Good article, thanks. That's a big reason I haven't had a drink since Jan 1 of this year. No way do I want to force my body to stop burning fat! Plus this...No Confusion: Alcohol Causes Seven Cancers

The rationale for drinking quoted in this article made about as much sense as that provided by one of the characters in a "Cheers" episode.

"Drinking makes us smarter. When a mountain lion attacks a herd of buffalo only the slower and stupider buffaloes are eaten, thus improving the herd. Same with our brains. Alcohol kills the slower, less efficient brain cells, thus improving the brain as a whole."

I take everything I read about nutrition with a grain of salt and sometimes a glass of wine....

I wish more of the health gurus were like Stephen Phinney, who says wise (and unusual) things like, "ideology has no place in science," and "I view my own data with the greatest skepticism."

I've had diet and rum or wine every few weekends with only a couple pound water retention that bleeds off in a couple days.

I switched to Scotch when I need to pass out. Much less carbs! LOL

If I took alcohol, I'd be comatose before I'd drained the glass... Alcohol and I do not make a great mix.... I could tell you tales of my younger days... like, losing some clothes one night.... No, I gotta stop there, this is a family show.....!

I'm new to eating low carb. I found an alternative to what I normally drink

"Crafted" to "remove"... uh... what gluten?
All the wheat germ that normally comes in water?

I'll keep an open mind that it really is something like beer, but it sure doesn't look like it....

Being gluten free (celiac) I don't think I'd trust a malted barley beverage that had gluten 'removed'... looks tasty (at least from the packaging) though.

This has me curious... how is a sparkling seltzer also a premium malt beverage? Picture definitely portrays a seltzer, but maybe that is because it has been crafted to remove all the malt beverage? hahaha

Since it says spiked, I would think of this as watered down malt liquor. I try not to touch malted drinks of any kind, never enjoyed those. And I too would avoid that packaging >:)

Edited to add: Full disclosure, I will not give up wine. Without it and chocolate, why would I want to be alive???????????????? I'm done with giving up any more of my vices.

Also wondering about that carb count on wine, normally I see 1 to 2 carbs per oz. listed for them.

Packaging = high fiber counts w/o carbs AND lots of minerals, lol.
