I have a vita-mix that I use nearly every day. My recipe for a 500 calorie smoothie is: 1 frozen banana, 8 oz. frozen blueberries (I live in blueberry country!), 1 scoop of protein powder, 8 oz. plain homemade yogurt, 1 tbs cacao powder, and 8 oz of water. Delicious - I have it nearly every day for breakfast!

Congratulations on your training. Your August event sounds fun -- is it the Goofy Run at DisneyWorld? Qualifying for Boston has always been one of my goals. I came within 7 minutes of qualifying in 2009 but I have not been as close since. Not carrying around the extra weight might help! Who knows -- maybe this will be the…

Just put a salmon fillet skin-side down on the grill topped with some garlic, salt and lots of pepper. You may want to add a bit of olive oil. Don't overcook it -- it usually just takes a few minutes depending upon the thickness of the filet. Most important, it has to be wild salmon. Don't bother with that farmed stuff --…
