fullofhope, that is awesome-- and I love how you have a very specific plan for your exercise-- I see more weight loss and more muscle definition in your future. Trish, you are a better woman than me. My 6oz of red wine at nite is a treat I'm just not ready to shake ;)... impressed by your past success, expect I will see…

Way to go, Terri. Smart thinking with the "fru-fru" drinks-- that's where the badness is.... lots of studies are showing some benefits to caffeine, like you have found with your neuro issue... Good luck with the flight!
-
And the good news? If you buy those jelly beans after Lent, they will be half price! ;) Good luck

Haha-- I love this! When my daughter was 2, I realized that I had a pottymouth when driving. One day, while I buckled her into her car seat, she sung out, "Sh#t Buddy! Move it Buddy! A%%hole!" My favorite swear now: "Jiminy Cricket!" It has a great mouth feel to it... and her Nana wouldn't faint if she screamed that one…

OK, gotta say-- it is hard to respond to everyone without creating a crazy long thread... I think I may just try to remember the posts and make general comments. We have some great additions and subtractions planned for Lent-- lots of happy doggies who will be getting more walks, lots of gym time; great healthy eating…

That's a great idea-- I would love to continue to hear how that is going.... does it make it easier to stay on track?

You know, you are right; the negative thoughts seem to be a knee-jerk reaction at times. A moment of quiet contemplation can often change that path... something I learned from my Mom, the sweetest lil ol lady with endstage Alzheimers, who still manages to find the positive and light up the world around her...

Amazing how much a smile can help sometimes.... best of luck! I'm going to try to friend you, Jacki-- hopefully, I don't screw it up.... (perhaps I should take social media lessons this Lent? ;) )
-
Vegan-- that is really challenging for me, from a cooking perspective-- do you have any favorite websites/recipes? Have you done this before? Very cool idea...
-
Boy, we have a lot of lucky dogs this Lenten season!!!
-
Awesome-- adding water?
-
Fast foods are incredibly tempting... try carrying a ziploc baggie with almonds/nuts... this sometimes helps me skip the fast food line (but, like you, not always.... ) I love that they now give us the calorie breakdown on so many of the menus now.

Your pup says, "Yippee!!!"

Thank you! I have been working on cutting back on sweets too. One snack that I love right now? A clementine, and 20 almonds. Not sure if it is the taste or the smell of the oranges that I like the best. And the small amount of almonds are just enough to break the "hungry horrors"....

Kathy, wishing you all the best. As an oncology nurse, I see the damage and also see the struggle to give up cigarettes. Hopefully feeling better at the gym will add to your resolve.
-
Yay!!!! And I am sure the pup loves this idea too! :)
-
Fantastic-- best of luck with the smoking. Get help if you need it-- this is your life at stake, Blu. The gym is a really nice combination too-- because as you stop smoking, the gym should feel easier....
-
Lift those gorgeous kids of yours over your head a few times a nite-- they won't even realize that they are part of a weight training program! ;)
-
Sounds great-- if you find any good ways to spice up those veggies, post em up! :)
-
How fun-- hopefully, the Zumba can give you the same high as the sweets!
-
Sounds very doable.... Plan to do anything in particular at the gym, or will you mix it up?
-
Habits are so hard to break-- at least you know your triggers-- stress and boredom. What could you do instead? This could be your addition during Lent!
-
sounds good!
-
I did this a couple of years ago, and discovered that I liked the taste of what I brought even better than what I bought "on the fly..." Great idea!
-
Oh, wow-- work snacking is a killer! Let me know how we can help.
-
sounds like you might give up a weak butt and abs! ;)
-
Best of luck, Ash-- have you thought of anything you would like to add to your life in the next six weeks?
-
working on the sugar addiction myself, since reading about its close ties to Alzheimers disease.... good luck!
-
Haha-- ice cream is also a hereditary downfall around here-- mother, sisters, kids all scream for ice cream.
-
Love it-- let us know where you need help :)
