would maybe check randomly and just rely on whatever it was during my annual physicals or regular doctor visits. So, I had my quarterly doctor visit…
  • Yeah, it depends on the workout and depends on my goal for tracking. Last year, I was pretty meticulous in tracking everything because I wanted to be as accurate as possible in estimating what my calorie burn is supposed to be. For strength training, I'll include my time doing static stretches and I'm not even that…
  • BMI: 21.8 current RHR: 56 BPM average RHR: 52-57 BPM I don't track my RHR all that much but as I've gotten more active, I've noticed that it certainly has gone down from the 60's to the 50's. Since I don't track my RHR too closely, I'm not too sure how my period affects it. It seems like it should be lower since I'm more…
  • Here's another instantpot recipe that I like: instantpot chili with beans. I don't like beans in my chili, so you can omit that if you'd like.
  • You can just log it as a regular HIIT workout.
  • I agree with @cwolfman13 . I think Peloton is a couple thousand dollars plus a monthly membership fee. For that money, you can buy a decent road bike (that you can obviously ride outside) with a smart trainer (or dumb trainer for that matter) and zwift (which does have a monthly cost). You can google cheaper equipment…
  • I use the thread called "What do your meals look like (show me pictures)" to see what other people are cooking and use that for inspiration. Sometimes they'll post a recipe or I'll just google the recipe.
  • This was going to be my response too, but, you know what, I'm willing to give it a try. I mean, I'm not going to actively seek it, but if someone offers it to me, I'll try it.
  • On the app, near the top, click on "Today" and you should be able to change the date to yesterday's date, then tap on the checkmark. That should show you your entries for yesterday.
  • Goal: 24 hours+ 4/8: 1 hr. weights (chest + shoulder + triceps) Total MTD: 8 hrs 45 mins. [/quote]
  • I've tried and enjoy most of the things posted here. I've tried durian chips but haven't tried real durian yet. I don't think I've had head cheese yet. I'm pretty adventurous so I'd try anything (except of course, endangered species or cats and dogs).
  • Yes, I did skim off the fat. I used canned pear when I made it. I've also substituted sweet apples (Gala or Fuji) whenever a Korean recipe calls for Asian pear. It's not essential to the recipe so you can skip it and ti'll still taste great. Another dish you can make with short ribs is a ragu.... or braise it with red wine…
  • Didn't know you can subscribe through iTunes. Is there a selection to turn off auto renewal? That's how you cancel on the website.
  • Goal: 24 hours+ 4/7: 1 hr indoor cycling Total MTD: 7 hrs 45 mins.
  • veggies for breakfast burritos: mini potatoes (purple, red and yellow) mushrooms spinach
