Wish I had some after pics but am still at the starting line myself.

Like Sunny, I've not started any supplements (well, other than ones for other medical issues) yet and have felt fairly well thus far. I know magnesium and potassium seem to be the two big ones, but is there certain brands or doses that are better? And any other supplements I might need to look into as well?

My family was fairly poor so we ate what we could afford. I remember salmon patties, macaroni and cheese, fried potatoes, beans and cornbread, lots of buttered bread, bologna and cheese, cereal, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. etc. My fave times were going to Grandma's house, where we would always have biscuits and sausage…

Congrats on the job! Some of the things I take to work are hard boiled eggs, nuts, cheese sticks, nut butter and celery. Some easy lunches would be leftovers, tuna salad w/leaf lettuce, burger, seasoned ground beef with some lettuce and shredded cheese. We have a breakroom so I'm able to keep the fridge stocked about as…

It does help, Dan...A LOT. Thank you!

Such an inspiration! Love it!!

I am fairly new to this woe (appx. 2 months) so may not have the success story you are looking for, but feel just discovering LCHF has been a huge success already. Also: Not constantly hungry. Success. Feeling more in control. Success. Fewer hypothyroid symptoms. Success. Lower blood sugar readings. Success. Losing weight.…

YAY for you!!!! I'm soooooo very happy to hear this! :)

Hugs to you, Knit. You are an inspiration! :) My secret is having some major medical issues occur all within about a year's time. It suddenly sunk in that I was killing myself and it was time to stop...NOW!

Way to go!

Our paths are pretty much parallel. I've been doing strength training to try and get the metabolism building a little again, but I think it's this woe that's done the most for me so far.

*waves to everyone* Hope you all are enjoying this group! :)

Sorry, forgot to answer your question. My carbs are set at 20...somedays I'm under that and somedays I might be a little over.

Experimenting to find what works best for you is a perfect plan. Have fun with it and if questions come up, everyone here is great to help. :)

Thank you!

In no way am I an expert or equipped to give medical advice, but so much of what you post sounds like the thyroid he!! I've been dealing with. Not a single doctor ever seemed concerned about my thyroid, even with all the symptoms I would give them (which I had no clue at the time were related to thyroid as well). After…

Pregnancies messed me up pretty good as well. *sigh*

I have a ways to go too, Lisa, so let's both get the job done! :)

Did someone say cake? *perk*

Congrats on everyone's successes! I've lost 16 lbs. in about 1 1/2 months. My net carbs are 20 or less/day.

Sabine, here's the link for Fat Head: http://www.fathead-movie.com/index.php/2013/06/30/weekend-bonus-the-older-brothers-oldest-sons-faux-carb-pizza/

I've not made the cauliflower crust but have made the Fat Head pizza crust. It was delicious!
-
I haven't made any low carb breads, but I did do the Fat Head (think that's what it's called) pizza crust and loved that!

Nuts, even though LCHF friendly, can be a downfall for me if I'm not really really careful. I could keep eating them until there is no more.
-
20 or under net carbs for me and I might add some berries toward the end of day if I see my carbs are fairly low.

Welcome Sarah. Definitely sounds like you have the right mindset. Now get it done! :)
