Plantar fasciitis
I've been battling with plantar fasciitis for the past 3 months and it's frustrating me to no end. Some days it's tolerable and other days I'm practically hobbling around with the weight on the front of my foot. I've tried stretching, icing (which seems to make it worse), wearing supportive shoes, orthotics (but not the…

Garlic bread. Frozen or cookes for the weight?
I've always weighed it as frozen but now I'm not so sure. The serving size weight is 40g but when I weighed it partially thawed it came to 53g! So I ended up cutting some off. If you eat garlic bread, do you weigh it as frozen or once it's cooked?

Jif peanut powder vs PB2
I tried the Jif peanut powder with a banana today and it tasted God awful. In fact, there was virtually no peanut butter taste at all. I bought a small thing of PB2 in case I didn't like it. Is it any better tasting than the Jif? I had high hopes for the Jif, but it was no good. Are these peanut powders meant more for…

Does calories burned = TDEE?
I have a Charge HR and on average it's telling me I burn around 2700 calories a day. I'm generally pretty close to 2000 calories burned when I get home from work. I usually get 8-10k steps during my shift which is 7:30-6 with an hour lunch break. I'm 5'6", 31 years old and 161 lbs. I've been struggling to get into the…

Significant others that don't understand calorie counting
How do you handle a significant other that doesn't understand calorie counting? My boyfriend for the most part doesn't care about the foods I eat and he'll eat what I make for dinner, etc. But sometimes he wants to go out to dinner which is fine, but he'll spring it on me last minute when I've already had most of my…

Activity level
I know that you're supposed to set your activity level to sedentary when using an activity tracker. For a while I set mine to active and would usually get about 300-500 calorie adjustment since I walk 15-20k steps. I never ate back my exercise calories. Recently I decided to set my activity level to sedentary to follow…

Ideas for giving steamed broccoli flavor?
I do enjoy steamed broccoli, but I don't eat it enough because I can't seem to find good ways to give it flavor. I love spicy foods and I am a big fan of the sriracha hot chili sauce but I also like to keep my sodium in check. 240mg for a tablespoon just seems like too much. I also can't do butter on broccoli anymore. I…

Activity level
I've always set my activity level to lightly active, but sometimes I wonder if I should set it to active. I'm a veterinary technician and can easily walk 4 miles a day at work; there have been days we were super busy and I've walked more than that. Some days are definitely more physically active such as if I'm lifting a…

Logging boxed rice
So I am making a box of long grain wild rice that is chicken flavor. The box says the mix is 200 calories and prepared is 240 calories per serving. I'm not using butter or oil like it says, so would I just use the calories for mix? Sorry if this is a dumb question

Low carb veggies
I do eat my veggies, but I don't think I have a big variety of vegetables I do like to eat, or others I haven't thought to eat. I keep my carbs under 20g a day for now. I'll probably increase later when I'm in maintenance, but still under 50g. Currently the only vegetables I eat are lettuce, tomatoes, broccoli, green…

Low carb pancakes?
Has anyone ever found a good recipe for low carb pancakes? I would prefer one that doesn't involve baking mixes. I tried the cream cheese and eggs way and they were too thin when trying to flip. I got frustrated and threw them out. I have seen some that use almond flour, coconut flour or protein powder. I was just curious…

One Minute Muffin anyone?
These are actually really good. And yes, it really only takes one minute to make. The possibilities are endless. My favourite way to make them is to add banana extract. It's also really good to add a little canned pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice then top with cream cheese icing (low carb of course!) Each muffin (both…

Are you supposed to eat back your calories you burn?
So, I used a calculator on IIFYM to see what my TDEE is. I got that if I work out I should consume 1700-1800 calories and if I don't between 1500-1550. The part that confuses me is say I eat 1700 and burn 400 calories through exercise, am I supposed to eat back some or none of those calories? My main concern is I don't…

Recommended HRM?
I've been looking into the Fit Bit and I have a family member that really likes it, but I was curious what others opinions are of the various monitors. I prefer one that is a wrist band or watch. My main source of exercise is walking, but I also do cardio kickboxing and the treadmill or elliptical. I'm also curious to see…
