  • Think of all the foods you like that are not carbs. Eat a lot of those foods. Have you been on diets where you couldn't have much butter? What about mayo? You can have that now in abundance. I'm saying try to focus on the things you CAN enjoy instead of the things you can't. I'm still learning this, too, and that's what…
  • Thanks for your response. I don't have a regular doctor at the moment in which I could ask what they recommend. But I'll certainly ask about that the next time I find myself in a doctor's office.
  • I think the 6g carbs is the amount per serving in the dry mix alone with no milk added. I'm not 100% positive but I'm fairly certain.
  • Does this mean that it's important to keep protein low? I've had problems with my kidneys since I was 5 years old and my kidney function is not that great now. So if I should be keeping my protein low, I definitely need to know about that. Gsp, thank you for asking this.
  • None of us like avocado, either. Lol. I like the cheese/berries/nuts idea but I think she might appreciate cheesecake more. Maybe berries on the cheesecake. ;) thanks y'all.
  • That might work. Thanks! :)
  • Thanks. That's a big help. :)
  • Yes, weekends are a lot more protein and a lot less fat because my foods have been primarily based on whatever was cooked on the grill (meat and veggies). I'm not really sure how I can increase fat intake eating grilled foods. We buy ground turkey from Costco because it's actually a lot cheaper than the ground beef. But I…
  • I'm not necessarily expecting to lose 12 pounds water weight. I was just expecting the weight that I've lost to not return on weekends. If I had no gain and no loss on weekends, then I'd be 12 pounds lighter now. I guess I should have been more clear. A few weeks ... I've been logging for 19 days. I am very a*al about…
  • Thanks so much. Happy Mother's Day to you, too! The YMCA wouldn't be a bad deal but I'm not sure if we can afford it at the moment. We just signed our daughter up for daycare last Friday and she starts in a week. It costs more than I was hoping to pay, but I've been looking for work and recently had to turn down a nice job…
  • I sent you a friend request. Thanks!
  • No, I haven't tried incorporating any exercise on the weekends. :/ I should probably at least get a decent walk in every day.
  • I know I'm not going to lose it all in a month. I'm just discouraged because I'm not seeing any progress. What I looked forward to about the restaurants is that's the only time off that I have from the kitchen. I feel like I'm constantly in the kitchen cooking for me and everyone else and the weekends were like my break.…
  • My diary settings are set to public. I just double checked. Not sure why you can't see it. Sorry about that. I'm actually eating lower carbs and more meat on weekends. .which is when I'm gaining the weight. I guess that's why it's so confusing. Yesterday was my lowest carb day for the whole week, I think. I am not…
  • disheartening to think I can't do anything about it but thank you for your honesty
  • I have it set for 56g but I usually average around 15-30 Total carbs. Yesterday was 14 total carbs, 11 NET. Gained a pound. :(
  • 165 pounds was the average for the first week. 162 pounds was the average this week. So 3 pounds? What's going on here? I see most people saying they lose 3 times that much just in water weight alone. I guess 3 pounds is 3 pounds but if I weren't gaining it back every weekend, I'd have lost over 12 pounds by now. Is there…
  • I've had alcohol with diet soda every Saturday night since I started low carb about 3-4 weeks ago. And every time I do it, I gain back everything I lost during the week. Guess who's not drinking this Saturday? Lol. Apparently I'm one of those that doesn't fare well with alcohol. Individual results may vary.
  • Oh! If you're wanting flavored creamer, I've discovered that sugar free Torani syrup (in the coffee aisle) with a little HWC makes an AWESOME flavored creamer. I just tried it for the first time this week and very impressed.

  • Very encouraging and congrats on the losses!
  • I actually had a lot more constipation before I started low carb. I think it's largely due to increased fat intake and now I use stevia in my coffee instead of sugar. I'm not sure that stevia has anything to do with it, but if not, it's awfully coincidental that I'm usually in the bathroom within an hour of drinking my…
  • http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/cream_cheese_clouds.html I've been eating cream cheese clouds this week and I absolutely love them. No expensive ingredients and super easy to make.
  • Southern Comfort and diet 7-up. That's been my go-to on the weekends and I gain all my weight back every weekend, so calling it quits for awhile.

  • I'm not sure if Atkins allows sweeteners. If it does, you might enjoy cream cheese clouds.
  • Tuna, mayo, eggs, pork rinds, cheese, butter, chicken, tilapia, cream cheese, broccoli, bell pepper, Crystal light, pepperoni, strawberries, celery, stevia
  • This one's got a lot of loves so definitely gonna have to try this one at least!
  • Feel free to add me. I'm new to low carb and not exactly doing Atkins, but I welcome mutual support. :)
  • Thanks!
  • Awesome. . That's what I was hoping to hear. Lol
