  • I think 2 kg is good. Just think, at this rate you will lose another 2kg next month... That's 4kg or just under 9 pounds... 1 pound short of your goal! That's really really good.
  • Yep, first time! I posted a picture on Facebook - my friends think I'm crazy for eating sprinkles on buttered bread. They are missing out. Your tonkatsu looks delicious. I love how every country has their quirky traditional foods. There is so much that I want to try, and I am seeing so many new things in this bento thread!…
  • I almost always use a serving size, and I do the same thing with weighing my food in grams but logging the individual serving by cups because it is easier. However, one serving of cereal is never enough, so I usually weigh out 1.5 servings and log that instead.
  • This may not completely help, since you have health-related dietary restrictions, but maybe this will at least help you brainstorm. Here are some of my favorite snacks: Pudding cups String cheese and babybel cheese Ice cream sandwiches (150 cal each for the kind I buy) A piece of fruit or some pineapple (pineapple is my…

  • Oh my gosh, guys! Fairy bread is soooooo good! It's like a buttery sugar cookie with the best texture ever - the super soft bread and the crunchy sprinkles! I'm in fairy heaven!
  • For peanut butter on bread, I weigh the bread, then zero out the scale with the bread still on it, then put peanut butter on the bread, weigh it, and you now have the weight of just the peanut butter that you added. :)
  • Full fat cottage cheese or gtfo.
  • I always have eggs, babybel cheese, 0% Greek yogurt, and ice cream sandwiches (the ones I buy are 150 cal, so I can fit ice cream into my calorie goals pretty much every day).
  • Stir fried ramen, pork tenderloin, peaches, and a fairy bread equals sign. Because equality makes me happy. And I think fairy bread will too.
  • So, for your Cuban Picadillo, manually enter the recipe into the MFP recipe builder thing. Use weight measurements wherever possible in the recipe. Then, make the recipe. When you are all done cooking, weigh the entire amount of food that you just prepared. Now, back in the recipe builder for the recipe that you previously…
  • Sweet potato wedges with honey; blackened catfish (under the sweet potatoes - you will just have to trust me with this one); peaches; raspberries.
  • Wow... Cooking with dog? That's quite a concept. I watched it... Does oyakodon always have runny eggs? Runny egg whites kind of gross me out. I'm assuming you could cook it enough so that the whites don't have a runny snot-like texture? Or would more solid eggs sort of ruin the whole thing?
  • And to follow up: I have the best husband ever. He grabbed my lunch and drove to the next bus stop and was standing there waiting to hand my bento to me. <3
  • I hopped on the bus to go to work and just realized that I left my burrito bowl bento in the fridge at home :( So so sad
  • I am an ice cream fiend, so I always have a box of ice cream sandwiches in the freezer. The ones I buy are 150 calories each, so I can easily fit one into my daily calorie goals :)
  • Still I the process of moving, but we now know exactly where we are moving to. Hooray! We hadn't been grocery shopping in two weeks because we thought we were moving, but the date kept getting pushed back. Now that we know, we went shopping over the weekend, and I made a bento for lunch tomorrow! The large box is sort of a…
  • Could you pack a cooler or some sort of lunch bag with an ice pack? I eat cold leftovers for lunch almost every day. When I make dinner, I will make a few extra servings and put them in their own Tupperware containers, throw those in my lunch bag, and head to work. I eat a lot of meat with steamed or roasted veggies and…

  • Your gemwrap looks pretty and not soggy. Yum!
  • I love Disney food! I sometimes order a kids meal for myself at quick service restaurants because portion sizes can be huge. With a kids meal you can get a cheeseburger or chicken fingers or whatever else they have, but you get an option of two sides. You can get apple slices, carrots, French fries... Just to name a few…
  • 500 calories a day? You must dislike having hair, finger nails, and working vital organs.
  • Thanks! If you want to try it out, you can just use a plastic container (like Tupperware) and prettily arrange your lunch... If you have little silicone, paper, or metal muffin cups, you can use those to separate some of your food. It has sort of become a hobby for me, and I found that it is a great motivator to put…
  • I made them the night before, but you can't use wet ingredients (sauces, tomato, etc). They are too firm to eat immediately, so if you make them the day-of, you have to let them sit for five minutes or so before chowing down. I stopped eating them after a couple because I didn't want to make them the day-of, and they were…
  • Grats on the new job... And the new scale! Good luck with your weight loss journey!
  • Are you sure you didn't log it accurately last night when you drank it, but now you just don't remember drinking it? >.<
  • Oh wow. 400 is a really small bento box. Mine is 640 ml, and I sometimes struggle to get enough food in it. Regardless, the shrimp look delicious.
  • Those shrimps are huge! Your bento is such an oxymoron!
  • Thanks for the info! When we finally have a place with a kitchen, I am going to try this. I haven't made spring rolls in a long time, but I love them. I've just never perfected a dipping sauce to compliment them.
  • Those spring rolls!!! Did you make a dipping sauce for them too?
  • I think you actually may have Jell-O, but it is probably called something else. (I think it might be called jelly or something similar?) It's just flavored gelatin, and it is often mixed with vodka for Jell-O shots (or jelly shots). This one is obviously not mixed with vodka... Or is it? ;)
  • This might be my last bento for a long time. My husband and I move out of our apartment at the end of the week, and the entire moving process is going to be very long - maybe like a month. My bento is getting packed away, and we pretty much will have to eat out until we are completely moved into our new home. We decided…
