I'm so glad to hear this! Yeah, usually, the objections come from little boy-men. But I just wonder how it really affects them at all? If I was actually walking around with steroid Arnold arms, why the problem with it?

Ah, but there's a problem here. In order to gain a pound of muscle, you have to eat at a SURPLUS of calories, which most people aren't willing to do, when they are on a weight loss program. If you're on a caloric deficit, you can tone your muscles, but you will NOT gain muscle weight... ( I realize this is not what you…

I'm definitely into natural body building ;-) Right now I follow Lee Haywards program and I'm getting good results

Wow that's so little information, it almost feels like baiting

The reason I gained 100 pounds was because I didn't pay attention. The reason I lost 100 pounds is because I paid attention. I don't mind paying attention anymore

It really depends... if you just do cardio, you can join any gym (aka Planet Fitness). If you have muscle building goals, look for gyms with lots of free weights and squat racks. I had 2 memberships for a long time, but wound up at the YMCA because they have a pool, "enough" free weights and the price is right

OMG ...the possibilities for wasting hours on this site is endless. Does anyone actually work anymore? lol

It is for this exact reason I set my calories at "maintenance" and don't enter exercise in MFP. I lost 100 pounds with diet only. I can't imagine eating at a deficit and working out too.
-
If you set your MFP calories for "two pound loss" and your "bottom line/ end of day" calories are at that level (with or without exercise), you'll be at a deficit and lose weight.

For me, bench press is on chest day, rows are on back day, lat pulls are on back day... what do you do for chest and back day?

Trust me, I understand this one! I joined MFP about 4 years ago, and promptly gained 20 pounds... Finally wound up at 250 pounds and sick. I've maintained at 145 for 2 years now and decided this is fine as long as I am building muscle and feeling good. Try not to be in a hurry - it can take time, but time passes anyway.…

The mirror at my gym makes me look old, and it makes my hair look funny too...in fact, it makes me actually look that way, because when I go home to my own mirror, I look that way!! ;-)

Really? When was the last time you weighed 88 pounds? 3rd grade? Yeah, I think this warrants concern

Generally, you want enough protein to maintain your muscles, so usually 1g per pound of lean mass. I have 106 pounds of lean mass so I aim for 106g of protein. The source does not matter. Protein shakes are generally the cheapest, gram for gram. Another reason I try to get most of my calories from protein sources is that…

.3 which is almost none. I'm curious what this product is...it has fruit and aspartame in it...and some reference to sunlight? lol

100ml is about half a cup or 4 oz so I wouldn't think that would be the water size - it should be the amount you're adding to water. I guess you just add it to taste? What is that sugary non-sugar stuff? lol

Sweaty on a first date? No Thanks 4 miles, for a non runner? Um just break my legs off now...

I have never been diagnosed with anything but I definitely have a hard time leaving food alone...it calls to me. Especially ice cream, cookies and chips. If something is within arms reach, I will eat it...to the point of illness. Total mindless eating. I have to be very careful about what I keep in the house. It's…

This is so true. You can have a number in mind, but it's not likely that will be your ultimate goal. For most people, it's actually more of a size and "feeling" they are after. I do well at a size 5/6 with lots of muscle. That winds up being about 144 pounds. To get down to 115 pounds, I'd have to sacrifice a lot of that…
