I love this series. I'm rooting for Mattie. I was watching this last night with 6-year old daughter and she said "girls can have muscles too???" Of course we can.

I'm wishing/hoping that my shoulder heals soon so that I can have shoulder like @AnnPT77 by summertime.

You can substitute Greek yogurt for the mayo or skip the cheese altogether. It won't be tuna melt without the cheese but still good. I'd also add more green to help satiety.

I did lobster tails last night. 134F for 1 hour with just butter and salt. Served with linguine in a simple butter sauce and spinach. Delicious. Might try it 130F next time. I usually do ribeye at 129F for 1 hour. Pan seared and served with a red wine reduction (red wine, garlic, shallots, rosemary, thyme and butter). Pork…

I wonder if it's something you can outgrow because I used to think it did taste like soap but now I love it.

I have shoulder impingement resulting from a fall. I got the cortisone shot a week and a half ago, and I agree, it hurt more than the original pain. It went away after a week and my pain is only slightly less than what i was originally. I *think* I've gotten a bit of range of motion back but I may just be compensating by…

You're draining and doing an additional rinse?? Why are you using 80/20? Why not just use 90/10 which is 50 cals per ounce.

It also says that it yields 20 chicken balls so I suspect that the calorie count is for each chicken ball.

I have the p90x and 21 day fix DVD's. I had BOD when I was traveling a lot for work and I did the workouts in my hotel room. I don't travel as much anymore so I cancelled my subscription.

You can use the egg yolks in so many different ways but they'll ultimately still add calories to your daily intake. Some examples include Hollandaise sauce, creme anglaise, homemade mayo, creme brulee, macarons, etc. You can also add them to things like mac-and-cheese or carbonara to make them extra creamy. That's what I…

I'm so glad you posted this. I used to love a fruit called chikoo when I was little but haven't been able to find them. From your description, mamey sounds very similar.

I haven't tried the others, but Sweet Rub O' Mine is what I use on nearly all my veggies. For meat and stuff, I just use onion powder, garlic powder, and salt.

I upgraded to the AW4 back in December from the AW1. There isn't a discrepancy between my November and December numbers.

I changed jobs about a year and a half ago and I got more sedentary. At my last job at least I was able to walk around a little bit and even walk to lunch. Now I'm in the middle of a business park where I can't even walk anywhere, so I got a little less active and started eating a little bit more. The weight creeped up…

Even cheap knives can benefit from a whet stone. I concur with the advise of looking up videos on youtube on how to sharpen your knives.

I try to eat at least three different kinds of vegetables per meal (aromatics like onions and bell peppers don't count). I typically roast or stir fry my veggies, or put them in soups during this time of the year. I've been experimenting lately with chayote squash. I used to just put it in chicken soup but lately I've been…

I have nothing to add, except that I'm enjoying the discussion between @DX2JX2 and @French_Peasant . I'm learning a lot.

You can use youtube on roku. Youtube is a good resource for free fitness. Try Fitness Blender on youtube.

When somebody says "sear" I take that to mean a hot skillet and browning whatever I'm cooking. I don't use oil for onions, garlic and bell peppers. For vegetables that I want to actually sear, like brussel sprouts or zucchini spears, I will use just a teaspoon of oil. Like others have said, it doesn't actually take that…

Me too. I've had some luck getting my arches back doing corrective workouts. You can search for "flat foot exercises" on youtube but this video [link] in particular is what I used.

Ditto to what kimny said, especially if you're removing the fat anyway.

It is probably the sodium and it's just water weight. There's no need not to eat out. I eat out most weekends and notice that my Monday morning weight is higher than what it should be. Then by Tuesday or Wednesday, that water weight is gone and if I look at the trend weight, I have actually lost weight.

I thought we're tying to lose weight on this site. lol. I'm going to try that Oreo cheesecake recipe and then use it as a starting point for other kinds of recipes. I'll be adjusting the recipe for 4" springform pan rather than the 7" called for in the recipe.

You can just put it in the microwave for 3 minutes. Comes out perfect every time. After rinsing the broccoli, I'll put in a bowl, covered with paper towel and nuke it for 3 minutes.

2 ounces (by weight) of uncooked pasta is 200 calories

Are you sure you're only eating 1,000 calories per day? Are you weighing your foods? At 45 pounds lost in 6 months, that averages out to 1.9 pounds per week which means you're actually eating about 1600 calories per day.

I've had mine for 3 years now so I don't really remember what I made. Probably chicken stock or Japanese curry.
