  • 5-7 times a week in the morning. I record my lows and since weight fluctuates I don't want to miss it for that week. I imagine once i get close to goal or am on maintenance I will weigh weekly at least. Not weighing myself except a handful of times a year is what made me unaccountable for my weight gain, and I don't want…
  • That definitely sounds like a possibility. Thanks! ill have to look up good food sources for that.
  • OP. I've had the same question. But every answer I see doesn't answer it for me either. I understand how MFPs setup achieves weight loss. And exercise increases that calorie deficit. But is it unhealthy to not eat back calories if you aren't hungry? I burn up to 1000 calories a day. Sometimes 500. Am I gonna end up…
  • VLCD (800-1000) when I was a teenager. I just wanted that weight off as fast as possible. It worked, but I only ever lasted 2 weeks. Not being in charge of food in the house about 10 months ago when I first committed to MFP. My roommates would cook (delicious meals) and I was no chef, so it ended up being high calorie…
  • This started airing right after I decided it was time to lose weight. It definitely motivates me! I can't wait for a female trainer as well. Will be watching tonight :)
  • Awesome! You look fantastic!
  • Been hypothyroid since I was 17/18, so about six years. Ive always been very stable on my levothyroxine/synthroid so half the time I take it with coffee or a small snack in the morning. Technically youre supposed to take it on an empty stomach and wait an hour. In 30 days I've lost 14.5 pounds. I'm 5'2"ish started at 184…
  • I always search for the restaurants nutrition information on google on my phone or before I go out. A lot of places provide that info. (that's what I did at red lobster today and ihop before). Last night I had a v. oj milkshake and had no idea how much it was. So I just tried to estimate based on other milkshakes and…
  • Sometimes some women gain extra weight during pregnancy and there's not really anything you can do about it. I gained a TON of water weight right before the second trimester. (132lbs pre pregnancy to 194ish before birth). It made me feel fat and like I did something wrong but it wasn't my fault. I lost most of it in 2…
  • Thats strange it wouldn't be pulled from the market, then, since it wouldnt meet FDA guidelines under that assumption. I did fine on generic. to each their own, i guess.
  • Prior to me realizing that I needed to lose weight, food was a cure for boredom, it was paired with tv and movies, it was a treat, it was an activity. It was also money and I could not see it go to waste, so I would finish it even if it meant overstuffing myself. I've still got a long way to go, (lost ~14 of at least 54lbs…
  • I've been burning anywhere from 400-1000 doing zumba. I wear a HRM and deflate its calorie burn by 10-15%. I'm still trying to figure out if/how much more I need to eat from exercising as obviously 1000 is quite a bit.
  • Those look amazing. I love banana muffins so I have to try these. And bananas in the oven... Does it actually ripen them or just make them softer to mix?
  • Just curious, as it is extremely rare for generic to not work vs generic, do you know why it didn't work for you? Was it a certain excipient in the generic?
  • I wont echo what's already been said. I know my doctor is very conservative and most info I've heard is to not [try] and lose weight while pregnant. I'm trying to be as active as I can now so I can continue to be active when pregnant. Obviously listen to whatever your doctor tells you if you are pregnant now
  • I'm on the short side, so 3.8 is about as fast as I can walk (flat) before going into the awkward almost jogging state. 5% incline, 3.0 is all I can maintain for now.
  • I've almost completely made the switch from coffee to tea! I only have half a cup in the morning made with milk. I switched cause I started have heart palpitations irregularly and wasn't sure what was causing them. So, tea is a better alternative!
  • This is my go-to as well! When I'm watching tv I used to snack. Now, I just drink tea (no calories and I get my water for the day). There's dozens of flavors. It also helps me feel fuller (until I'm actually food hungry.) Best thing is to find something that works for you.
  • I started noticing back fat. I've never had that, aside from the "too tight of a bra" roll. I also bought new jeans that rise higher, around my belly button. I started getting a rash around my belly button, my doctor saw it and told me in was yeast! (from the waist pushing my stomach together) ugh. embarassing. After that…
  • I loveee that DVD. In all honesty I haven't gotten passed week 2. But I used my HRM with it and it was a great workout in only 35 minutes. I could tell a difference in my endurance in just the first week.
  • There are online calculators out there that will tell you (height, weight, speed, incline, time) how many calories you burn, then you can compare that to the standard running equation. Of course the most accurate would be a HRM. I haven't had the chance to test it out as mine was acting up last week, battery was low.
  • I heard that a few weeks ago as well. I prefer it to running because I'm out of shape and don't get burnt out so quickly. And it's easier on my knees. In the future I would like to be able to run but thats way down the line.
  • Anyone can be allergic to anything, and can develop that allergy at any time. Until you get tested just be careful as increased exposure to an allergen can make symptoms worse or even deadly.
  • Theres a few here who have it that seem to post regularly. Mine dosage is kinda low (75mcg) and I think it was changed once in the first three months which was almost six years ago. I cant speak with any knowledge about the adrenal fatigue, but don't get discouraged. Diet is how you will lose weight, so maybe easing into…
  • Keep in mind the dose you're on now may not be the right dose for you and it may need to be tweaked. I am hypothyroid as well. Weight loss is definitely possible. (I've lost 10 in 21 days). But the right dosage will obviously make a difference! I've always known my hypothyroidism is no excuse for my weight gain, which can…
  • I just got done with a 35 min workout. Resting is around 72. My max was 186 and average was 166. I'm out of shape, and mine got up high fast but didn't rise exponentially.
  • With it being cold (and snowy) and I don't have a treadmill at home, I think my main exercise format will be zumba. It's worked for me well in the past and I like it better than running anyway.
  • Yep. Saw one with my best friend when she was at my house(6th grade). Woman with dark hair in a floor length white night gown on a stair landing. Two years later I was asking/telling my older sister about it. Before I even finished describing it she finished the description and said she saw her at her 6th grade birthday…
  • Just started snowing half an hour ago! supposed to get 3 inches. 18F and windy.
  • Sounds like me the first week. Nice work! I found that not keeping anything tempting or "bad" in the house was the best way to help me change my diet. Also finding fat free or low carb versions (like cheese/cream cheese, bread) lets me keep some yummy things without eating up my calories.
