My understanding is that the carb macro is a maximum to not exceed, your protein is a macro you should hit/ get very close to consistently, and the fat macro is just one to fill the void. It's also important to look at your weight loss as a whole. If over the course of a couple weeks you "gain" 2 pounds, but lose 4, that's still a net loss of 2 pounds.
