At 6'0 and 170 lbs and 19 years old the LAST thing I would do is go on caloric deficit. Get on a good weight training program and learn when to eat carbs and get those muscles growing...muscle burns the fat. Maybe eat maintenance for a while and lean out at current weight before stair stepping your caloric increases.…

I'm doing a 5 day split (3 on, 1 off, 2 on, 1 off). 4-5 sets in rep ranges of 10-12. Add weight and more sets over time to keep going.

The carb powders in weight gainers (maltodextrine et al) are super cheap of bought in bulk seperately. Much cheaper to make your own weight gainer with bulk carb powders and then you can choose much higher quality whey protein than what usually comes with the weight gain shakes. Pick up the weight. And then put it down. And just keep doing this...and the hunger will come...your muscles will grow...and you will gain muscle mass...which I assume is the type of weight that you want gain.

Not sure if your fitness goals...but yeah...you can get the weight loss results of someone who makes up calories in Alcohol. Or you can get the results of someone who does't make up calories in alcohol....which is a decision I eventually made. When you are at deficit calories...you may consider getting the highest quality…

I wound always get the required protein know matter what...then adjust and time the carbs around weight training (peri workout) get in the right saturated fats to get that T up. Happy lifting.
