Thanks again for all of the kind words. The suggestions on resources explaining the Primal/Paleo lifestyle are all good ones that should help explain the basics.

I've made Elderberry tincture with dried Elderberries and Vodka that worked well and stored forever. Alcohol is no longer in my plan, and the concentrate is easier to use and more concentrated than my tincture was. Your syrup sounds pretty awesome.

I like the term "Flock of Seagulls" for the trolls that attack anything Paleo/Primal/Natural in the forums. They fly about in groups, make lots of unintelligible noise, and defecate over everything.

Hmmm... after the word "Concentrate" should be "...without any sugar..."

Wyldwood Cellars makes an Elderberry Concentrate or artificial sweeteners that works very well.

When building recipes you can change serving size when adding ingredients. Say you search for chicken. You choose chicken with 3 oz serving size. Click on the 3 oz and choose cup from the drop down. Cals and macros will adjust accordingly.

Bone broth would help you to feel better and recover quicker. That may not be easy for you to get right now, but something to have on hand when you get a chance. Craving carbs on the second day is normal when transitioning to a lower carb food intake. Your body is craving the quick boost from the simple carbs. Eating…

Good on you lippincottbusinedd, great job. And yes, Mountain Dew is bad. Calling MD a food is quite the stretch.

I like Alton Brown's Pot O' Greens.

Here is an excellent article on How to Spice Up Any Meal, Literally.

Hi Coconuttymummy, if you scroll down just a bit you will find the topic "Recipe Books". Lots of good ideas listed there. Also, the sticky with reading material has quite a few ideas listed.

I've added potatoes back intoy diet after I completed the weight loss phase. Usually purple or sweet potatoes, but I will eat the rare white potato. I use the potatoes to get my carbs up to around 100 gr/ day.

I have been eating Paleo/Primal for a year now. Yogurt, since you seem to have no issues with milk products, will be totally acceptable for you to eat. It is a great source of pre-biotics.

Hello, my name is John and I have been eating Primally since May 5th, 2014. When I started I weighed 251 lbs with a BMI of 33.2. I was officially obese. I also had a disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Basically my lungs were reacting to some past damage and had gone into overdrive creating scar tissue. My…

It is easiest to track total carbs. Personally, I also keep a general eye on sugars. The best part of the primal/paleo lifestyle is that it is easy.

I have a pasta pot that always boiled over when I had the pasta basket inserted. It was relegated to the garage for years. Now that I have bone broth on pretty much a daily basis, I've found that it makes an excellent broth pot.

You can add me to your friends list if you wish. I log daily and enjoy seeing how others are doing. I've been following paleo/primal for a year now. I lost 90 pounds and am now maintaining a niece weight.

I set my protein macro first. Basically 1 gr protein/pound of lean body weight. Then I set my carb macro. My upper limit on carbs is 125 gr/day. I usually end up 85 - 90 gr/day. Whatever % that is left goes to fats. I am maintaining a very stable weight, have lots of energy, and am very satisfied with my intake with these…
