Funny. Tonight for me is meatloaf, mashed potato latkes, and green beans. And let me second cookinglight.com. It's a go-to resource for me...

Can I bring my camera? Lol...

I very rarely eat at McD's, and if I do it's almost always breakfast. I do love me a Sonic cheeseburger and tots, and a java chiller shake, but keep that to a treat every few months.

A photo shoot in a beautiful location (Sorry, I am a photographer.) :)

Hey Diane, 53 year old fellow Virgo here, and I've lost 110 pounds over the last 4 years. Started at age 49. I still have about 20 more to go, so feel free to add me as a friend and I'll do what I can to encourage and help along the way. Good luck!

I've lost 110 pounds, with about 20-25 more tho go. You can add me if you'd like. Always willing to help and encourage others on this journey.

Start off walking, and let the running come naturally. It helped me when I started running to set small goals at first. "I'm gonna start running at this light pole and run to the next one." Then walk till you recover, pick another goal, and run to it. Don't be in a big hurry to run full out. Until your body is ready,…

I usually add some kind of flavoring to water, weather it's the mio type stuff you squirt into a glass, or sugar free lemonade mix (sugar free 'cause I'm diabetic, plus lower calories) It's not easy to make these positive changes we all need to make. Just start small and build on the victories. Start with a glass of water…

This is not necessarily normal and why you need to see a doctor. Frequent urination is a symptom of several things, including diabetes. Please see a doctor and get a complete check-up.

There you go!!! Believe in yourself and you'll be unstoppable!

Type 2 since 2001, now under control with Metformin + diet and exercise. Been off injected insulin for about 6 months now. Last A1c was 5.9, and my fasting BG averages about 105. I've lost 110 pounds and run/walk 15-20 miles per week. Welcome to the MFP community!

Log 20 miles running/walking. Lose 1.8 pounds (gets me to 193). Guard against pride and competitiveness. My only competition is me.

Wholeheartedly agree with the bold part. Allow yourself a treat every now and then. Don't feel guilty about it, and move on!

My advice to you would be to start with small lifestyle changes and build from your successes. Stay away from fad diets and gimmicky supplements that promise big results in a short period of time. Think sustainability. Small changes made over time become good habits that stick with us the rest of our lives. It's taken me 4…

110 down, 20 more to go. I'd be happy to help anyone else who has committed themselves to make this journey!

Go see your family doctor, please?!?! Those symptoms could be anything or nothing. Don't take chances with your health.

Become one with your meter. Use it frequently. When I finally took control of my diabetes I tested 8-10 times a day. Fasting, before meals, and hour after meals, 2 hours after meals, and before going to bed. After a few months of doing this, I learned a lot about how certain foods affected my blood sugar levels. I adjusted…

Started on my journey at age 49. Now 53, I've lost 110 pounds, with about 20 more to go. The things that helped me most were making small changes that soon became good habits, and exercise. It doesn't matter what you do, just get your body moving. It's not easy, but it is so worth it! God bless you on your journey to…

Welcome to the club! I'm 53 now, but at age 49 decided it was time to make a change. 4 years later, down 110 pounds with about 20 more to go, and healthier than I've ever been. It's not easy, but it's so worth it.

I've lost 110 pounds over the last 4 years. Go ahead and send me a friend request. I'm all for helping and motivating others!

I've recently hit that same mark. First time since 1978. ;)

Lot's of good advice here. I've found that by making small changes to my diet, I've now developed habits that are ingrained into me. With 100+ pounds lost and about 20 more to go, I have no concerns whatsoever of slipping back. Just keep doing what you know is right. :)

A word of advice from a long time diabetic...Steer clear of the fads and gimmicks that promise to "cure" or "reverse" diabetes. There is no such thing. I have achieved control by losing 100+ pounds, making smart choices about food (use your meter A LOT), and exercise. Our goal is to control. Send me a friend request and…

Been type 2 since 2001. Despite the claims, there is no cure or "reversing" diabetes. I've lost over 100 pounds the last 4 years, and no longer have to take insulin 4x a day. There is no one formula that works for all diabetics. We're all different. You need to find out what works for you by rigorous testing with your…

I'll second the slow and steady approach. I've dropped over 100 pounds, but it's taken me 4 years to do it. The gradual changes I've made are now second nature to me. There's no going back. :)
