  • I apologize if my post was poor wording, I was using the diagnosis criteria listed in the DSM-5, which includes being underweight as one of the symptoms to be diagnosed. I understand that one can experience internal damages, without displaying a low weight but that would typically be classified as OSFED. I really do…
  • I think this sounds like a great place to start! Remember to not get discouraged if you don't see the weight/inches fall off right away from this change. Give it a few weeks to really decide if this new plan is working for you and your body!
  • It's not uncommon for a child to come home and slightly exaggerate what was said by the teacher. I would do this as a child because I didn't like what the teacher said. The children I nanny for do this all the time. They may have gotten in trouble at school and have received an appropriate punishment in return and therefor…
  • I have to say I don't agree with this. If this was the case, people who suffer from anorexia would not be losing weight in a rapid and unsafe manner. If you're constantly eating a very low calorie diet you will lose weight. Starvation mode is not real.
  • Are you finding yourself hungry at the end of the day? If so, things like peanut butter, nuts, and avocado are some calorie dense foods. You could make some peanut butter toast or avocado toast. If you're not very hungry and feel satisfied on 1000-1200 cals check to make sure you're logging and weighing everything…
  • When I search the database I add usda at the end and I find I get a more accurate entry. I also weigh all of my food so my entries say things like whole egg 50 grams and egg white 30 grams, not just "5 scrambled eggs". I use the spray oil so I quick add 5-10 calories for that. To get the most accurate calorie entry you…
  • I agree with meal prepping. Yes, a salad may seem more than those 99 cent meals, however, the ingredients for a salad will last longer. Those 99 cent meals add up! When I grocery shop I look at all of the ads at the stores in my area and find the products I need that are the cheapest. My grocery trips last a little longer…
  • When I was in school and on campus the whole day I was a big fan of building my own bento boxes. I'd have a few apple slices (or grapes), some whole wheat crackers, and some slices of cheese. I also liked hummus and veggies (carrots, celery, sugar snap peas) with some sliced pita. Those can both be budget friendly if…
  • Would you recommend one with the removable bowl opposed to just one with the raised surface? I like the Taylor brand so I'm also looking for some input! (Sorry, not to steal your post OP!)
  • You kind of just have to do it. It's hard, but you just have to constantly remind yourself how much better you'll feel if you don't eat the yummy, yet high calorie and unhealthy, stuff every meal. When I had a meal plan I didn't do breakfast in the cafe (I did brunch there on weekends). I never wanted to get up early…
  • I have one that I got from target about a year ago. It was on sale for $12. I like it and it does everything I need it to. The only reason I'm considering getting a new one is because I want one that has an elevated surface. It's a bit difficult to read the scale when there's a plate on it so I think having the elevated…
  • I'm 5'5 and wear a size 6 (27 European) usually. I do have a pair that is a 5 but they're on the stretchy side and are probably more like a 6 than a 5
  • The reason perfectly healthy people get flu shots and other vaccinations is to keep up herd immunity. Herd immunity protects those who cannot get certain vaccinations for any reason and for those who are immunocompromised. It doesn't matter if you don't get sick often, by protecting yourself you are protecting those who…
  • I HIGHLY recommend a food scale! I got mine for $12 at target. I had no idea the portions I thought were correct were actually way larger than the suggested serving size. I was essentially eating a couple hundred extra calories that I didn't even realize about. Make sure you're accounting for cooking oils/butters as well…
  • Hi there! I work as a patient care nurse assistant. Those 12 hour shifts can really get to you! I rotate day/nights the typical 7-7. I only work part time (usually 2 shifts per week) since the reason I have this job is so I can log patient care hours so my graduate school applications, but I still understand the struggle.…
  • I add tea and la croix sparkling water in the water log. Unless you add any sweeteners or milk/cream to your tea I think it's perfectly acceptable to log it along with your water!
  • Hey girlfriend! Have you considered taking a break from insanity and looking into less intense programs? I've been doing fitness blender videos (all free) and I'm getting great workouts without that intense soreness. Don't get me wrong, I definitely feel it the next day! But it doesn't hurt so bad that I have to skip a day…
  • I've had several friends gain more than a normal amount of weight when on the birth control injection. I would maybe consult your gyn for an opinion. That was one of the reasons I actually stayed away from the injection was because I talked to a number of people who experience this kind of weight gain!
  • Exercise: no formal workout but I did a lot of shopping today, including a Costco run, and my Fitbit reported 40 active minutes from that Calories: under! Tracked: everything logged I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
  • Just dropping in my quick check in! Exercise: 37 minute fitness blender workout video Calories: under! Tracked: everything logged and accounted for Have a nice night everyone!
  • We saw Bad moms Christmas! We saw the first Bad moms movie together so it was only appropriate to see the second together :) it has Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell in it- it's absolutely hilarious! Just one of your typical comedy movies but I think the girls in it are so funny
  • I'm only .4lbs away from 145lbs, one of my mini goals! The scale says I'm actually at 144.8lbs but I use happy scale to get my overall trend weight so it's a little more accurate. I'm hoping by the middle of next week I'll be down to 145 officially! I haven't been in the mid/low 140s since 2014 so I'm very excited for this…
  • How is it already check in number 3!? Anyway, happy Friday everyone! I don't have much planned for this weekend- I think I'm seeing a movie with my mom tonight since I haven't had time with her in awhile! Tomorrow will probably be the usual housework and errands and Sunday I plan to relax a bit! Exercise: I walked my pup…
  • A tapa is just a small plate :) I had a ton of different ones when I was in Spain. They're really just smaller servings of different foods that you can share or have to yourself. I think it's fun to order several for the table to share as the meal if it isn't a large crowd!
  • You either like it or you don't, I don't think there's really an in between. I love it! My favorite flavors are the peach pear, cran-raspberry, and berry! My least favorite are coconut and the plain one. And if you have an Aldi buy you they often times have cases of it for a little bit cheaper!
  • SW: 170lbs LW: 145.6lbs TW: 144.8lbs I'm excited for a new month of this accountability! It's one of my favorite groups :)
  • Zucchini, pickles, and popcorn!
  • Hi all! Today was an overall good day. I don't have to work again until Monday- woohoo! Exercise: didn't have time for a gym workout but I did take my pup on a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood this afternoon. It's been pretty cold here recently but today was fairly nice (high of 55 lol) so I took advantage of it!…
  • You can add me if you'd like! I'm very active and log everything I eat, even if it's a binge. I've been doing very well with not binging recently. I went through a few years of just awful binging episodes. I would love other friends who have had or are currently having similar experiences as I did/still do at some times.
  • I've been noticing the same thing! I'm usually a very hot person (sleeping with the fan on in the dead of winter) but lately I've been a bit chilly. I've lost 25lbs but I can't imagine it's had this big of an effect! I do live in northern Ohio and it's been pretty chilly here lately so it could very easily be the…
