  • Like most of you, menopause has had some hard parts for me. I am 57 and 5"2', 130 lb. Hot flashes are the worst, with vaginal dryness (thank God for coconut oil) and sagging skin close behind. The weight gain issue is more a result of muscle mass loss. I weigh about the same as I always have, but I feel less firm. Yoga is…
  • Im glad it wasn't anything serious. Seriously, if it hurts, do not do it. I'm not sure what PD stands for, but seeing a doctor and resting until you can see one is the nurses advice.
  • I am so on your track! I have always struggled with a 10-20 lb. excess in body fat. I start and sputter out because there was no one to connect with and be accountable to.
  • I have used MFP over and over again, but always seem to fade away. Accountability is the missing ingredient. It isn't enough to be accountable to myself. I need daily interaction that keeps me accountable. I would like to participate in this group, please. I am 5'2" with bad scoliosis. I weigh 128lb. but I feel flabby. I…
  • It takes a long time to heal joint injuries. So you have to find an exercise that you can do safely. But more importantly as Arditarose said, stay in a calorie deficit day to day. Portion control cannot be overstressed. Get a small digital scale, use smaller plates, eat consciously.
  • It has been a while since I participated in the website BUT I want to be consistent with one thing in my life that is good for me. I am thankful for all the people who participate and support each other. bri170b wrote that a she lost 100 pounds and is jogging 5Ks, and I feel like my problem is so small by comparison. I…
  • Capricorn, You hit the nail on the head! In spite of my limitations there is a lot that I can do to keep active. I have plenty of time. I enjoy the feeling of satisfaction during and after the workout. And yet I sit here at the computer, I do housework or gardening every day. I do errands, but put them off until the last…
  • Just for today, I value my health and my body Just for today I will grocery shop, buying whole foods as much as they are available and sticking to my list. I eat healthy food only when I am hungry and stop when I am not. Take small bites and chew slowly to savor the flavor. Just for today I will get on the elliptical…
  • Hi Vicky, My name is Michelle, and I would like to join your group. One day at a time is a brilliant way to deal with with weight management. I have a brain injury, and holding things like goals and plans in my mind is difficult. When I read your beginning posts on this thread, I realized I can do that! I do not have to…
  • Hello, I am new to this thread, and looking for some motivation. I have used F.P. for a few years, off and on. I need to get involved so I will maintain interest and accountability. Yesterday I went swimming and vacuumed for an hour. Then my back was killing me. Today I am going for a bike ride, that is easy on my back.
