Been too busy to check in or post anything for the past few days...so I missed 227 new posts! You all are still amazing. I did get in a gummy 4 miles after some much needed rain on Thursday morning, and a slightly muggy 10 miles yesterday. I'm on pace to hit my monthly goal dead on. I can't wait for my next run, though...I…

I was out the door at 5am for a surprisingly pleasant 4 mile run. Good thing, too, because it's getting hot out there! 97 degrees yesterday when I got home from town to install the window a/c unit I finally caved in and purchased. Ahhhhhhhh!

@greenolivetree Beautiful, and thanks! @kimlight2 Some people are such *squirrel*bags. Glad you're okay! @CarmenChaban We all have to start somewhere. I started and finished C25K a year ago, in the hopes that I could handle the impact of running ONE MILE after a bad leg injury a few years ago. In May, I finished a half…

The sun came up behind a thick layer of smoke this morning, which had me dreading my long run. Surprisingly, though, the "clouds" actually kept things cooler than usual, and there was a really refreshing light breeze that kept kicking up every time I needed it. For the second week in a row, I was really surprised by how…

So, apparently it's better to run slowly than to jog fast. AND, I'm a runner because I say I am, but if one day a mountain lion catches me, I'll be demoted. Lol. Waddle on!

Got up before the sun to plug out another 4 miles. I was blaming the wind for my sluggishness (I HATE running in wind) until later in the morning when I realised the air was thick with smoke blowing in from New Mexico and Arizona. The next few days won't be fun, especially with temps in the mid to high 90s. Ugh...I hate…

Beautiful 4 mile run on a nice cool morning. Best part was watching the dogs romping and chasing birds, bunnies and pronghorn. (They never catch anything, so it's just good exercise for everyone!) Happy running, y'all!

Did a nice 10 mile run at an easy pace this morning. Felt good enough that I was able to push it a little on my last mile, when I'm usually pretty fatigued on my long runs. Still not setting any records, but I'm getting it done. It was hot enough that I had to hose myself down when I got home. I'm thinking next time I…

As usual, it's been too long since I logged in and I'm overwhelmed by the number of posts. Just consider yourselves awesome. Another four miles done this morning, which gives me 18 for the month. It's getting hot, and all the wine I've been drinking with my parents since they've been visiting is taking its toll. Oh, well.…

4 mile run in sticky wet clay this morning. Not exactly conditions for setting speed records, but I'm betting the extra calorie burn was significant!

Today was supposed to be my long run, but my patents are visiting and I knew I was going to drag my mom around the rim trail on Capulin Volcano later in the morning, so I took it easy and just did 6 miles. That gives me 10 for June so far. Great running, y'all! I'm going to Google Pigeon Pose right now.

Four miles of 70 done this morning. I swear I'll figure out the ticker thing sometime this week, so I can be one of the cool kids.

I learned I can start and finish a half marathon without embarrassing myself. And that it's actually more fun to run in a big event like that than in the wilderness alone. The pronghorn antelope around here don't spark my competitive instincts! In any case, I got in a "quick" 4 miles this morning, making my May total 74.…

I'm going for 70 this month. Parents are visiting for the first week so that might throw me off a bit...but I bet I can catch up!
-
Lol. I have to drive 45 minutes for groceries! That's awesome you have something so beautiful so close...totally worth it!
-
@greenolivetree gorgeous pics! Where is this? Looks like a really fun trail run.

Just finished a 12 mile run this morning, which gives me an even 70 for this month so far. I do an out-and-back course on dirt and gravel roads from my house. Since I live on 1700 acres, I have to go 4 miles before I pass my only neighbor, and my scenery currently consists of miles of green grass, wildflowers and cholla…

So I've been too busy over the past couple days to check in, but I just made it through all 256 intervening posts. Holy crap...you guys are all amazing. I'm a little too overwhelmed to post any individual comments, but to those rehabbing or facing surgery, I wish you a speedy recovery, and to those who have achieved…

Morning, all! Thanks for the welcome. I have to say, I'm already really glad I joined this group. If I hadn't declared last night that I was going to run 10 miles today, I would have quit much earlier! So, that's 50 miles done in May, 10 more to goal. Thanks for the judgement-free accountability. ;-)

Hey there, everybody! I'm joining this party a little late, and I feel kinda bad about interrupting...but I keep hearing about what a wonderful, supportive and informative group you all are so I figured I might as well dive in. Here's my miles so far this month: 5/3 - 3 mi 5/5 - 3 mi 5/7 - 13 mi 5/12 - 5 mi 5/15 - 13 mi…

Hi all! I started running again about a year ago. Almost four years ago I was hit by a car and essentially snapped my right tibia and fibula in half, with a few fun fragments. It took close to three years before I was able to handle the impact of running a little bit, and it was here on MFP that I heard about the C25K…

The foods you've eaten today sound delicious! And, they're real food, not processed crap or junk food. Ideally, you could eat smaller portions, ie. half of the baguette with ham and brie today and save half for lunch tomorrow, and the same with the curry. How is your overall weekly deficit? If you're eating below your…

You beat me to it! Just over the last week or so (I would have just finished week 3 of C25K) my achilles tendon has gotten very inflamed and painful right at the insertion. I was going to write a post with the exact same title, but hadn't gotten around to it yet. I'm pretty sure mine is secondary to an injury (hit by car,…

LOVE lifting. Hate not eating everything. Working on that second part.

I have this recipe posted on my fridge. It's 350 F for 15 minutes. Not sure what the 240 is, because 240 F translates roughly to 460 F. These are delicious!

I'm in. What are the guidelines?
