Last year I think I spent $12 for a small container of local, raw honey and it did not last long lol.

This. I find local honey in the summer, at an insane price, and I always buy one container as a treat because I like the taste of it. But that's all it is-a taste preference thing.

I've lost almost 60lbs and I didn't do a minute of exercise during the process-lost the weight by CICO/IF.

Body weight exercises is a great place to start and Mark Lauren's book, You are Your Own Gym is a really great tool to use. No expensive equipment to buy and the guy knows his stuff. I bought the book for under $20 at Barnes and Noble and it's worth its weight in gold :# eta: he also has a book specific for women, called…

From my own experience-weight loss is 80% mindset, 20% calories and math. If your mind isn't in the right place you're going to fail/yo-yo diet. Something that has really stuck with me over the past few years as I've gone through this process-when my husband and I went to our pre-marital counseling our pastor asked what…

Mcds bacon grilled chicken salad with a packet of Southwest dressing. First time trying it and it was really good!

Unless you have a food sensitivity/allergy there's no need to cut things out that you enjoy eating, just factor them into your calorie goals and you're good to go :)

Are you being sarcastic or actually serious? You can most definitely continue to eat biscuits, sweets, fast food, birthday cake, ice cream etc etc etc while losing weight-just make sure they fit within your calorie goals. The trend seems to be to make this whole weight loss thing overly complicated when it's actually very…

I've lost almost 60lbs and have been in maintenance for two years now-end of the day it comes down to CICO.
-
This-it's pretty much physically impossible for you to have gained that much weight, in that little amount of time. It's not real weight gain.
-
Yep, I'm a 36 yr old mom who's carried three pregnancies to full term, and I got a totally flat stomach just by losing enough weight. Didn't do any exercise at all either. I did have to adjust my original goal weight down around 15lbs though to get to that point.

Leangains/Mark Berkhan is where I got a lot of my info on it, a great site to check out if you're interested in this (it's not active anymore, but he's kept up all his articles).

Also a sahm here-through active weight loss and now maintenance I always figure sedentary/little exercise. I didn't exercise at all during my weight loss phase and now that I'm in maintenance I do a little, but nothing that's burning large amounts of calories (walking a couple miles a week and right now I'm doing a squats…

One thing I had to learn while I was in active weight loss mode, is that I had to remove emotion from the scale. Once I got to that point I was able to really get my head in the right place and focus on what's important/long term success. Enjoy your holiday, be mindful of your choices/portion sizes, don't weigh yourself…

16:8IF refers to having an 8 hour eating window and then you 'fast' for 16 hours. I break my daily fast at around 11am and then wrap up eating at around 7pm. There's difference variations of it-some people do 5 hour windows, 7 hour windows etc. Outside of my eating window I don't consume calories, except for trace ones in…

I lost my weight with alternate day IF, so I did an every other day rotation. On my Down days I stayed within 300-500 calories, but on my Up days I made sure to eat higher calories (I'd go over 2,000 calories some up days and I wasn't exercising). It's really important that you eat at maintenance levels on your Up days. If…

You really have to watch out for restaurant condiments, some of them are brutal for calories!

Banana Girl has sucked in another one sigh... yeah just leave her be-she'll figure it out sooner than later that it's a crappy way to eat. The chances of her actually sticking to it long term is almost nil.

Mine is leftover marinated chicken, added to sauted mushrooms, bell pepper and onions (with olive oil). Will also have a sweet potato with a bit of ranch dressing on top. I'm currently doing an elimination type diet to try and pinpoint the culprit of some health issues I have, so I'm grain free/low carb right now. eta:…

-female/36 years old (two years into maintenance) -5'6" -124.5lbs -my maintenance plan has been 16:8IF and some mental CICO math (would aim for 1,500-2,200 calories and it all kind of evened out over a week's time). However, I just started tracking again and eating at a deficit, of 1,350 calories yesterday, to take care of…

I've been in maintenance for two years now and my diet has been anything/everything I like, but in smaller portions (along with 16/8IF). I haven't kept a food journal since I made the transition and have been able to keep within my maintenance range (120lbs-125lbs) pretty effortlessly. However, over the past couple of…

Will have to check them out-thanks! And I'm also a Michigander :)

Unfortunately it's going on a week with the dumb thing blech. I just started low carb today :)
-
Just had my third cup of tea-can't taste it at all, but it felt nice and warm on my sore throat :)
-
Well I survived my first day of being grain free/low carb :) I have a miserable cold right now so my appetite is down. And tonight it's affecting my taste buds so I can't taste anything sigh... Going to call it a day-calories are a little low, at 1,021, but I'm not going to force myself to eat anything more being sick.…

I don't know a lot about keto-that's really low carb right? I'm going from SAD/loosely keeping an eye on calories in maintenance, to aiming to hit under 100 carbs (just picked a random number really lol). Have you totally given up grains or just wheat? How does keto work once you transition into maintenance-do you still…

Yeah, put that all together and you have a meal lol. OP-I do 16/8IF and break my fast at around 11am-no calories before then. When I do break my fast I make sure it's a solid meal that will keep me full for a long time. Today I had 8 ounces of pork, veggies and mushrooms, a sweet potato and then condiments (steak sauce for…

Thanks for sharing! So excited to think I may start having more energy after I make the transition! That alone would be worth the dietary adjustments :)

At 1,200 calories and 90 carbs (was aiming for 100 but the % ratio option was being difficult), puts me at 105 protein (tried to get close to the .8 per pound rule), and then 47 grams of fat. Plus I adjusted the sugar to 40g. I may bump up my calories though a bit like you suggested and see how things go first. Or maybe do…

Clear headed and having more energy sounds absolutely wonderful!! Ok, going to give this whole thing a try :) Just adjusted my diary settings for a lower carb diet and setting carbs at 90 (last time I recorded my carb intake about a year ago I was eating over 200 a day). Adjusted protein/fat/sugar as well. Going to go…
