  • I'm in Suffolk and I've been off for about a year came back 29th January. Doing fine at the minutes following the Fast 800 Plan.
  • Suffolk. Although I am a Londoner (East End), also live in Teesside.
  • Hello Lanette and pleased to find another person following the same plans. I weigh in on a Tuesday morning and will post how I am getting on.
  • Good afternoon here in sunny Suffolk UK. I am 71 yrs of age and actually been a member here since 2014. Due to family circumstances I have been absent here for some time. Amazingly I am still down on my joining weight but that isn't enough. I reckon I want to aim for a 40lb loss. Size is equally as important and I don't…
  • Hello everyone. I am not a complete Noob as I have been a member since 2014. However due to family issues have not posted here for a very long time. Amazingly I haven't gone back to the weight I was when I first joined MFP. However I still have a lot to lose. I am aiming for around 40lbs. I am on the "Fast 800" plan by Dr…
  • I am trying to stabilise my insulin and therefore reducing fast release carbs (those that turn to sugar in an instant). I have cut out white bread and potatoes (apart from new potatoes). I have 2 pieces of fruit a day (not bananas or grapes) and trying to increase my vegetable / salad intake. MFP is very good at measuring…
  • This looks an interesting group. I'm not new to MFP but have just rejoined. I lost my mum a year ago and it has affected me in many ways. In respect of MFP I struggled to get to the supermarket. If I managed it I wouldn't be able to cook the food I bought. This led me to not eating enough and snacking on unhealthy foods. I…
  • I've rejoined several times. I lost my mum a year ago and I've been really struggling and it has affected my life in many ways. However I feel I am ready to tackle the battle of shopping, cooking and eating. I would welcome anyone who feels free to add me.
  • Oh by the way I should have added that I will be 70 in August and I am hosting a garden party on the 12th so this fits in nicely.
  • I am unable to find where to post weight and inches - help?
  • My weight loss journey has been a roller coaster. I was with Tesco eDiets and got down to 13 stone from 16 stone. They closed their site down. I then joined MFP at around 14 stone. I did good when I had a personal trainer and got to 12.5 stones. That went pear shaped because he was married to my daughter and then left her.…
  • Hi I've been a member for quite a while now. Suffered some personal problems and fell off the edge of the earth. Hopefully I am back now. I live in Suffolk add me if you want to.
  • I'm a returner to MFP and I live in Suffolk although I originally come from the East End of London. I've also live in the North East for 20 years.
  • I got my FitBit yesterday and still learning how to use it. I've bought the large one and think I probably needed the small. Not sure if I can change it now I have set it up. Does anyone know if the watch part is a different size on the small and large? Thanks
  • Oh yes scales do not work on soft surfaces. They should always be placed on a solid surface for accuracy.
  • How reliable is the heart rate function? Thank you.
  • A reasonable weight loss average is 1 - 2lbs per week. Aim for your goal but don't fall down if you don't reach it. Whatever your weight by October, if you continue to lose weight, is less than you weight today.
  • Again add me as a friend and then take inspiration from all the members I am friends with.
  • Finding the inspiration to take on eating better and working out regularly has to come from within. As boring and annoying as it might be logging your calories every day is key. Next to that is planning, planning and more planning and then doing your best to stick to the plan. I found that I needed to tackle it in stages.…
  • Most reputable "diet" sites wouldn't suggest a 1000 calorie a day regime. They mainly start at 1200. That is from a female point of view. As a male you would need far more. Start by working out your BMR then your TDEE and then decide how much you want to lose every week. You need to reduce by 500 calories a day for a pound…
  • Each time I have a cup of tea I drink a glass of water before it. I then don't forget. I also drink a glass of water as soon as I get out of bed. I take medication at night so a glass of water before going to bed.
  • Hi first and foremost you need to be eating nutritious food to provide a good milk source. I've breast feed 3 children and I found the weight naturally dropped off while I was doing it. However you have said this isn't happening for you. Have you lost any weight? I know you have given your goal weight but what is your…
  • Hi PurpleMilly. First and foremost it depends on what your aims are as to how you want to distribute your macros. I have a personal trainer and he wants me to increase my protein to build more muscle which will help to burn more calories. I am on 1423 calories a day and my split is 30% carbs and protein and 40% fat.…
  • Please feel free to add me as a friend. The more support the better.
  • Hi Samantha it is interesting that you say "quit my diet" as I realised a long time ago losing weight and keeping it off is for life. So I'm not on a diet but a healthy eating plan - for life - I may deviate along the way but trying to stick to it. I wish you luck.
  • I'm from London but live in Suffolk. Please feel free to add me.
  • Good morning from the UK. I maintained for almost 3 yrs - trouble was - it was at a weight 2 stone heavier than I wanted to be. However I had lost 2 stones so managed to keep that off. To be honest you hope that as you are getting to target you are re-educating yourself. Tastes change and you find that you can do without…
  • It is take your pick where I live. Also to an extent people shop in the supermarket that is most convenient to where they live. We have Tesco, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Aldi and the Co-Op. I never shop in Aldi or the Co-Op. My daughter tells me that the vegetables in Aldi are good but not yet tried. I tend to do my main big…
  • http://simplegreensmoothies.com Check out this site another member sent the details to me. They don't include protein powders but nothing stops you adding them if you so wish. I've ordered a NutriNinja to use to make my shakes.
