  • Add me too :) Looking to gain 1kg-2kg (2-4lbs) by June, then maintain!
  • I went from 183lbs to 160lbs in 16 weeks a few years ago. Once I hit 160lbs, I tried maintaining for 8 weeks by adding another meal to my daily. I lost another 8lbs. I stopped going to the gym for 8 weeks and stayed around 155lbs. Some reason, I've been maintaining 153lbs - 158lbs at 2000 cal/day for a few years.
  • Keeping muscle is possible with your cut provided you're getting enough protein and keeping close to your daily calorie. We have similar stats. I currently have a 30 inch waist, but wear 31 pants with a belt. I'm right at 70kg from 68kg beginning in April and I've been successful (to me) on putting on size. Springfield1970…
  • Lol. My gym has 6 steps from the entrance to street level. That first step after leg day is scary... :expressionless:
  • I was about to suggest the Rippetoe vids and books, but you're already ahead of the game. They were essential for me when I started seriously to make sure I wouldn't hurt myself. You could always ask a trainer at the gym or someone you see that is deadlifting with good form. That might be a good start until you record a…
  • This!!! I don't use butter and coconut oil replaces what I would put on toast or use to scramble eggs.
  • I still have the same cravings. I make a chocolate protein shake with a banana and unsweetened chocolate almond milk.
  • This! I was initially intimidated by the amount of weight people were lifting. I could barely lift the bar. Now, I do what I need to do. There's always people that can out lift you and look better doing it. Having said that, I found there are people that are willing to help others out. A simple "what does that exercise…
  • Overuse of "literally" and "basically."
  • It may sound cliche, but many of us will say "If I can do it, so can you!" Personally, seeing other people working toward and reaching their fitness/eating goals is very encouraging. Lots of friendly advice and plenty of people in similar situations that can make suggestions.
  • I think most people view weight loss as a positive outcome. Virtually everyone that gains weight doesn't want to hear it. There are some people that are insensitive and will make comments about weight gain, but it also depends on how they say it. To me, saying that someone "used to be on the skinny side and now you look…
  • My weight fluctuates by about 3-5lbs during the day. I can weigh myself after 45 minutes at the gym in the morning and then weight 2-4 lbs more after dinner. Then the next day I would weigh 2lb less but only 1lb more at after dinner. I wouldn't rely on the scale as the sole source of progress. Look in the mirror, or put on…
