Ice and elevation should help with the swelling. I had ACL reconstruction surgery 8 weeks ago and, after eight weeks of physical therapy, am now allowed to do limited time on treadmill (at 1.5 mph), recumbent bicycle and swimming. Will move to elliptical soon.
