I had to check it out... and the discussion has already been closed lol

@JessIsOK sorry to hear that you are having a bad day. We truly are our own worst critics. Try and remind yourself that at the time you were feeling GOOD and you have a lot to be excited about if you were wearing shorts that didn't fit last year. Be sure to keep taking measurements because often the scale is a liar liar…

This is intriguing! I am not well versed in "sports" drinks and have only recently succumbed to keeping Mio Sport (lemon lime) at the office since I am really trying to ramp up my activity... Long story short, I really have to choke it down. I also know I really need to work harder at keeping my sodium up... I greatly…

I have TONS of boards, but here is the link to the LCHF recipes from pinterest that I have actually tried and liked. I always add comments as to how I modified or want to modify the recipe for next time.... https://www.pinterest.com/kimberzim/book-of-good-lchf/

The only FODMAP friendly cookbook I'm aware of offhand is Practical Paleo, Dianne Sanfilippo. Look into Leanne Vogel, www.healthfulpursuit.com. She has some keto books and cookbooks, I know she focuses on dairy free for sure, not sure is she discusses avoiding FODMAP or not but her books really focus on hormonal healing…

Getting back on track after enjoying a (planned & guilt-free) event over the weekend that was entirely off woe-plan. The Craft Beer Festival has been something I wanted to attend for years but schedules never enabled me to! I did not have the slightest hesitation to get tickets. Long story short, I got back on track with…

My diary is open if you add me as a friend. I try to focus on real food and food prep... so you will see a lot of the same thing for the week, but then ideally something completely different the following week

This used to be my SO's version of a healthy breakfast and still what his 10 year old son prefers to eat when he comes for the weekend... sometimes skips the toast for a second bowl of cereal. I calculated the numbers once and suggested he just give him a can of soda and chocolate bar. Our bodies don't absorb most of those…

I don't do too many fancy recipes because my carby family shouldn't be eating most of them... I try to batch cook a meat and a vegetable on the weekend. If that doesn't happen... my "go to" full meal deal is a 2 to 3 egg omelette with HWC, when almost ready, I add some cheese, avocado slices and hot sauce and fold it over…

You are welcome to add me as well, just let me know that you are from here  I have my carb macro set a little higher than some at 10%, but I hit ketosis at that level if I behave. I also try really hard to focus on whole foods.

@mjj79 I am sorry to read that you are feeling discouraged. I don't know your whole story, but one week really isn't that long. Perhaps you don't have that much water weight to lose (the cause of the initial whoosh that excites so many), maybe your body needs to heal or adjust, perhaps your stress hormones are high or…

I get bored very quickly and like having large varieties of foods. I also try to avoid lots of processed meals. I'm a mfp diary stalker lol. What type of ideas are you looking for? Add me if you want to watch my diary...

Had a strong start to the week, but have been slipping a little the last two days. It is long weekend coming up with lots of outdoor physical activity planned. The weather forecast looks promising and I hope to get myself back on track and set up to stay strong next week!

This is great information thank you! I have been struggling trying to learn how to not hate running and am using the C25K app with limited success/endurance increase. I am going to have to pay attention when I go out tomorrow about what my feet are actually doing!!

Celery is my favorite carrier of cream cheese, guac, parmesan & artichoke dip and almond butter. Halved & deseeded mini english cucumbers work great for some of them too. Guac is a necessity on anything with taco meat and a great way to make salads a bit more substantial and filling. Delicious folded inside an omelette too.

A lot of us are tortoises!! I'm not making a whole lot of progress as far as the scale goes, but I'm learning lots and hopefully instilling lifelong habits to health!

Happy Friday everyone! I have kept my physical activity up this week and done quite well keeping on plan when it comes to food. This weekend's forecast is rain which will likely mean no yard work/gardening (that I was looking forward to) and maybe more time spent in the house being sloth-like... which is just a recipe for…

@havisham I subscribe to a few youtube channels that pass treadmill time very quickly (more so than music imo). I follow some of the same people on instagram, as it helps keep me motivated and full of food idea (sorry some of these may only be one or the other).... keto connect, kayla does keto, go keto with Casey, The…

I most definitely have myself set up for some non-food rewards when larger goals are met. Thankfully I have always been huge consumer of water. My struggle is entirely mental because I also love craft beer and nothing is more rewarding on the deck mid-afternoon following a few hours of strenuous yard work (right after the…

I haven't used my ketostix in a long time.... I need to pull them out and use them as extra motivation! With the changing season, I am outside more and way more active. Food is staying on track for the most part... but oh those beverages on the deck... I need to find myself a better reward more in tune with my health goals…

I had a 5 lb whoosh last week... although Monday was an artificial water-weight high, I am still going to call it a whoosh. Officially it was a 2 lb loss from my regular Friday weigh-in the week before. Both still good in my books!!

Hi everyone! Haven't popped in here in awhile, but I have still been logging daily and doing the best I can. Looks like there are a lot of new faces, welcome!! I am back in ketosis this week and feeling great. It seems to be officially spring in my neck of the woods and I find that so rejuvenating!! Hibernation season is…

I have not tried either one, but for you may want to look up Keto Chow or EAS Myoplex Ketogenic Meal Replacement.

This has me curious... how is a sparkling seltzer also a premium malt beverage? Picture definitely portrays a seltzer, but maybe that is because it has been crafted to remove all the malt beverage? hahaha

He might like beef jerky or dry pepperoni sticks. If the salt taste isnt too strong maybe roasted and salted nuts of some sort.

Best before dates truly are just a limited product guarantee. They do not have to reimburse you for a shoddy product after that date has past... and as such, there is an increase in liability restricting them to "donate' it elsewhere. Shameful. Even food banks technically have to dispose of any product that has passed that…

I agree that it is very personal and can only be determined by the anxiety any of those actions directly cause for YOU! I personally have never had a magic number I want to reach on the scale. My intentions are to "feel" better and regain my energy. I used to weigh once a week. I also know myself well enough that I could…

I've always been about the oil & vinegar, but I have a large variety of infused ones.... Some of my faves: Toasted sesame oil with honey ginger white balsamic, Red grapefruit olive oil with black current or raspberry balsamic. I really like avocado and almond oil too. Sometimes I'll add seasonings (like herb & garlic Mrs…

I haven't but have a few friends that tried... they weren't very successful as they found it too restrictive. The potential cure was more difficult than symptoms in each of their cases. Some good success stories out there tho!

When I first started eating real food and eliminated all low fat/processed stuff, I began to get gall bladder attacks (not knowing what they were at the time). My dr scheduled an ultrasound and referred me to a surgeon. Basically the surgeon diagnosed the stones and tried to immediately schedule surgery... I postponed in…
