Thank you I'll get searching for one. You have all been so helpful even though I didn't post the question in the first place.

If you straight back into logging your daily menu plan and keep within your calories the weight will soon come off. Add me if you want to.

I am a Londoner - well Eastender to be precise. I moved to Dagenham - my parents did - in 1967 and then the same year to Suffolk. In 1992 to I moved to the North East and then in 2012 moved back to Suffolk.

Happy for you to add me. I've lost 2 stones but have another 2 stone to go. Please feel free to add me. The more the merrier especially if you are in the UK.

Add me as a friend and check out my food diary. Do the same with other members. It is important to establish a routine for yourself. gradually your body will begin to recognise hunger and then you will want to eat. Don't ignore the signals they are there for a reason. Log everything as it does make you food aware. it will…

I have callipers but all the information I have been given body fat percentage measurement is one of the hardest to ascertain and it doesn't tend to be reliable.

patmid thanks for letting me know you have bought one. It will be interesting to see how you get on with it. Have a good holiday.

Can I ask a question? Using the heart rate monitor on the charge HR what is the limit it will reach. All the reviews I've read says it won't push above 150 BPM. This seems ridiculous as men will probably be above this all the time when exercising. I'm reaching 145 BPM on some exercises and it is vital I know where I am.…

I am trying to decide whether to buy the charge HR.

Name: Pauline Height: 5' 3" Age: 67 Starting Weight: February 2010 - 219 lbs - on joining MFP - 191 lbs Goal Weight (May1): 189 lbs Starting Weight (May1) 190lbs - 13st 8lbs Goal Weight (June1) 183 lbs - 13 st 3lbs Final Goal : 154 lbs - 11 st - Christmas 2014 then need to reassess 1st May: I stayed the same today - 190lbs…

Hi Patmid have you bought one yet? I am reading so many conflicting reviews I don't know what to do.
-
This is very hard to achieve. Have you put your profile into MFP and if you have how much weight have you put that you want to lose each week? That is how many calories you need to stick to each day. Then you have to plan out what you want to eat within that allowance. Only you can decide that. You are more than welcome to…

Exactly what I was going to write. I then combine it with diet.

This forum was set up as a challenge for the month to record your weight losses. Hope this helps.

My theory is whatever you choose to do is to think, "Could you live like that for life?" If so go for it. That is what I am trying to do. There will be deviations but that is to be expected whatever you do.

I weigh morning and night every day and I can cope with it. My official weigh in day is Friday

I agree a tough target but stick with it.

I've had "weight" problem all my life according to my mum. However it wasn't really a problem until 1998 and then I was constantly on a diet. I then reached 16 stone in 2009 and I decided i really had to do something. I got down to 15st 8lbs by February 2010 then by September the same year I lost 2st 2lbs. I then stayed…

I would be very interested to hear how you get on. I really want to buy one but don't want to waste my money. I really need the HR.
-
I will add you as a friend. Where do you live in London?
-
Not sure what you are eating or how many calories. It sometimes pays to change what you are eating as the body easily gets used to what it is consuming. May need to slightly adjust your calories. Hope this helps.
-
I'd be interested to know how you get on with it. I have to monitor my HR and I currently use a body strap and watch. All the articles I've read on the FtiBit HR suggest it is unreliable for that purpose. Thanks.

Click on the person's name and you will get their profile page. Click add friend and then another page and click add friend again.

I agree with all the other comments. Diet needs to be balanced as regards to the food groups. Protein is very important as it helps to repair damaged cells and builds muscle which then burn calories. Have to agree your diet sounds carb heavy but then I don't know what most of it is. You can get carbs from vegetables and…

Calorie controlled using the daily sheet on MFP. This gives you ownership of your own choices and how they fit into your calorie allowance. Over time it will help to change your choices to help prevent you going back to the ways that led you to become overweight in the first place. Planning is important. If you can manage…

Thank you for posting this. It has saved me buying a more expensive band because it was HR monitor that I need. I currently use a body band and watch. I have a cheap wristband for activity.

ZYXST. I agree with your comments but if you are new you may not know what works for you or even how you get there.

Like everything some doctors know about nutrition and others don't. I've been to dietitians and all they did is show me a plate of food with no advice. How many calories have MFP suggested you have? What is this based on in terms of exercise? I never add my exercise into MFP and I don't adjust for it. However I've been…

Welcome. Can I please suggest that the basis for successfully sticking to your food diary is PLANNING - PLANNING AND MORE PLANNING. There is nothing worse than going to the fridge and having no idea what you are going to eat. This generally leads to just grabbing anything that happens to be there and it could well be…
