Good insights. One thing I noticed is that most people over-estimate their activity levels when setting up MyFitnessPal or other food trackers. Before taking into consideration the intentional exercise, a full time office worker at a desk would be considered sedentary while a full time cashier standing might still be…

Hello everyone! Just dropping by. Haven't been to the forums in a while!

Mine is open. Sometimes there's so much variety. Then there those weeks where I'm lazy and buy in bulk. Lots of turkey and provolone. Lol

I have one that I've been making since the beginning of the summer. It's in my recipes on my profile. Can they be viewed? 189 calories per serving. Can be adjusted to suit your needs. Or add me as a friend and I'll message it to you.

I watched so many videos about his experience. That guy is still motivating!

Thanks for the great words everyone! Rehab has been a huge eye opener for me. I'll admit I was definitely over-confident before I starting the program. Granted, I'm the youngest one there during the hours I go but that hasn't bothered me. Every week is showing improvement and I'm not winded after 10 minutes on the…

Another thing I would suggest is making sure you're progressively overloading the weights. Many of the gym regulars (friends included) are maintaining a good exercise program but stay safe with the amount of weights. From my own personal experience and my friends that start getting serious about weight lifting, the newbie…

Happy 4th of July to those in the USA. Can't wait for the BBQs

Hello everyone! I'm pretty sure I posted on one of these 200+ pages but I'll do it again. Haha. 43 and Happy Weekend!

My posture is much better now after making an effort to correct it. The first thing that helped me was to get used to how my shoulders felt when they were retracted. Simply pulling them back felt awkward and unnatural. What I was told was to straighten my arms out in front of me so they were parallel to the ground. From…

Genetics are a major factor in your body fat percentage. I know people about 12% bf who work out 3x a week, don't do any cardio, eat 2000+ cal of healthy foods and have pronounced abs. I also know a few people who barely eat 1500 cal, 5x gym w/cardio who are about 17%-22% bf. 6% is elite athlete levels... Or eating…

This :) I've been talking to a few trainers and competitors and it seems split down the middle. I'm still deciding if I should take them since I eat pretty well. The trainers suggested eating more foods with leucine so you wouldn't need to supplement them.

How intense are your workouts? 30-40 minutes is plenty to make gains/lose weight if your intensity is up there. In that amount of time you can do 16-20 sets split between 4-5 exercises with 45-60 secs of rest between sets. Gauge it by 1 exercise of 4 sets. If you can do the 4th set with your starting weight and still hit…

Every photo you post, except for the last one is progress photo...

This! There's also plenty of people who don't know what to do when they work out. I worked out with my friends for 5 years and we all looked pretty much the same as when we started. We went 3-4 days a week and had no aesthetic gains. That was because we had to idea how to train and eat healthy. Sure we could get together…

2 for breakfast unless I make an omelette, then it's 3. Usually another 2 hard boiled to munch at night. I have enough trouble reaching my daily calories. I'm eating the whole damn egg  lol

Good luck! You can do it!

This might make you feel better. I started squatting again from just bar weight. After watching Mark Rippetoe squatting videos, I realized I wasn't going as far down as I should have been. For me it was a mobility issue with my ankles. After 6 weeks, I'm 'correctly' squatting 70% of what I was doing the past few years.…

If I hit the sushi place everyday, I can easily get 1300-1500 in one meal.

I wasn't anywhere near the amount of weight you lost. I went from 185lbs to 150lbs in about 4 months. I made it a point to see if and how long I could maintain an eating lifestyle. In the past 5 years, I never went past 155lbs. I've been trying to gain weight for 6 months now and I'm struggling at 2400 calories. I would…

I'm trying to eat everything back since I'm trying to gain weight. 2400 calories is tough to eat normally, let alone after an extra 300-400 exercise calories... lol

I have the same Omron machine. I've heard they are inaccurate so I use it more for trending. I don't know how inaccurate they are, but the last few measurements put me at an average of 13% with high being 13.1 and low of 12.7. I know people can look drastically different even at the same body fat percentages.
