Since it’s been a while and it’s that time of year again, here’s a bump.

I usually eat most of not all of my exercise calories back but I don't fret if I don't. I also gauge it on how hungry I feel, sometimes I'm just not particularly hungry so I won't force myself to eat. If I know I'm going out for a meal I may well save a few up too.* There is the issue of how accurate those estimates are as…

That's a new one for me thanks Cory. Athlean-X Jeff is the man. No BS or broscience. I'm also a fan of Alan Thrall (Untamed strength) for no BS lifting advice too.

A Panda BUMP for the midweek.

When this question comes up I’m reminded of this (saved from here a few years back, not sure who op was) Because so many are hung up on scale weight, I finally found this in my files and wanted to share. Why Scales Lie by Renee Cloe, ACE Certified Personal Trainer (reprinted with permission:…

Well I’ve not seen this in a while. Needs a bump.

Flipbelt. (Or a Chinese knock of copy) They keep your phone perfectly safe and secure without adding any weight to you and will happily take an iPhone 6 Plus in a case! As for wireless headphones I have a pair of Adistar which I love but were pricey. My wife uses a Tao brand pair from Amazon which are almost as good and…

Great. I'll have two pints of Scotch. (A drink is a nonsense term without units ;) )

A bump with another psa. ;)

5g Creatine Monohydrate, 2g Beta Alanine, 200mg Caffeine & 4g L-ArginineAKD. Buy them in bulk powder form and mix your own. It will save you hundreds. Note if using Caffeine powder be sure to measure the amount accurately. With regard to CM I only include it as it's convenient to take in with a pre-workout.

Firstly, don't get hung up on weighing yourself too often. Once a week is plenty (imo) I weigh once a week in the morning after ablutions (normally a Sunday) The following is from (I think) a thread on here. Maybe @ninerbuff but I'm not sure. Great info about your scales and why you shouldn't weigh too often.

I lost 60lbs on a deficit and only ever felt hungry a handful of times (usually when I forgot breakfast) If you're always hungry you're likely running at too large a deficit. Slow down, it's not a race. There are no quick fixes. Diet pills are unnecessary and often dangerous But judging by your replies you are not…

My only restriction while I was losing weight was to cut out pastry. I adore it, I would eat two Cornish pasties on the trot, pork pie, Snake & Pygmy, I had no self control :D Soooo I stopped eating it for about 8 months. Now I find I can eat a sensible sized portion without hankering after more, so problem solved. As far…

Apart from a lack of dairy it seems quite balanced. With regard to "may be anaemic" get a blood test. I nearly lost my wife due to anaemia and complications so it's worth checking. The symptoms can be lots of other things too though.

@samanthaluangphixay That's one of many reasons why squat racks should be setup so you back out with the weight and rerack stepping forward. ;)
-
And there are those of us who suffer from hyperhydrosis :/ (thankfully not as badly as some)

No offence taken at all Helen. :)

I did say not particularly efficacious rather than useless (my wife has had severe anemia due to medical problems and now she is back on an even keel also takes iron supplements, so I'm well aware of the good that supplements can do) There is indeed something to be said for vitamin supplements usage to plug the gaps in…
-
I don't wish to appear rude but how do you know? Did you/do you have your urine tested? Can you provide any evidence that generic vitamins are not broken down in the body efficiently and higher cost ones are? Anecdotal evidence isn't valid btw. Edit: There is very little evidence that multivitamins are particularly…

If you're on a budget (or are rough on your gear) these are bloody marvellous for the money. My wife uses them all the time. I use Adidas Monster Adistar. Little bit expensive but great sound, really firm hold and very comfortable for extended wearing.

It was branded as Topwise outdoor sports waist pack on eBay. About £6 posted (~$8) Fit is important as they need to be quite snug but certainly doesn't bounce around with my huge phone in it. The belt flips over so the openings are against the skin but tbh they grip the contents which go in quite a way so falling out is…

I found all of these I've tried to be really uncomfortable and doesn't stay put? I've got fairly large arms though so maybe it's my shape as I see plenty of people using them.
-
I have a (knock off) flip belt, holds my iPhone 6+ in its case (pretty huge) and house keys nice and snugly. Doesn't bounce around at all when running and is very comfortable.

For strength and correct technique Allan Thrall and Scott Herman are brilliant resources. For giggles Infinite Elgintensity and BroSciencelife I can't stomach the idiots though. CT, Kali, Piana, Vince G, O'Hearn et al.

Quite possible, even with the best QC it happens. Thankfully Fitbit have one of the best CS departments I've come across, which means faulty products are not much more than an inconvenience. B)

It sounds like a shoulder impingement, I suggest seeing a physio sooner rather than later. There are some fairly simple rotational exercises (internal & external) which help build the strength in the rotator muscles. Flexibility of the joint is also very important and shouldn't be neglected.

Not strictly true, the bands are far more intelligent than that. Walk 100 steps with your arms static by your sides and it will still count them although accuracy may suffer a little. They don't count very well (if at all) if your pushing a trolley/pushchair though.
-
As agzram said, Fitbit's customer service is brilliant. Contact them and they will likely resolve it quickly. FWIW I had the same band problem and they replaced it very quickly, other than that I've had no problems with holding a charge or functionality.

For value/budget pair I second the Taotronics. For ~£20 they're very good. Jaybirds are excellent but I preferred the Monster Adidas adistar. Slightly cheaper but more importantly a more comfortable fit for my ears, sound quality is as good as the Jaybirds and fine for BT headphones. (Bear in mind I'm not an audiophile)
