In the last 5 weeks I have lost a little over 6 pounds. LAST WEEK, I lost .4, that's POINT 4. But that is how it works. Keep digging, you will get there!!

You will get many different opinions on this. In the beginning it was much easier for mr to focus on calories. Once I got a handle on that, I started fine tuning.

If you happen to know what your body fat% is, perhaps start with 1 gram of protein per pound of LEAN mass. Then .35 gram of fat per pound of total weight. Use those as minimums and fill the remaining calories with whatever you choose, could be carbs,fat or protein. Just an idea for a place to start.

What works for me is being dedicated to log my food. I pre-log for the whole day and that helps me be disciplined. Nothing can be managed if it can't be measured, you have to weigh and measure and log accurately. Good luck.

For a period of time, say two weeks, weigh every solid thing that goes in your mouth with a food scale and log accurately. I think this is really good advice. Something that helps me is logging beforehand. I log my entire day while I eat breakfast. It isn't a magic bullet, but I think it helps me. Good luck.

You absolutely can do this! Cliche' time, Rome wasn't built in a day, you didn't gain it all in a few months.......etc. Make a reasoned, attainable plan with some goals along the way. 10 pounds per month is a very aggressive cut. I dont think it is healthy to lose weight that fast without being supervised by a doctor, JMHO.

OP, there is nothing wrong with giving a low carb diet a try, if it doesn't work for you, try something else. At the end of the day you just have to be on the negative side of the energy equation to lose weight.
