  • Blech... week 6 day 3 today and it was terrible. I'd like to blame it on the heat and humidity and then the pouring rain that started halfway through the run. But I ended up stopping several times. I'm gonna have to do this one again. It's so hot outside... should I try the treadmill??
  • Week 6 day 2 done. So humid even early in the morning... I was drenched in sweat after my 5 min warmup! Turns out I was wrong about being able to go any slower... my slowest run since week 2...
  • Fyi, i am 5 feet 3.5 inches and weigh 183 lbs... I just did week 5 day 3 a few days ago and avg. speed was 14:05 min per mile. All my numbers are pretty close to you. You're not alone! =)
  • Carly Rae Jepson - I really like you.... it's STUCK!!.. I can't get it out of my head.... "I really, really, really, really like you.... and I want you... do you want me, do you want me too..." :(
  • I found that even if I was a little sore, once I start the run, the soreness goes away after the initial warmup...
  • Decided to go on to week 6 day 1 this am. I totally get what people are saying about going back to intervals... once I slowed to a walk, it was hard to get motivated to break into a jog again. But I got through the run, no problem.
  • Seven am presentation at work today so skipped the morning run. Presentation went well but now feeling antsy. Now the question is... do I squeeze in my run tonight to keep to the every other day schedule or just go tomorrow morning? I'm thinking morning.
  • wow, 17,000 steps/day! that's amazing. I've been using 2 apps on my phone.... the RunDouble app and the Mapmyrun app. there are advantages and disadvantages to both. I like the mapmyrun app because it syncs to the calorie count on the MFP app and I like the route suggestions. The app is free but if you want the training…
  • welcome to the group, @ladysanto !! I completely agree with @Just_Ceci ... come back to the daily check-in often. Everyone is at a different point in the program and I find myself looking forward to reporting my runs to everyone whether it was a good day or bad day... It's also great to be inspired by people ahead of you…
  • Thanks, @ftrobbie for the encouragement! Only half way through the program but i notice a world of difference from when I started.
  • Sounds like you HAVE been doing it. =) No need to be scared... Think back to when you started the program and how far you've come. But NO, you are not crazy...
  • Just finished week 5 day 3... kinda? Couple thoughts... First of all, I lasted until 18 min 30 sec but I hit a wall and even after I slowed down, couldn't go on. So turned around and walked until I caught my breath and then ran for 5 more min. Do I go onto week 6 or repeat week 5 day 3? Secondly, Went farther than ever and…
  • tee hee... i'm feeling a lot of love. Congrats to everyone who is continuing to stick with the program and making progress! plan to do week 5 day 3 tomorrow morning. Thanks for encouragement, everyone. Will let you know how it goes!
  • @ChelleBelle2708 awesome. i was looking at the flipbelt on amazon but wasn't sure about it. I was imagining it was kind of like panty hose and I have a samsung5 which is a little heavy. I was imagining it bouncing up and down. But if it's working well for you, I may give it a whirl despite the price @adam145 unfortunately,…
  • Week 5 day 2 done! Wahoo! Be my friend!
  • This website is amazing... you see such a wide range of sizes at the same height and weight... just goes to show that you shouldn't live or die by the number on that scale...
  • Get a samsung s phone! They're waterproof.... I even use them in the shower and watch the news sometimes.... =P I also always wear a cap or visor.... helps keep the rain out of my face...
  • Finished week 4 today!! Felt great despite the insane wind tunnel in the canal this morning. I seem to be have a cycle of feeling not bad on day 1, terrible on day 2, and great on day 3 of each week
  • Week 4 day 2 done today!! Felt better than day 1
  • interested!
  • Week 4, day 1 done! That last 5 min jaunt was torture and I found myself walking after just 3 min. I was so mad at myself that I ran an extra 3 min after catching my breath. Planning to slow down slightly on day 2 so I can run (jog?) that last 5 min consistently. P.s. @JaneyClark1 if u keep getting the same symptoms, go…
  • To go back to bed
  • This is what I do
  • Just curious, how did you lose 80 pounds before? It sucks having to start again but you can do it!!
  • hahaha... doesn't matter. You finished!! Congrats
  • My digital scale does that all the time. I would get on it and come off, zero it and get right back on and would change 5 pounds. It didn't matter new battery or old. I finally just got an old school scale with the springs in it. I found it much more stable....
  • Heh... didn't log anything for five days in new orleans. Ate everything from sandwiches laden with deep fried breaded shrimp to sugary beignets to creamy gumbo to moist, juicy pork sandwiches. Managed to lose 3 pounds in 5 days!!! Man, just goes to show if you walk 8 miles per day, you can eat anything...
  • Mmmmm..... new orleeeeeeans. ... since noon, I've eaten a quarter of a muffuletta from central grocery with a bottle of abita amber, half a dozen raw oysters with a glass of chardonnay, a few sips of a hurricane from Pat O'Brien's, a sample of praline and a crap ton of water. Oh, and my phone says I walked more than 16,000…
