What a fantastic idea! Have you decided which charity?

Great idea, Marcia--

I will give up elevators (I work on the 6th floor of a hospital,) and add one hour in the gym three days per week... (i have been better at dieting than exercising in 2016, so hopefully this will be the push I need...

Thanks Darin-- just joined! :)

Oh, this is wonderful! I am thinking of doing the same thing this month. I need to go through not only my "fat clothes", but all the "skinny clothes" that I thought would still be in style when I reached a smaller size again-- haha....

nancy here. Lost 18 lbs since May (took August off to have a rockin' good time, but luckily only gained one pound back.) I have to admit-- I feel so much better when I cut down on the sugars. Once again, going through withdrawals as I kick the excessive chocolates, pastries, chips and beer to the curb... but after a day,…

Getting back on track. Week 1: 184 Week 11: 172....

Work It, by Brittney Spears. Embarrassing, but true.

Week 1: 184 Week 9: 172 I have no idea about all the other weeks... haha!

Hang in there-- I am 65 days in, and I feel like that some days too.... I've lost the same 20 lbs about 6 times... now the rubber is starting to hit the road as I get close to the 20lb mark... and intend to go further :) Feel free to add me as a friend

There are many websites that will do this for you... caloriecount.com, or sparkpeople.com will give you a complete diet, according to your lifestyle. But one thing is making me nervous about your request.... remember that true success starts with YOUR effort and not anyone else's.... play around with your diet until you…

weigh at home only. Look for nutritional info on restaurant if possible. If not, I remember that a deck of cards equals a 4 oz portion, and a fist-sized portion of veggies, grains is about a cup....

Lorz, did you change what you were doing, once you lost the weight? If so, go back to measuring and weighing until you are back where you are comfortable. It will probably come off at about the same time you put it on....

Great job, and great philosophy. Thanks for sharing.

I have asked many doctors this question. They tell me that water is best; however, if it keeps you from eating/drinking sugar.... go for it. They state that there are many REPUTABLE, controlled studies that show the dangers of sugar. The literature is less clear with diet soda. If it makes you feel more hungry, don't drink…

I haven't heard of Fitmiss.... I bought 310Shake online about a month ago... I really like it...

Wondering if you have vertigo?-- dizziness, nausea. Sometimes it is caused by an inner ear problem, sometimes a problem with blood flow, and sometimes they aren't sure why. Or have you ever been told that you have hypoglycemia? I would take this question to my doctor... it may have an easy cure.... Best of luck, and let us…

I would suggest getting fitted at a professional running/sports store. Look for individual/small chain stores for the most knowledgeable service..... sounds pricey, but I really haven't seen much of a difference between buying them there and buying them somewhere else.

Nuts! 24 almonds have 160 calories-- even the ones that are dusted with coconut or dark cocoa. 1/2 cup pistachios (with shells) is also 160 calories. Because of the (good) fat content, they are surprisingly filling...

I love 310 Shake-- low fat, high fiber, low/no sugar (stevia for sweetness), high protein. I mix it with unsweetened vanilla/coconut almond milk and ice for a great snack/meal. It keeps me full, and it gets rid of my chocolate/sweets craving. It is only sold online, but it is the one protein powder that seems to keep me…

Almonds are great-- 24 for a 160-calorie snack. Surprisingly satisfying, especially if I have a craving for something more decadent. I mix 12 cocoa-dusted almonds with 12 coconut-dusted almonds for a sweet snack with 3g fiber, only 3g sugars, 35 mg sodium and 1g saturated fat. (The brand I eat is Blue Diamond... not sure…

Well, the study was done on mice, not humans; I look forward to seeing how this does in human trials. Secondly, it may work for some people (just like some people do great on a paleo diet, others need more carbs, and still others eat everything in sight and tend to still look healthy and thin...) If you are intrigued, Max,…

Do you have a slow cooker? I throw a couple of boneless breasts in the cooker, with a half cup-cup of low sugar bbq sauce for six hours on low. Using a fork, shred up the chicken. Eat on whole wheat sandwich thins instead of rolls to cut calories and add fiber. Microwave a vegetable, or have a side salad. The chicken is…

Best of luck, Nelly-- you got this!

I connected through my phone. I have the vivofit Connect app on my phone, as well as the Fitness Pal. When I open the connect app on my phone, then hit "sync" on my watch (by holding down the button on the right, until it says "sync"), it sends the info to both sites.

Depends on the day. Like DeguelloTex, I tend to not count my exercise calories back into my day. But on certain "holidays," I will pick up the pace and count in my extra workout calories- (hello, small slice of husband's birthday cake this morning!;) )

SUPERSTAR!!! :)

Welcome, Sabrina. I'm also (gulp) over 50 and living with few regrets-- haha! Been on a million diets, most of them pretty unrealistic. Linked my vivofit to this website one week ago, and I am loving it. Ready to work on a healthier lifestyle so that I can continue to keep up with people 20 years younger.... :)

I am phobic about the doctor's scale, ever since my pediatrician would mention it every time I went for my physical (FYI, I was NOT overweight-- he would just say, "Be careful-- you don't want to gain more than a lb next year.." ) Oy. Nowadays, the primary care doctors have exactly 6 minutes per appointment to cover any…

Kaylverity, you ARE a success story. Some people are just jerks. Yes, it may take a while to take the weight off. Love yourself the way you are-- a strong, beautiful Mom. Make a plan, and do your best to stick with it. Don't beat yourself up when you slip. That is life. Just hop back on that horse, and keep galloping (and…
