  • I wish you all success in helping manage PCOS using keto!! I personally have not been diagnosed with PCOS, but you may want to look into www.healthfulpursuit.com. She (Leanne Vogel) also just did a podcast (Episode #56 with Rainelle Krause) specifically on PCOS and keto that you may find beneficial.
  • I enjoy ketoconnect.net - they also have a youtube channel and recently started a podcast "keto for normies". They have a very basic approach and encourage what works best for you. Love how they experiment and share their different responses etc. Great lesson in that there is not necessarily one specific way to be…
  • HAHAHA I am a lover of coffee and there is no Starbucks local to me... I view Starbucks as an occasional treat for the drive home when we go to the city. In fact, my daughter knows and literally asks, "are we stopping for dessert"... because that is exactly what it is. Dessert in a cup. Not coffee  That being said,…
  • Prior to specifically aiming to eat low carb, my food goals were to eat "clean" (which for me meant 5 pronounceable ingredients or less). Since I wasn't purchasing a whole lot of pre-packaged food anyway and mostly whole foods, I have not noticed a difference in my grocery costs.

  • EAS has the Myoplex Ketogenic Meal Replacement Drinks, but I have never tried them. If you are referring to premade shakes, there will be huge variances in nutritional data depending on brand and even flavors. Protein powders themselves are not created equal, so the shakes often have even larger differences! Read labels…

  • I've been enjoying my chicken curry on top of steamed cauliflower lately. No I'm not one of those people that thinks cauliflower can substitute in for anything

  • I love the idea of keeping it simple, but as much as I tell myself food is only fuel.... I just can't bring myself to eat the same thing over and over. I do have a general plan though. I try to food prep a few key dishes on Sunday to mix & match and ensure I have 3 higher-protein breakfasts available on run days. I almost…
  • I haven't been following too closely these days, but there is a keto vlogger that announced her pregnancy not too long ago... kayladoesketo. I would suspect she still shares information on her progress with food, health and pregnancy.... Congratulations and best wishes for health & happiness!!
  • If I am on the road and am concerned that I might not be able to access anything or else want to curb the bulk of my hunger so I make better choices when joining friends for a social event... I usually reach for beef jerky or almonds since they travel well. I am working really hard at eliminating couch crap, which is my…
  • I make a lot of soup in the winter months too and it is almost always part of my food prep/work lunches.... Another quick and easy is Cheesy Cauliflower or Broccoli... I cook the desired veggie in chicken broth, when tender I add in 8 oz of cubed cream cheese. Once melted I put in the immersion blender until desired…
  • This is my all time favorite... I sub in cauliflower instead of potatoes and I do NOT make it one pot as I find it way too greasy. http://www.momontimeout.com/2017/01/one-pot-olive-garden-zuppa-toscana-soup-recipe/
  • I have only made the "original" as posted on lowcarbediem.com linked above. I have been told that is the "most disappointing" tasting of them all, but it makes fantastic toast (with bacon, lettuce and mayo lol). Personally, I am not interested in a sweet bread substitute.... I also had a hard time finding unflavored whey…
  • Batch cooking saves my soul. I am much better at it in the winter and variety is necessary because I just can't bring myself to eat the exact replica for days on end. I typically make myself a large pot of soup for work lunches (summer is usually salads or a struggle in general) for the week and then supplement with…
  • I'm going to have to watch at least some of this... simply because all my favorite podcasters are posting responses to it. I haven't watched any of them yet, because I want to know what they are rebutting first!!
  • I used to almost devour a foot long bag of kettlecorn... all the while saying, "I really don't know what I think of this stuff". Pffft. Mentally, sweet & salty is so wrong, but apparently my tastebuds looooove it.
  • @erowell3192 congratulations on getting started! I have my carbs set a little higher than most aiming for ketosis at approximately 50 g (total) or 10%. It is a more comfortable and less-stressful number for me and it took me awhile to find my sweet spot. I don't count net because I found it was too easy to "cheat" or mess…

  • How are things going for you on the protocol? I'm not overly familiar with it, but try to focus on LCHF, whole foods. It is a constant work in progress. Feel free to add me if you are still looking for friends!
  • I often do roll-ups with deli meat, cheese and a pickle. Cream cheese or nut butter in celery. Beef jerky or dry pepperoni Cream cheese pancakes wrapped around grilled asparagus, crispy bacon & goat cheese.
  • I keep it simple with using 15 g each of coconut oil, butter and heavy whipping cream. Sometimes I add one drop of pure cinnamon essential oil.
