I use 16:8IF as part of my maintenance plan and I usually only eat two meals a day and then one snack. I break my daily fast at around noon with my biggest meal and it usually clocks in at 1,000+ calories. Then in the afternoon I usually have a protein focused snack, and then a lighter supper at around 6pm. Today- foot…

I don't use milk in my smoothies because I think (any) milk is gross :p I use vanilla or plain yogurt, ice and then whatever veggies and fruits I'm adding, along with ground flax seed.

Yep this. I do 16:8IF (starting to transition to 19:5IF), and I usually eat two meals a day with one snack. My main meal is at noon and can easily be over 1,000 calories. On days where we have supper plans it's not a big deal to just push my big meal to the evening slot and then eat a lighter meal at noon. Meal/calorie…

Yeah this. I have pretty bad eyesight (in the -13 and -14 range). That's one thing that's not really fixable, until I have cataract surgery down the road (I'm not a candidate for lasik surgery). I've never heard of someone actually trying to fix their eyesight with diet-that's uh interesting :p

It will just depend on the area I guess. The farmers market I go to only sells locally produced goods (it's one of their policies). The bigger one in our area has a mix, but the ones who are local growers get a special sign that they get to display on their booth.

This. Fresher definitely tastes better when it comes to produce, especially fruit. That has nothing to do with if it's organic or not though.
-
I weigh meat raw before cooking.
-
No-most varieties of Oreos are indeed vegan and do not contain any animal products.
-
Nope :) I do however make it a priority to buy locally produced food whenever possible. During the growing season in my area I get all my produce from local farms. I love supporting local businesses and also the food is much fresher.

Hmm, that's like one awesome cheesecake :D Yeah, I could totally do that lol.

Thing is, I didn't do this whole thing to get a flat stomach. I did it to get my glucose number stabilized and improve my health. Is it nice to be able to wear clothes better now? Sure. Is that why I worked hard to lose the weight? Nope.

I have a 5lb window. I weigh myself every morning-if my weight is within my 5lb range then I move on with my day. If it creeps over or under it, I make a note of it, and if it stays outside of my range for more than a few days, then I make adjustments (I've only had this happen a couple times so far, in two years of…

Just took a peek at your diary and the thing that stood out to me is you're not eating enough! You're under calories every day, sometimes by over 1,000 calories! Under-eating can cause all sorts of issues. Really try and hit close to your calorie goal.

I have a flat stomach now. It's nice to not have the whole muffin top look going on, and my tank tops don't ride up anymore. But besides that it hasn't changed my life in any profound way :)

I became interested in eating a plant based/vegan diet because of the idea that it was healthier (not for ethical reasons). I spent quite a bit of time reading through websites and books from advocates of this way of eating. People like Furhman, Esselstyn etc etc. I decided to try a whole foods, plant based diet for a few…

Is going to the gym every single day enjoyable to you? Is it sustainable? Just wondering because that sounds awful to me :p Anyways, results come with an appropriate calorie deficit. If you're not seeing any movement on the scale a few things could be going on- you're not accurately accounting for your food (weighing,…

Yep, that's the beauty of this whole thing-you don't have to cut out the foods you like, you don't have to feel guilt when you eat those foods, and you don't have to box yourself in with 'special' food lists that are restrictive and full of things that aren't appealing to you. Just eat what you like, focusing on fitting…

I actually came into the thread after his post was hidden-so of course I had to click on it to expand it :p

This. So this.

Like everyone else said-weight loss isn't linear and the scale will also reflect non-weight related things, like water retention due to exercise, sodium intake etc. I'm in maintenance and I have a 5lb maintenance window, because my weight normally fluctuates that much throughout the month, that has nothing to do with…

Break free of the mentality that a. you HAVE to eat in the morning and b. if you do like eating in the morning, that is HAS to be a 'breakfast' type food. Meal timing is a preference thing and nothing more. If you do like eating in the morning then sure, go for it. But you can eat whatever you want, as long as it fits into…

Ah, no worries then! (I wasn't one of those who flagged you btw :) ).

Aw, thanks :) I do exercise now, but I've also been in maintenance for two years. I actually still don't do a lot though-around 1-1.5 hours a week of walking and then body-weight strength training. The biggest thing for me has just been losing enough weight/getting my bf % down low enough. Then the strength training on top…

OP your profile shows that you're currently trying to lose weight? You cannot do that and build muscle at the same time. In order to build muscle you have to eat at a calorie surplus, along with heavy lifting. You can do heavy lifting while losing weight, to help preserve existing muscle, but that's as far as it goes at…

This. I've never tracked sugar. I do track fiber intake though.

I always weigh meat in its raw form. I very rarely eat it by itself (most of the time I make stirfrys), so weighing before I get started just makes things easier :)
-
Yep, I looked into it a while back and this is my conclusion of it as well.
-
I eat pork tenderloins 2-3 times a week. I cube it and add it to a veggie mix, with brown rice and scrambled eggs. One of my current favorite meals :) And then I have beef steak 2 times a week, one cubed and mixed with veggies and then on Sundays we have steaks on the grill. So I guess I'm overeating red meat. The horror :p
-
Meal timing, meal frequency and what kinds of foods you eat have no bearing on weight loss. Eating at an appropriate calorie deficit does that.

Are you a beachbody coach by chance? Your other post got flagged because it sounded like spam.
