  • That fat drops in odd ways. I noticed a difference in my hips the other day- left side has dropped noticeably more fat than the right. Eventually it will even out. Just a great reminder that the body has its own agenda when it comes to picking which fat it burns first. (I giggle at articles that claim they know the secret…

  • Nine years ago my mom told me that everyone feels fat, stupid, and ugly when going through a divorce. So I worked hard to counteract that by losing weight, taking French lessons, and learning how to dress and put in make up and do my hair. I ended up losing between 30-40lbs in three months. A lot of that was stress…

  • I have the same issue with being hungry by the end of the day, but it seems to be less of an issue when I have my first meal closer to noon. I'm not usually hungry first thing in the morning, though, so that works for me. May not work for you.
  • Beef jerky!!!!! It's so yummy and filling and relatively low calorie. It's easy to stash in a small snack bag in a pocket. I like almonds as well. But beef jerky is better. 😂
  • You're doing great! Some folks just aren't terribly responsive. They may be cheering quietly! I like to friend people in the forums whose sense of humor is awesome or who seem to build people up in a regular basis. The last time I was on mfp, I would go through my friends list after a while and cull the ones who weren't…
  • My husband grew up on fast food and Dr Pepper. It blows my mind how well he can process that stuff and still have a great bod. But he is super active and has always told me that you can eat whatever you want as long as you get enough exercise throughout the day to work it off. You're doing great. We all get to have great…
  • I've turned mine off because it's registering my phone's step monitor thingy. My pedometer doesn't sync directly. Some eat those calories back, some just eat a portion, and some ignore them all together. I'm not sure it's a one size fits all kind of a deal. I am usually hungry and so eat back my workout calories. The few…
  • Age: 40 Height: 5'7" SW: 185 GW: 135 Day/Weight/Comment 6/28....179....got a new scale today and my fears were correct. The old one was broken and super inaccurate. So bummed. 6/29...179....trudging along. Staying on track with the tracking but didn't meet my step goal for the day. Was on the road most of it.…
  • 😂😂😂😂 Man. And there I was thinking ONE hotdog wasn't worth it. 😂
  • I'm a month in and just now starting to see a shift on the scale. But I also take measurements of my bust, waist, and hips at the widest part. The measurements show an inch loss in all three areas, even when my weight was staying the same. I work to stay within mfp's recommended 1200 calories and eat back calories I've…

  • For me, identifying the triggers helps me most. Hen I know what sets me off I can avoid it. Just knowing what is going on helps.
  • You could push harder to make sure you burn what you ate. Got stairs? Even if you have to do jumping jacks in love or walk in a small circle for and hour or two. You can still burn off why you ate. I say that as a reminder to me too. 😄 I'm exhausted and went over my daily goal for today by like 200 calories. And here I am…
  • I wonder how many people eat at specific times because of the whole "gotta eat breakfast at breakfast time, lunch at lunch time, and dinner at dinner time" thing. Some people swear up and down that more meals are better, but that doesn't work for everyone. The reported mental clarity could be coming from getting back to a…
  • Hahahaha! @mom23mangos that's how my sister is about it. But then, she is grossed out by pies as well 😂
  • @VUA21 One of my besties didn't come to a local 4th party or show up for the town fireworks and I found out the next day that she and her family did their own thing- all quiet like and on their own schedule. I was all "wait---- we can do that?!?" 😂😂😂 As lovely as it is to know others care and want us around, it still…
  • The woo factor doesn't seem to mean much, really. People will woo things when their opinions are different. I've had people woo things I have said that aren't offensive, are pure opinion and stated as such, or something that can be legitimately backed up.
  • I'm 5'7" and currently in a size 12 jean at 178lbs. I was, on average, a size 4 when I weighed 135lbs.
  • I think people just like labels. I prefer to avoid eating when I not hungry which means I naturally to the intermittent fasting but I don't feel the need to label it. My mom is currently in love with all sorts of fasting and "intermittent " seems to be the buzz word of choice right now.
  • @Dee_D33 omg!!!! We were just talking about cornbread in milk!!!! My sister is 17 years my junior and somehow she never managed to have cornbread in milk. My grandmother always had day old cornbread like that so I thought it was the norm.
  • I am strict with logging my intake and keep my calories burned estimates on the lower end vs what my fitness tracker and some websites say. I'm in that whole perimenopause phase of life, so the weight doesn't come off just because I keep my calorie intake below a certain point and stay active. There are so many variables.…
  • @mom23mangos TX Hill Country girl here, but utterly fascinated with the eats in Houston. You can get just about anything there! It's heaven! But with a million percent humidity 😂 I miss Kolaches. Especially when they are made with opa's sausage with cheese and jalapeños- drool!!!! I have some food intolerance issues and…
  • I feel ya on wanting numbers. Mfp helps satiate some of my obsessive tendencies. It's frustrating not being able to be as accurate as possible sometimes.
  • I feel ya. I divorced an absolutely horrid human being almost ten years ago. Moving on, even from a bad situation is scary. It's the unknown thing. One thing to ponder is that you aren't really alone when you find yourself again. It's empowering and absolutely glorious to be able to go for a walk, or a movie when ever YOU…
