  • That’s great! Kudos to you
  • I purchased an inexpensive treadmill desk on amazon. I had the intention of working while walking but I find it a little difficult to focus on the work and keep my balance at the same time while walking. So, I’ve changed my use of it a bit while I’m getting used to it. I started watching Downton Abbey on amazon but only…
  • I'm having the same issue. I made some changes to my activity level and my calories changed for tomorrow. I can't fix it.
  • I've had better success on here. I have supportive friends on here and it's free, so that's two ways it is better for me to be on here. Best of luck! Feel free to friend me if you need support!
  • I just bake them in the oven with the spicy peach salsa from trader joes on top. Yum!
  • I do interval running after reading about it on Jeff Galloway's website. It involves alternating running and walking but I haven't done any sprinting. I find that it helps to burn a lot of fat and calories, mostly because it allows me to go longer. I'm not in love with running but it keeps me active and I'm losing weight.…
  • Having a great group of friends on here is so helpful and what helps me to keep logging in every day. I'm having more success with less perceived effort than I did on WW. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like. I'm on here every day and try to support and encourage my friends!
  • Me too! I eat almost the same thing for breakfast and lunch every day. Do you like cottage cheese? That would help you out with protein. Eggs, too. I sometimes boil up a whole dozen and take two with me to work each morning until they are gone.
  • I did WW probably 3 or 4 separate times without much success. Thinking there wasn't anything better out there, I was about to rejoin as an online subscriber (at about $20 per month!) and remembered hearing of this and checked it out. So glad I did! It's very similar to the WW online service but for me, it is working so…
  • That's a great start! You should see some positive changes in the next few days and weeks if you keep at it. Feel free to add me and we can encourage each other.
  • Good for you for being here! Try to log in each day and like others have said, measure accurately and log everything. Also I recommend adding friends and using the social aspect of MFP for the encouragement and help it provides. Also it feels really good to help and encourage others! Feel free to add me! I'm on here every…
  • It takes time, patience, and dedication. If you track everything, stay within your calorie goals and exercise you should see results. Most of all, trust the process and be patient. Despite what new products are out there there really isn't a magic pill that will help you lose weight and be able to sustain that weight loss.…
  • There is another thread on here about the shine that a lot of people have used to connect with each other. Feel free to add me (here and there). My username there is karineumann. The shine is great for my purposes!
  • Hi Clara, feel free to add me. I'm on here every day and will be supportive!
  • I signed up for the Brooklyn rock n roll half marathon and was a complete non-runner up until 2 months ago. I would suggest reading online or getting a book about how to train for it. In fact, I think the runners world magazine website has training plans out there for the different distances. I'm running a 5k this weekend…
  • I just searched for an interval timer app and downloaded a free one. It's basic, but does everything I need and I run it along with my iTunes and also map my run at the same time. A little drain on the battery but not too bad.
  • Congratulations!! Thanks for sharing. Your story is truly inspiring.
  • In addition to C25K, you can look up Jeff Galloway on google or look at his books on Amazon. He promotes a run/walk/run method of running distances and races so that you can achieve your goals and run without getting injured. I switched from C25k to this approach and I am able to run longer distances without the fatigue or…
  • Sign up for something like a 5k so you have a goal. You don't have to run it all if you don't want to but you have to exercise so that you can build up endurance and maybe you will be able to run to whole thing.
  • Feel free to add me! I'm on here daily!
  • Hi, good luck in your journey! I used to have a commute like yours (75 mi each way!) and it really sucks the life out of you. I hope you won't have that forever... Sending a request to you. Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
  • I agree with the advice above. MFP is in many ways about learning what makes you feel good, feel bad, gain weight, lose weight... Learning learning learning! Pre-logging helps me maintain control over my day and if I had room for the croissant I would have had it and enjoyed it!
  • Hi, I'm 44 also and have decided to get healthy also! I'm on here daily and try to be encouraging. I'll send you a request. :)
  • I'm on here daily and try to be supportive to everyone. Feel free to add me!
  • Chelsea, glad you got resolution to the problem and that you are happy with it! I love my shine and feel naked when I'm not wearing it. Enjoy!
  • Request sent!
  • Sending request
  • All of the above and also watch the salt intake. Some people have more success when they eat more protein and less carbs so you need to look at what works (or doesn't work) for you alone and adjust your goals, including your macros. Good luck! Feel free to add me if you'd like
