I agree that's disgusting, but my food looks nothing like that. If I remember to, I'll take a pic of my dinner this evening and post it. I don't even know what entree that is you posted--I've had nothing that looks like that!

I started with walking like others have suggested. I'm only three months post-total knee replacement so something low impact was what I needed. I didn't walk far or fast at first, but after a couple months, I'm up to at least three miles a day between 3.5 and 4 mph. I even walked a 5K a couple weeks ago. It doesn't take…

That's a meal from 10 years ago. LOL. The frozen food looks much better and I'm sure tastes better than the food from 10 years ago. I wouldn't be able to stay on the program if that's what my meals looked like!

I've been on NS for just under three months and have lost 24.5 pounds. I love the program. It's not for everyone, but it works well for me. In addition to portion control so you eat at a deficit, it's also comprised of foods that are low on the glycemic index. My body responds well to the program and I'm very pleased with…

I also work a desk job and it's a challenge! I park as far away from the entrance as the parking lot allows. I use the bathroom that's the farthest away from my desk. When going to the copy room, I take a round about way to get there. Whenever I pass the staircase, I go up and back down before heading where I need to go.…

I agree. I've never even heard of someone in the U.S. thinking it odd to have a scale. That said, I grew up with a scale in the kitchen. We didn't use it for a lot, but we had one in case we needed it.

You can be totally confident in your body and still want it to look better. I don't think that's a negative message. If it came up, I'd just say something like, "I'm at a healthy weight and I feel great, so now I'm going to work on toning my muscles (or whatever your focus is)." That's not a negative message. :)

I hate it when someone asks a question and then everyone piles on and doesn't answer it but tells the OP what to do...but, this time I have to agree that the best way to curb your appetite is with food within your target calorie range. If you choose foods that are filling, that will help you resist snacking. I eat every…

I have raised five girls, and sometimes I wish I could go back and deal better with body issues. I've never been verbal about the issues I have with my body, but they pick things up nonetheless. I understand your concerns, but I think using a food scale is a positive thing--it's an opportunity to show them that it's…

Because that's my opinion and and she asked for opinions.

OP, I'm on NS and really like the program. I agree with the PP who said it sounds like the 1200 plan is not appropriate for you. If you want to connect with other NS members, send me a message and I'll fill you in on the groups that are here on MFP. I personally don't use their FB page--don't need the world to know about…

I think it depends on the person. Cutting off early to prevent binging seems counter-intuitive to me. For me, it would do the exact opposite of not being tempted...

As others have said, it's bull. I eat a snack shortly before bedtime every evening. If I were to quit eating three or four hours before bedtime, I'd end up eating way too much because will power doesn't work as well as not being hungry. :)

I've never mixed it and then put it in the fridge--always consumed it right away. That may be part of the issue. But, it doesn't smell bad to me at all. It doesn't taste exactly like regular PB, but it's a darn good substitute. I'll mix some up and put it on a toasted NS bagel, but mostly I use it to make a chocolate-PB…

That sounds lovely! How nice to get to know your SIL so well. :) You have a lot going on! Ten pounds in 55 days is doable! Good luck!!
-
Christine, welcome! You can totally drop some if not all of that weight by then! We're here to support you. :) So, tell us about the colors and the dress and such. :) Jayne

Julie, with all that exercise you did, that pound could simply be water being retained by your muscles as they repair. I cleaned out my storage unit last weekend--three days of lifting and moving boxes, and gained 3 pounds!! But, it was water weight and went away within a few days and I dropped a little bit of real weight…

Sounds like you're making lots of progress! My daughter is coming over later this week to talk about some of the details she wants me to work on, so I'm hoping to be able to post soon things like the ring bearer pillow are done! :)

Are you sure there isn't a minus in front of the 99? I'm asking because when I awake every morning, MFP tells me (based on my fitbit data) I've earned a negative number of calories from exercise and it's always between 90 and 99. That changes throughout the day, but when I awaken is the only time I have a negative…

I do believe there's a difference between weighing and measuring (I weigh my food on a scale)--I'm not disputing that. But the video is like a bad infomercial. I'm just saying I've never seen someone use measuring cups like that. It was ridiculous to me. The point was almost lost on me because I was laughing at "this is…

Julie, just saw your post. How's your week shaping up? Are you getting in that exercise and watching what you're eating? Think of yourself in that MOB dress, walking down the aisle to your seat. You want to look fantastic, right? You can do this!!

Have you talked with your doctor about how much your hypothyroidism is a factor? I would think that would definitely play in this. Has your doctor given you any help on how to lose weight with your condition? Is there such a thing as a nutritionist that specializes in weight loss and hypothyroidism? As a PP said, weighing…

Good idea. When I started NS there were two recycling companies near me that accepted styrofoam. So, I've been saving them up to take the there. I had four as of my last shipment so I looked up which companies again, and they no longer accept it. I hadn't even thought about someplace like Goodwill. Thanks!

I didn't walk yesterday, but did spend 8 hours cleaning out the storage unit so I burned a ton of calories! MFP says more than 1,000, but I think that's a serious overestimate. Nonetheless, I know I burned a lot! :) I'm back at it today and should finish the job. I'm hoping to get an actual walk in as well. We shall see. :)
-
That sounds wonderful! :) I hope your medical issues are minor and quickly resolved!

I walked by the park again yesterday and did 3 miles. :) I'm working from home today, but I'll make sure I get at least two in today. I'm feeling blue over some work news from yesterday, so the endorphins will be a nice lift. I sound like a drug addict! LOL.

We're here to support you! :) It's kind of the relationship we share--lots of joking and laughter. :) As long as mine sticks with it once I start, she can change it as much as she wants! But, once I start, there will be no more changes! :)

Yep. Never got the email. I called on Friday and asked about it and they're shipping my 20-pound bear to me separate from my BBB that's processing now. That's been the case for both my bears--looks like they don't have the new system down yet. I'd give them a call if I were you.
