I'll have to look into vitamin E, I've had superficial thrombophlebitis before, as well as phlebitis.

I lost almost 60lbs with no exercise :)

I did alternate day IF for my weight loss phase, 5:2IF for the transition period between weight loss and maintenance, and then I currently do 16:8IF as part of my maintenance plan. I love IF, but weight loss really does come down to eating at an appropriate calorie deficit.

Ha, that's what my husband is drinking right now lol. He's using white rum though :)
-
Ah, the lovely oral glucose test, good times :p
-
Huh, I went the opposite direction-started drinking diet soda when I started being intentional about losing weight, because I had just found out my glucose numbers were in the pre-diabetic range (prior to that I drank regular coke). Fast forward to today and my glucose number is solidly in the normal range and my doctor no…

My 7 year old son is drinking a can of diet grape soda right now. Surprisingly, he hasn't turned purple or keeled over yet :p Also, I have pictures that my mom took of me as a toddler, holding a bottle with soda in it. Somehow I've survived to be 36 years old and I'm in pretty awesome health. Go figure.

nevermind, not worth it.

never thought to put oats in my green smoothies-brilliant :) Going to try this next time!
-
That was one of the most awesome things I have ever read lol! And yeah, I also had an epic fail with my paleo experiment a while back. Not ever going back to that, shudder :p

If you're not hungry in the morning then you don't have to eat, meal/calorie timing is a preference thing and nothing more :) I don't usually eat before noon and that works well for me. Otherwise if you're looking for quick and easy-Greek yogurt is a good one. You can add granola, oats or ground flax seed in it too.

Yep, I did alternate day IF for my weight loss phase so I went by a weekly deficit instead of a daily, and it worked great. Now that I'm in maintenance I usually eat a little under on calories during the week and then a bit over on the weekends, again with no problems :)
-
OP, I'm a mom of 3 kids and yes, I lost almost 60lbs without ANY exercise at all-just ate at an appropriate weekly calorie deficit. I also had glucose numbers in the pre-diabetic range and losing the weight stabilized my number (last fasting glucose test was an 86).

Meh, I cut out diet soda as an experiment for several months, a while back, and nothing magical happened. Didn't affect my weight at all, didn't affect my health at all. I did get pretty bored with just drinking water all the time though. I don't drink coffee, flavored waters, juice or milk, and I hadn't discovered tea at…

I weigh them on my food scale in grams, before cooking. Then I find the calories using Nutrition Data (I don't track food here on MFP).

oops, dumb phone! Anyways I'll look at chart later when I can, but my doctor was very happy with my results? I'm considered very low risk for heart disease, have great blood pressure etc. Now I'm curious why you think I have too low cholestetal, didn't know that was a thing-off to google :)
-
I'm on my phone so I can't see chart (will lok

My last blood work done last month- total cholesteral 150, triglycerides 49. Got these numbers by losing the extra weight and doing a few minutes of low impact exercise a week. Keep things simple and focus on eating at an appropriate calorie deficit. Throw in some walking for good measure. Chances are your numbers will…

We chose to have a smaller grocery budget right now, as well as keeping other areas in our budget tight, because we're focusing on paying off debt. We'll be totally debt free, including owning our house outright, completely paying off student loans etc, in 8 years. I'll be 44 and my husband will be 43 :) Being a bit more…

Per my doctor's instruction I take a high dose D3 because I'm deficient (per blood test results). That's it. I was taking fish oil but I stopped that after my doctor told me it wasn't doing anything special for me, based on how good my last blood panel results were.
-
OP-I lost almost 60lbs, improved my health and blood panels, and I've now been successfully maintaining for 2 years. I drink diet soda every.single.day.
-
My weight fluctuates 1-5 pounds on any given day. It's not actual weight gain though :)

In my own experience-yes. I've posted before about my experience with eating 'clean' and my Paleo experiment so I won't re-hash here. But yeah it was scary how fast I developed a distorted and unhealthy relationship with food, which also started affecting other areas in my life. Thankfully I realized what was happening and…

That's not Food grade. The other kind is used in swimming pool filters and such, and yes you have to wear protective gear when handling.

Yep, I use 16:8IF as part of my maintenance plan and most days I fast for 16 hours, eat in an 8 hour window. But, it doesn't 'boost' my metabolism. It's just a tool I use to help keep my calories in check.

and fleas. Though it ruined my vacuum in the process sigh.... OP, I've never eaten it, though I know some people add it to their smoothies and such. I did a lot of reading on it back when my indoor cats developed a flea problem, and from everything I read as long as it's the food grade kind (which you can get pretty cheap…
-
I do IF and it doesn't do anything magical for your metabolism :p
-
I've lost around 60lbs, and I've been successfully maintaining for two years now, doing various forms of IF.
-
I like you.

Agree, there's a few IIFYMers/strict CICO followers who are also pretty narrow focused as well, and don't take into consideration other factors that may be an issue for someone else. I think we ALL project our own experiences on these forums, and I know that for me personally, I need to remind myself from time to time that…
