My mini goal is to finish January with no added sugar or sweeteners. I decided to do a month free of sugar/sweeteners after overdoing Christmas treats. A reset is just the ticket. After January ends, I'll assess the next mini-goal, but it will likely be tennis related.

I just baked up some chickpeas a couple of nights ago. I found a "crunchy" baked recipe. They were pretty good. I seasoned them two ways: chipotle chili powder, cayenne, and oregeno, and salt, and the other was curry and salt. I think I prefer wasabi peas. Or popcorn, though that's not so handy when out and about, and not…

Hi everyone. I just found this cool thread. I'm alcohol free for over 2 years. Unfortunately, when I quit smoking, I gained back the weight I lost when I quit drinking, so now I'm ready to get into shape. I love living alcohol free.

I like to make lentils for a good protein source. I throw some onion and carrot and curry in there, or other spices and veggies. It reheats well and is good with some flat bread or crackers.

If you like to bake: I started substituting a quality nonfat plain yogurt to replace butter in many baked dishes (biscuits, breads, etc) It's good and totally reduces calories.

I like mine black sometimes, but often with cream and no sugar, but I drink a lot of it, so I'm trying to like it black more often. I find I like to make it a little weaker when it's black. I add a little hot water to mellow it out and it is much easier to drink than the really strong stuff I used to make.

I love just soaking 2 tablespoons in 1/2 cup of coconut milk. Very satisfying and great warm or cold.

I find mixing soda water with a couple tablespoons of fruit juice gives me the juice fix without all the sugar.

I like to cook up a 1/2 cup of rolled oats and add some cinnamon and honey.

Once in awhile, when I'm really missing peanut butter cups, I like to take a spoonful of peanut butter and put chocolate chips on top and slowly eat it for dessert. It's awesome.

Sauteed onion, apple, mushrooms, and spinach. I like it with a bit of sharp cheddar and plenty of pepper.

I was just looking up some ideas myself. I made lentils (with curry, red bell pepper, and onion), roasted butternut squash, and brown rice for my dinner tonight. I stumbled across these recipes and I think I'll do a veggie burger tomorrow. It's been ages since I made one:…

Flatbread and Corn Tortillas are things I used to buy but now that I know how easy they are to make, I make them so I can have them fresh. I know how to make ice cream and sorbet but I buy it because it's a pain in the butt to make.

Feel free to add me as a friend. I have two boys and the youngest is 11 and I STILL haven't gotten back in shape. I decided enough is enough. I am doing it slowly but hoping to keep going this time around.

My husband makes a great pea soup. The whole family loves the stuff. :) Yours looks delish.

I like veggie sushi for lunch sometimes. I make my own with avocado, carrots, cucumbers, and bell peppers and take a side of soy sauce and wisabe, but there are pretty cheap pre-made ones available at most markets.

I gave up alcohol about 5 months ago, but for me it was not just for weight loss but also general health. I was beginning to feel like it was sinking some talons into me. I don't miss it. I feel better mentally and physically than I have in long time. Now if I can just work up some motivation to exercise I'll be looking…

Vegetable sushi roll is my favorite work lunch of the week.

I love my crock pots. My favorite crock dishes are chicken verde (just chicken breasts with green enchilada sauce and a can of chopped green chilies added), chili, soups, and chili con carne.

Boiled shrimp. I just peel them and eat with a bit of lemon or lime juice and a few drops of hot sauce. They go fine with a lot of side dishes.

Just the other night I was using up some plain left over quinow. It turned out amazing, the best quinoa I've tried so far. I sauteed crimini mushrooms (3), onion (1 small), garlic (2 large cloves), a splash of red wine (like 2 Tbsp), some gilled eggplant (about 3 3/4" thick round slices chopped up), a handful of copped…

No one else in my house is particularly interested in watching calories either. That said, we find a lot of common ground. My kids eat the same things that I do but they also eat other things that I don't (I skipped the cheese and cracker snacks today and opted for fresh fruit instead). All our meals have fruit and/or…
