Maryanne, how is your recovery going? I was at the eye surgeon today for a 4 week check up after my surgery. We’re both pleased with the results. I still have some inflammation in the eyelids where the stitch lines are. He told me not to put anything on the eyelids after the first two weeks. For the next month, I’m…

I hope the surgery was a success and that you’re not in too much pain. Do you know when you go to rehab?

I’m sure you’ll feel better once you have the surgery appointment settled. Uncertainty is the worst.

a lot of the condos are still rebuilding. We’ve stayed at Loggerhead Cay several times. I thing they’re 2 bedroom units but they’re nice. Another big condo place is Sundial. Relatives stayed there and liked it. We used VIP Vacation Rentals the one time we rented a house. I see where they have joined a group called Glass…

Pam, I’m so glad you weren’t in danger from the floods. But it’s terrible that some of your friends are injured or missing.

We didn’t see any fireworks this year. They shoot them off at a community picnic several days before the holiday. It was overcast and all the fireworks went into a cloud bank. So not a single rocket was visible. On 7/2, a country club near us was having a professional show set up. The fireworks on the truck exploded…

We traded in a 2022 Tacoma for a 2025 model. DH feels the need for a truck, especially with all the stuff we take to FL. This model is a foot longer in the bed and a few inches deeper so That’s a plus. And it has some additional safety measures.
-
Pam are you safe from the TX flooding?

The lease on our truck was running out so we stopped at Toyota Thursday to look at replacements. Our sales rep and the finance guy both saw me with bruises and stitches. We picked up the new truck today and the finance guy commented on how much better I looked since the stitches are out. My left eye is almost bruise free.…

My stitches came out today. I was glad to see them go. They were causing the itching and some tenderness where the stitches were. My bruising is much improved. The left eye is almost back to normal and the right eye will clear over the next few weeks. The dr could tell I followed all his instructions about icing. He said…

That’s impressive you had so little swelling and bruising. I look like I was in a car wreck or that I was mugged. My bruises are red and purple. The itching has eased up some but I’m still using the ointment. Six more days until stitches come out. I hope to see improvement by then.

The itching has kicked in. That’s been the worst part of the surgery. I’m pretty bruised but no pain. The ointment helps the itch. I was supposed to ice hourly for 2 days. I’m continuing to ice but not as frequently to help keep the swelling down. I’m really glad I had the surgery and I’m looking forward to seeing how it…

yesterday’s surgery went well. I asked DH if he was nervous about my surgery and he said a little. He asked if I was and I said not at all. I had good feelings about my surgeon and he lived up to my expectations. I’ve been following icing instructions to the letter. Right after the surgery, I looked like I’d been in a bar…

I had cataract surgery about 12 years ago. I’m having the eyelid surgery because I pushed for it. I’ve told my eye doctor that I didn’t think I was seeing as well as I used to. He dismissed my concerns and said my eye tests were in the same range as the last couple years. I could see I had droopy eyelids and it felt like…

The surgeon said it was painless but maybe a little discomfort. He said if I was in pain to call him right away. I’m expecting some discomfort in the form of itching but that’s what the gel is for. He was telling me some patients talk under anesthesia. One woman swore like a sailor. He thought it was because of the…

I had visit with surgeon and signed consent forms yesterday. He’s also removing excess skin when he lifts the droopy eyelids. Surgery is in 2 weeks. And I passed the pre-op surgery evaluation.
-
Pam, even if you’re using tha same products, no guarantee some haven’t changed their ingredients. My eye surgery is in 2 weeks. The pre-op appointment is Friday. We stack up medical appointments during the summer while we’re home. I had the dentist yesterday and found out I need a new crown. Scheduled that for August.…

How about going to a walk in urgent care place?
-
How about laundry detergent? That might make a rash, especially if the ingredients changed.

The funeral yesterday was lovely. Everything was at the funeral was very well done. My BIL was 83 and he had been very active in the community and had served 2 terms on town council. The current mayor had worked with him and posted a nice tribute on FB. He had borough hall draped in mourning. None of that was expected. At…

I got a text from SIL while we were several hours say that BIL had been given last rites and was near the end. We were still in MD so there was no way to be there. We spent tha night in DE. I had texted and left a voicemail but didn’t hear back. I wasn’t surprised because she must have been exhausted. My niece called in…

That is so sad about your friends arguing in the restaurant. You may have to see them separately if you choose to continue the friendships. It sounds like both are dealing with a lot of stress but that doesn’t explain why they would verbally attack each other. My SIL texted Sunday to say BIL’s rehab was unsuccessful and…

Rest when you need it. Unpacking is a marathon, not a sprint. Getting unpacked a little quicker doesn’t gain you anything if you exhaust yourself. How is DH adjusting to the new house? My SIL called Saturday to say her husband, DH’s brother fell at his assisted living facility and broke his hip. He’s had surgery and is…

Congratulations on being moved in. Your SIL will be a big help unpacking and organizing the new house. How is DH adjusting to the move? Is he still recuperating? Once you get the essentials unpacked, you can take your time with the ret. Just do a box a day and it will get done. Maryanne, I didn’t realize you needed hip…

Happy Easter. Today was the first time in three years (pre-hurricane) that church was standing room. We got there in time for seats but it was the most crowded I’ve seen in years.
-
When is moving day? All the downsizing you did should make it easier. You mentioned staying in your old home a few days past closing. Are the old owners still living in your new house?
-
Pam, it sounds like you made a great choice going with the more expensive but move in ready home. With DH’s recovery, you don’t need any DIY projects. How’s his recovery going?

Maryanne, I saw a report on the news that liquid egg substitutes have a big recall because some containers were contaminated with bleach, Ick. It included Eggbeaters and Better than Eggs. I know you use egg substitutes so you might want to read up on the recall.

Is the house you’re buying the first one you liked or the second, less expensive house. Both houses sounded great. All the hard work you did plus staging and good pricing led to such a quick sale.

It was a weight loss plan in more ways than one. Getting rid of stuff you no longer need, deciding it was time to move on and finding the perfect house lifted so much pressur(weight) off your shoulders. The house sound perfectly matched to your needs and still close to people and things you love. I’m praying they accept…
