I didn't say anything about eating ONLY high cal foods. Merely that the more you eat in high-cal / low volume foods, the less calories you have left to eat low cal / high volume food (or high protein food), which may fill someone up more. (One maple bar at my favorite donut shop is almost 600 calories. Yeeeah, guess what I…

It depends on the person. Your weight will fluctuate from day to day based on water weight and such, which means you will sometimes randomly weigh more, even if you are sticking to your calorie goals. Some people are demotivated by that, so for them it makes more sense to weigh once a week. I do weigh every day because I…

I know what it's like to start, stop, and start again. I'm finally "getting there" and so can you. :) I had / have days where everything seems to go to pot, where I eat way too much and the scale goes up, or even days where I stay under my calorie goal and the scale STILL goes up . . . I used to use the "little" failures…

Sleep. When I would get really, unbearably hungry . . . I'd go take a nap. (Obviously this one doesn't work when you're at work, lol.)

Several of my aunts have planar fascitis and it's so restrictive and painful. Honestly I would ask your doctor for suggestions. You don't want to hurt your feet even more. You can lose weight through diet alone, so don't feel like exercise is necessary to lose weight. You could also just focus on exercising the parts of…

This is my interpretation of the original post: That it's true that you can eat small amounts of high calorie foods and stay under your calories for the day, BUT that it's bad advice to give to someone just starting out, because if they get ravenously hungry they are more likely to fail. And the more small-in-volume,…

My brother's a very careful biker, but he's still been hit twice by cars. His helmet saved him both times. I think the modern helmets actually look rather snazzy and futuristic compared to what I had as a kid. ;) Sidenote: you have to buckle the helmet strap for it to be effective, or else it'll fly off your head when you…

I'm okay running on a treadmill or elliptical, but I hate it in real life. I find it boring. I do enjoy walking and biking. Just not running. It's not for everyone. I'm not obese and it's not about it being painful in my case. It's more that . . . I am denied the pleasure of leisurely observing my surroundings, as I would…

Not really, since we live in a world where people follow diets like "drinking apple cider vinegar." More to the point, I think people who cut certain foods out of their diet do get some of the "I eat everything!" people looking down their noses at them. If you can eat anything and stay within your calories, then that's…

Thumbs up on the Snorlax picture, I love Pokemon. I do think that a lot of the cheerful talk about how "you can eat ANYTHING and lose weight!" needs a footnote: "You can eat anything, but if it's high in calories you can only have a tiny bit." Now personally, if I order a pizza I don't want to eat just one slice, hold the…

I'm a cisgender woman (who digs girls). Feel free to add me if you want. :) And welcome!

I weigh in daily (in the morning). You have to be prepared for the fact that sometimes the scale will go up, though.

If I were you I'd be angry as hell--accusing you of having an affair, wow wow wow. He is insulting you and your integrity. Not okay. I second the advice of a marriage counselor.

Binders are an actual item of clothing (underclothing). They're safer than tape. And also pretty affordable. :)

Absolutely. Oddly, it tends to happen when I am doing really well (like one of those days when you suddenly lose five pounds overnight.) And it's not a thought process of "Oh, I'm doing extra well so I can indulge", either. It's like a kind of panic over the success (in my case). I think it's tied to the fact that for most…

The title is obviously meant to be misleading clickbait. No, you won't lose weight if you eat five Cinnabons and then workout for twenty minutes. But you'll gain slightly less weight than if you ate five Cinnabons and didn't work out at all. I will say that often times the person writing the article and the person writing…

Maybe the OP means that his weight is distributed quite evenly, so rather than having "big butt" or "big stomach", he just looks uniformly vertical, with even padding.

I weigh the least at mid-morning, assuming I haven't already eaten breakfast.

Do you work in an office or something during the day (as opposed to working at home, going to school, etc)? If so, set yourself up for success. First, identify your bad habits. Buying an iced coffee? Getting a treat from the vending machine? Etc. Second, set things up so that you CANNOT indulge in that habit. You can't buy…

Morningstar corn dogs are the bomb! Especially if you heat them in the oven, not the microwave. I'm not even a vegetarian, but I buy them because they taste great and have less calories than real corn dogs. For homemade stuff, I made a veggie lasagna last week and it was sooo tasty. Tomorrow I'm making vegetarian sweet…

Regarding giving it to the dog: just make sure it doesn't have any ingredients that are bad for dogs. (Onions and garlic are toxic for dogs and cats, for example. Grapes /raisins as well.)

Maybe having two books was more of a gender marketing thing? (To attract women or men, based on the cover.)
-
I think it's natural, especially when you're the one purchasing the food and you're like "Nooo, those ingredients cost money, whyyy?" Could you refrigerate it and eat the stuff later? I mean, we save leftovers from restaurants, why should homemade meals be any different?

I only notice when I look at old pictures. There definitely IS a change--I can fit into clothes that I couldn't before--but it happens so gradually that it's hard to notice on a day-to-day basis. Don't worry, though. You can make it, and it is worth it. :)

Some exercises use the weight of your own body as a "weight" for your muscles to lift (like lunges), so lifting weights is not the only way. :)

Tea in general makes me less hungry. Green tea is my favorite.

Yeah, I find frozen vegetables, especially green beans, to have a yucky aftertaste. I sometimes buy frozen peas and carrots for pot pies though. Or soup.

Yeah, I too heard it can be useful to people who are starving in developing countries, especially since it doesn't have to be refrigerated. However, that was not the original intent in creating it. It was created by a brogrammer who thought cooking and eating meals was a waste of time because it took him away from the…

YES, the Hostess fruit pies! Also Totino's pizzas (the small cheap ones). Dang, how do they get so many calories into them compared to "normal" frozen pizzas?

In my city there are six farmers markets in town, or seven counting the downtown one that closes in the winter. Most of them open on a Saturday or Sunday, except the downtown one which is open on Tuesdays.
