  • I'm currently using a pedometer, but I plan on getting a Fit Bit One. A pedometer has made such a big difference for me in terms of weight loss. It motivates me to move more and be a couch potato less.

  • It wasn't mean, but I think it was said out of insecurity. When I was with my boyfriend at the time and I went from 200 to 180, he told me he'd leave me if I got skinny. He said he didn't like skinny women. Being 5'6" and my goal weight is 150, I don't think I'll be "skinny". I just want to be lean and toned. To this day…
  • I'm 5'6" with 20 lbs left to lose and right now I eat 1200-1400.
  • I don't add salt onto anything except for steak, burgers and chicken. Other than that, my salt intake is from foods it's naturally occurring in. I have to use caution with salt though, since I retain water if I consume too much more than 1,200mg. 1,500 is generally my limit.
  • I set mine to active because I get around 15k steps a day, sometimes around 16-17k. I rack up anywhere from 8-11k steps just at work alone depending on the day (I'm a vet tech). In the evening after I eat dinner I'll walk around my apartment for at least an hour to get my additional steps in. I've been seeing daily weight…
  • My scrub pants for work are getting loose and I tie them as tight as I can. I think I'm going to be wearing medium size pants here soon. My size 12 jeans are also getting pretty big. When I sit down it looks like I have a penis because they bunch up lol. Oh, and I had to create another notch on my belt because the ones on…

  • I set my goal weight at 150. For my height, 5'6", that's the high end of being normal for my height. I decided to set it at that and when I reach that goal I'll reassess how I look and feel. I want to reach a weight where I don't look sickly. I'm 171 right now and my collar bones are already pretty prominent.
  • I looked into JUDDD, but the down day just seemed too restricting and I thought I'd be miserable. I've read on other forums how people have found success with it, but I have a hard time eating under 1000 calories as is.
  • How do you make ice cream with protein powder out of curiosity?
  • http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/peanut_butter_fudge.html It's not quite as creamy as regular fudge, obviously, but I feel if it were it'd be higher in carbs. I use her site quite often for new recipes. Some are recipes she's found from others and some are recipes she's tweaked from a high carb version. It's nice because she…

  • I don't use protein powder very often. For one it's too expensive for how much you get, but sometimes I do like making protein shakes using the chocolate flavor and adding peanut butter. I also keep vanilla powder on hand to make peanut butter fudge. It is nice to have on hand for recipes that call for it.
  • Mayo, butter, HWC, full fat cheese and dressing, burgers. I incorporate all of those into my meals daily and I have no problem hitting 70%.
  • I'm not saying salt isn't an important mineral, but I actually lose weight better when I limit my sodium to under 1200mg. Maybe my body is the exception? Not sure. That's one thing I do pay close attention to and if I consume too much over that, I'll see water weight gain on the scale. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but…
  • Forgot to add that I add Splenda to it as well. But you should definitely try it sometime. It's delicious. It's a nice breakfast with some sausage to go along with it. :)
  • I added you. It's funny because until I joined MFP I didn't know there was such a thing as keto. I always said I did low carb but I do more extreme low carb than most (<20g a day). So I guess I've been keto all this time and didn't know it. I ignore those who say you don't need to count carbs. I often find myself getting…
  • I do pretty much the same thing, but I make it into an omelette. I call it French toast omelette. I use eggs, a little HWC, vanilla SF syrup and cinnamon. Top with butter and SF syrup. It's delicious. It's basically how you would make French toast minus the bread and to me it tastes a lot like it.
  • It's honestly don't measure, although I probably should. It's rare for me to go a whole week and not lose any weight. Before I might not had lost weight for a day or two, but since I started tracking my food and using a pedometer, I've been losing weight every day. I do weigh myself daily because I like to know what my…
  • I do 70% fat, 25% protein and 5% carbs
  • It seems there is a low carb alternative to literally everything. I stumbled upon a low carb donut recipe. However, I think I'd get in trouble and want to eat them all lol. They looked too good.
  • That's fine. Feel free to Google it and read up on it. There are some pretty good videos on YouTube that can explain it a little better than I can. I was going to post some links instead, but I wasn't sure how reputable you were looking for. Physiology is not my specialty haha. You can also type in metabolic syndrome in…
  • I'm not too good at explaining things, but I'll do my best. In a normal person when they eat carbs it triggers a response to the pancreas to release insulin into the muscle cells to be used for energy. In an insulin resistant individual when they consume a food that is high in carbs it also triggers the pancreas to release…
  • My actual grams vary and I don't pay much attention to them except for carbs, but I'm usually around 70% fat, 25% protein and 5% carbs.
  • I wish I knew, but I know in the past I've tried just eating healthy while still eating carbs and I either didn't lose any weight or I gained even while keeping my calories within a range I should had been in a deficit. While doing low carb I've gone from 240 lbs and I'm a few pounds away from breaking into the 160's.…
  • So I see it says 2 ounces of cream cheese, but doesn't specify it needs to be softened. I softened mine when I tried if before. Could that be one area I went wrong?
  • I'm going to have to pick up some more cream cheese and I'll probably try the Snickerdoodle crepes next weekend when I have more time. They look and sound absolutely divine! I'll give the cream cheese pancakes another go again sometime as well.
  • I'm not a diabetic nor do I have any medical conditions.
  • When I said some people don't tolerate carbs, it was a loose statement. I guess I should had specified, but when I'm referring to carbs it's the starchy carbs, including whole grains. And I am one of those people. The whole debate that it doesn't matter what you eat as long as you're in a caloric deficit doesn't work nor…
  • You didn't read my entire post if you think I eat zero carbs. I eat under 20g a day. On average I usually consume around 15. My body doesn't tolerate starchy carbs. And yes, I'm aware that there are complex carbs such as beans, fruit and other veggies, but I feel great limiting carbs to the extent that I do. If it's not…
  • What are the flaws in my post? I'm curious to know since apparently you know everything.
