Yes, that's why I want a new set of bloodwork, so I have more than 3 months of "trying to be good" data. I want to see if the changes I have made are "good enough" or do I need to crank down harder on the carbs or make other changes. I've been walking about 30 min/2 miles a day 5-6 days a week (or a little less the 2 days…

I got a pre diabetic diagnosis last year at my physical. A1c of 5.9. I meant to change up my habits then, but it didn't happen :( until about a month before my physical this year when suddenly I could and did get serious about some healthier habits. I dropped about 10 pounds and managed to lower my cholesterol, but my A1c…

We had a delicious pound cake for our wedding cake. And it was a HUGE cake. At the wedding we ate the middle layer. We had the entire top to save plus the bottom left. We ate cake for a long while. But we found that pound cake freezes beautifully. We had some on our anniversary for the next TEN years! And it was still…

I've got the opposite issue. I can see and feel the 20 pounds I've lost (some before I joined MFP) in the last 3 months, but only in the last week has anyone else seemed to notice. And even then only a couple of people. It's a bit disheartening, but maybe they notice and just aren't saying anything?
And, of course, a homemade apple or cherry pie will involve sugar. I can see why this should be eaten in moderation and after getting in good nutritious meals and within calories, but is it really "crap"? I am not offended if you want to call my pie such, but I wouldn't have said that to my grandma.
A…

Thanks petitehealth for the idea of taking pictures of my plate. I did that and then did my best estimate of logging once I got home. Based on my guesses I ate a lot of calories, but not over my daily limit. Went a little wild on sweets, but mostly just little tastes of multiple things. I even had calories left for a small…

Thanks to all. I had no idea there was a potluck listing in the database. I think I will log the major stuff and then do one entry of that for all the bites of various things. It's an annual afternoon potluck and I know from experience that I either want nothing or a very small snack for dinner. So I will just try to make…

Yep, using the website fixed it. 1600 cal for loss, 1850 for maintaining. Thanks

Ok, I'll try from the website. I've been doing it all from my phone. Hope that does it.

I'm 5'7". Last year at my physical I was at 168. This year I was 150. My dr was very pleased and didn't think I should go much lower. 150 had been my goal, but after getting there I decided I'm aiming a bit lower. Maybe down to 140? It's more how I look and feel and how clothes fit now as I'm at a healthy weight. I know I…

I'm 5'7" and I don't think I've ever been a size 2. I went straight from a girls size to about a size 5/6 US. I was a string bean then at about age 12 with smaller breasts and almost no hips. Now I'm about 145-150 and down to about a size 12. I doubt I'll ever see less than a size 10. Between my hips which spread from…

Following, because I'm worried this might be me soon. I'm having trouble convincing myself to eat all my calories now. I have my goal at 0.5 lbs/wk, because I'm approaching my goal, but I'm still losing at over a pound per week. Maybe I need to list my goal as maintence, to get used to seeing those higher allowable…

One thing I did years ago with respect to fried chicken DH and I really enjoyed, but was not the best choice, was we said we could get it for the community outdoor concerts where we took a picnic. They only had these concerts about 3x a year(Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day) and we were often out of town for at least…

Yes, since Thursday my sugars have not been so much just from fruit/dairy. It's blackberry season and I do love a good cobbler. I was trying to be very good for a while, but as I get closer to my goal weight, I'm trying to see what my numbers look like for maintenance. I know I won't stick with an incredibly strict diet…

I'm pretty new to this tracking. I didn't realize I could set MPF to track something like fiber instead of sugar. I am concerned about the sugars as my doctor told me I am pre-diabetic. But most of my sugars are coming from fruits or dairy, which seems relatively healthy. It's just all too easy to go over. Really…
