  • I'm maybe coming from a different angle here as I've never been over weight and I don't count calories to lose weight, I count calories to keep myself healthy after battling anorexia. There will come a time when I will have to explain it to my daughter. I plan on telling her that once, many years ago mommy was very sick…
  • My experience may be a little different since my maintenance has been from anorexia and not from having lost weight but I've maintained my weight (with the exception of pregnancy but am back in my range now) since the 1990s. I always count my calories (I could tell you how many calories I had on this day 10 years…
  • @Tabbycat00 Can i ask how many calories you eat to maintain such a low weight?[/quote] I eat 1400 a day, no "eating back" workout calories. I'm 40 years old with a pretty sedentary job and have weighed between 94-100 all of my adult life with the exception of pregnancy. I've been eating the same amount of calories since…
  • I don't trust the scales so I went to one of those places where they dunk you (Fitness Wave, for all the CA people). You also meet with a nutritionist to look over your results and to address any issues you may have. I was actually happy with my results and didn't ask too many questions but they seemed like they knew what…
  • We're almost twins, except I'm old enough to be your mother and I'm NOT looking to gain. I take boot camp classes three times a week and do light "cardio" (walk my daughter in a stroller for 4 miles) twice a week. I'm pretty happy with the results and how everything looks. I credit the combination of weight training with…
  • I used it after I had my daughter and couldn't get to the gym. It's equal to a group fitness class, only in your living room. I think people often think it's a specific program which will give you results when in reality it's any physical fitness that involves cardio and strength that challenges your body in new and…
  • I've been in recovery from anorexia since 1995. I still count calorie obsessively but I eat a "normal" amount and have maintained my weight since 1999 (with the exception of pregnancy). Feel free to add.
  • You look amazing and I love the suit. I wish you could see yourself the way others do, I'm sure if you could you'd see how stunning you really look. Enjoy your summer.
  • Hi, just wanted to say that short girls can be fitness or "lifestyle" models. I'm 5'2" and, although neither tall or stunningly beautiful, I have worked as a legit model. Probably not what you're thinking of exactly (my photos are currently in a gym, a hair salon, and an ad for a local clothing store) but technically,it is…
  • Hi! 5'2" High weight: 119 (day I went into labor) Low Weight: 78 (day I went into treatment for anorexia) Current: 97.6 Goal: 97-99 range, right where I'm at. Any twins out there???
  • I only count calories. I count every calorie, but I only count calories. I don't limit carbs or fat or eat green, etc. I'll eat anything I want as long as it falls beneath my calorie goal. Not a very popular stance.
  • Same issue here. I chalk it up to being petite, any extra salt or water retention...that time of the month, can make the difference. It used to bother me, but now I'm so used to it and I know it comes and goes.
  • I personally don't but I'm maintaining and not trying to lose. I do however go back to my regular calories even if I go out to eat and don't know the exact amount of calories I've consumed. It's working since, with the exception of pregnancy, I've maintained my weight for 18 years. I think you should experiment if you're…
  • I love Beachbody on Demand. I don't use it on a regular basis but I used it often when my daughter was under 1 and I wasn't comfortable taking her to the gym and I use it all the time when I travel. The videos are easy and fun, you don't even feel like you're working out.
  • I'm 5'2. I weighed _ _when I became pregnant and was _ _ _when I got out of the hospital. My original goal was to get back to _ _but have come to terms with the realization I like my body better at _ _. All my old clothes still fit so I'm just going to hang out here and maintain. Someone once reported me on this site for…
  • So, my cholesterol is 228. My HDL is higher than my LDL as well. It's down from 325. I'm 40. Workout regularly and (here's the real kicker) I'm 5'2 and weigh 97 pounds. 97. Granted that's up from the 94 I was before my baby was born. Crazy, right? Evidently it's genetic. I'm not on meds. One of the things which helped me…
  • I'm very petite (5'2 & under 100) and, after my daughter, I thought my stomach would always stay a little "rounder". Then, a few months ago, it just went away. I have no idea why. I didn't change anything...I just defeated (not complaining). It was odd. So, hang in there. Sounds like you're doing everything right.
  • After I had my daughter I was so out of shape. I LOOKED fine but I couldn't do what I used to be able to do. While I'm not back in marathon running shape, I'm pretty close. Once I put my mind to it, it came back pretty quickly so don't worry. You'll be running up those steps in no time.
  • Today is my first day of summer vacation! I'm super excited since I'm limited to the "mommy and me" (I'm the mommy, lol) classes at my gym which are only offered during the week and on Sunday so now I'll get more hard core gym time. I'm determined to have a six pack by my daughter's 2nd birthday. Feel free to add and happy…
  • I'm very petite, under 100lbs, I give myself 3 pounds on the up side for water, lady issues, etc. but only one pound in the other direction.
  • I've been there. I understand. If it helps, it gets better. Talk to your support team and be honest about how you are feeling. They'll understand. The more you talk about your fears the easier it will become. I officially went through recovery in 1995 when I was 19. It was difficult, but looking back, I count it as a…
  • I prefer appearance (and health) over BMI after all, no one follows me around with a scale. Technically, according to my BMI I'm "under weight" but I'm still not happy with my appearance so I'm working to build muscle.
  • H&M and Zara are my two favorites right now. I still find a few things at Forever 21 and Nordstrom's jrs department but it's become increasingly more difficult the older I get to find appropriate work attire there.
  • I was running marathons, teaching spin classes, and even doing some fitness modeling...then I had my daughter. I'm back to my previous weight, all my clothes fit, but my physical fitness level is pathetic. I just started going back to the gym yesterday (the "baby" is 1 1/2).
  • I'm so late to this party, but my New Year's goal was to not drink for 1 year. I'm trying to get cut as opposed to losing weight. So far I haven't slipped. It's been a lot easier than I thought but I have a young child at home and don't really go out, so I assume that's part of it.
  • Teachers!!!! I'm a high school Language Arts teacher. I teach sophomores and have been teaching as long as they've been alive (which blows their minds). I find it extremely hard to eat at work. I hate eating in front of people so if I have students in my room at lunch I won't eat and during my conference period (free…
  • Hi. I'm 5'2. 40. And I'm in maintenance...technically underweight (98 lbs) but could always use some friends.
  • I'm an avid reader. I prefer Ebooks. I love having all my books with me at all times.
  • I can only give my opinion based on my own experience. I'm adopted. Although I participated in a lot of activities (acting, pageants, dance, cheer) which people assume create body image conflicts I was a happy, healthy, kid. At 5'2 & 112 lbs. I set off for college. When I returned home from my first semester I weighed 78.…
