I use mapmyfitness, and only track deliberate exercise. I set my activity level to sedentary, and usually don't eat back any of the calories burned. Don't overthink it.

With venison, keep it simple. It is very lean, so watch your cook times so it doesn't dry out. Most commercial processors will add some pork fat to ground venison to help with that. Do you have just ground meat or other cuts? If just ground, use it just like beef. It makes the best sloppy joe's you'll ever eat.

Just watch the refined carbs (sugar, white flour, white rice, etc). As a type 2 diabetic I try to limit my carb intake to about 125 grams a day, with at least 30grams of fiber. The best method is to try adding small portions of whole grains and see how you feel afterward (I would use my meter to give me solid numbers after…

I've lost 110 pounds over the last 4 years and kept it off, with no surgery or fads. Just make small, incremental changes and it becomes a lifestyle, not a diet! Good luck on your journey, and anyone can feel free to add me if they want. I log daily and try to encourage my friends.

Best.Advice.Ever. I've lost and kept off over 110 pounds since October 2011. Good luck on your journey! It's always easier with friends!

Well played!!!

I'd be really careful about changing diet this close to a race as well. Not a smart plan. Keep doing what your doing, and after the race start to put together a plan that includes training and nutrition. runnersconnect.net/nutrition-for-runners/

Add me if you want. I log daily, have an open diary, and try to help and encourage my friends. God bless!

54, been seriously on the journey for almost 4 years now. Down 110 pounds, with about 20 more to go. Love to walk (with a little running) at least 15 miles a week, and do at least 2 HIIT workouts a week. I log every day (current streak over 300 days). Anyone who wants can add me!

Feel free to add me everyone. I've lost over 100 pounds (about 20 more to go), and would love to share and help in any way. God bless!

YOU CAN NOT REVERSE OR CURE DIABETES! ANYONE WHO CLAIMS IT SHOULD BE AVOIDED!!! The goal for people who are diabetic is to maintain tight control thru diet, exercise, and proper medication when needed. End rant...

This is the best advise here...

Slap yo Mama, the red container. And a little butter.

Hey sheily99! I've lost over 100 pounds and would be happy to be a part of your "team" as you work towards your goal. I log every day and try to be a motivator and encourager. Check out my profile and add me as a friend if you'd like!

5k again today...

2.5 miles today...

This is actually great advice! Don't be in a big hurry to lose it all at once. Setting small goals, and making small, sustainable changes to your diet, will lead to long term success. It's taken me 4 years, but I've lost 110 pounds, and will not be gaining it back! Those small changes over time have become good habits.…

Good luck.

Just another 5k...

4 miles in today.

Logged a 5k yesterday and today...

I've been a type 2 diabetic for many years, and just a few years ago got serious about managing my condition. With the help of my Doctor, we worked hard to get my A1c down to a "normal" level, and I no longer have to take any injectable medications. Here's part of a message I sent to another MFP user... I like to tell…
