What works for me is, when I indulge myself in junk food, after that I do something that I really hate ( like every time) as punishment. For example I go running (I hate running, that`s my most hated thing to do). And I stopped after a few weeks.

It really does depend on how much you have to lose, how tall you are and how you gain weight.
