  • Congrats on the age group win @lporter229! I ran the Heart Mini half yesterday too. I didn't run it quite as fast as you, but I was very happy with my 1:54:40 finish (I was hoping for around 2 hours). It was my first time running that race and it was a lot hillier than I expected it to be, especially that little out and…
  • The one I did last spring was going to be my one and only too. Then I did another last fall and my third about two weeks ago...now I'm looking for another one to sign up for next year. Good luck with the training and the race.
  • Detroit Marathon on Sunday. I figured mid-October in Detroit would be a safe bet for cooler temperatures. Instead, it was nearly 70 degrees for the 7 AM start. Then the 25 mph winds kicked up for the last couple of hours. Finished in 4:13, which I'm not unhappy with, given the conditions.
  • I track my runs on Garmin Connect and have the same issue. It's taken a while, but I'm getting better at ignoring the watch and running by feel on the long runs. Sometimes I still have to keep reminding myself throughout the run to slow down. Regarding the run not being recorded on the app, I have been known to panic if I…
  • I was in Columbus, Ohio this weekend, so I rearranged my October marathon training plan a bit and ran two races: the Westerville Gameday 5k, which is the cross-country team fundraiser for the local high school near where I was staying in Columbus, and the Columbus Half Marathon at Alum Creek State Park. The 5k was Friday…
  • Just started Week 8 of training for the Detroit Marathon on October 15. I just fit a 5k and half marathon into the plan and set a new PR for both, so it seems the training is going pretty well.
  • Finished the Air Force Marathon in 4:29:01 on Saturday. Nowhere near a PR (didn't really expect one considering the warm humid weather), but I did get a cool finisher's medal.
  • Air Force Marathon tomorrow. This will be my second. I was hoping to beat my previous time, but it's going to be a little warmer than I had hoped, so I don't know if that will happen.
  • Air Force Marathon in Dayton, OH on September 17.
  • I just found this group and this thread, so this is a little late, but I just ran my first half marathon on 4/2 and my first marathon on 4/30. I finished the Run the Bluegrass Half Marathon (Lexington, KY) in 1:51:56 and the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon (Louisville) in 3:58:25. The small medal to the right is for…
