  • What are you having trouble with?
  • My experience (with Sainbury's) is that they package short-date items separately and the driver asks if I want to accept them. It's also written on the receipt. On the odd occasion where there's something wrong, such as a broken egg that I don't notice until putting the shopping away, their telephone customer service has…
  • I haven't tried Click and Collect yet, where you order and pay online and they shop for you and you collect it a couple of hours later (they bring it to your car), but I believe that's free too.
  • Sainsbury's. It's free delivery Mon-Thurs after 2 pm if you spend more than £100.
  • I've done my grocery shopping online for 10+ years. All the major supermarkets have the facility, and it's so much easier to add to my online basket as I remember things (or as people on MFP mention them!) and the list is ready when I do my monthly shop. I don't pay a delivery charge because once your order passes a…
  • If you're following the MFP method, yes you are supposed to eat back exercise calories. Bear in mind that some of the calorie amounts may be inflated - people seem to recommend eating back 50-75% of them. (When I say 'people', I mean 'people on MFP that know about this stuff'. Hopefully one will come along and explain…
  • Recommending an appropriate site for you is as supportive as I can be under the circumstances. I've never forgotten my age due to rushing, and Lord knows I've tried.
  • sparkteens.com will be more suitable for you. Not because you're "18", but because you forgot your age when you created your profile (it says you're 22), and most people don't have that confusion when they're being truthful.
  • Go to Progress (on the app) and delete the incorrect entry, and click the plus sign to add the correct entry. On the website, you can go to Check-In then Edit Previous Entries.
  • Nobody is going to recommend an unhealthy weight loss rate for you. Re-evaluate what you think you "need".
  • I'm inviting you to come here, just to plate my food up! Yours looks sooooo appetizing :-)
  • Burgen soya and linseed bread, Fage Greek yoghurt and baby leaf spinach are always on my shopping list. I shop at Sainsbury too, but get my meat from Lidl - Kangaroo steaks and Ostrich steaks are a current fave (low fat, so I can eat more!) Edit: I get Sainsbury's frozen blueberries too, useful for topping yoghurt or…
  • Scanning by bar code leads to one of the entries in the MFP database rather than a list of entries, but it's no guarantee that it's the correct one.
  • The scanner leads to the same MFP database as typing does, with the same possible errors.
  • I'm not sure about that, sorry (I don't use a fitbit).
  • You can ignore the water widget altogether and add your water to your diary as you would anything else. There are already entries available (search H2O) and you can add it as mls.
  • I've only recently learned that you can make perfect omelettes and pancakes in a toasted sandwich maker, so that's my new fave gadget (or rather, old gadget with new uses).
  • * Weigh (with a digital scale) everything you eat and log it. * Double-check the data for the entries you use on MFP against the packaging or an independent source, as some are incorrect. * Read the stickies at the top of the boards for great advice. * Don't eliminate anything unless a) you want to or b) you have medical…
  • I know nothing about gyms, but I know that a UK pint isn't the same as a US pint. It's one of the few things that are larger here (568 ml vs 473 ml).
  • On the web version, scroll to the bottom of your diary and under the water consumption section you'll see a green View Full Report (Printable) button.

  • I've got a Withings scale, and I use IFTTT scripts to send to Calendar, here's one for the Aria https://ifttt.com/recipes/273507-add-fitbit-aria-weight-to-your-google-calendar
  • My scale automatically logs it onto MFP, Health Mate and Trendweight, as well as sends it to my Google Calendar. Despite this, I have no idea how much I weigh unless I go and check LOL!
  • I'm not sure if you can do it via the app, but from a web browser go to Check-In then click Track Additional Measurements. Remove the ones you don't want by clicking delete next to them, and add the ones you do want by typing the name in the box and clicking Add Measurement.
  • I don't care if other people or fat or fit or somewhere in between. I'm certainly not invested enough to make sweeping judgements on their habits or personalities based on how they look.
  • There's a cat 100 metres from me to my left, and a dog 100 metres from me to my right. The cat isn't a dog, and the dog isn't a cat, but they are still both 100 metres away from me. I think I need to lie down with a gin-soaked rag now.
  • I use a wobbly cushion occasionally, as I have weak core strength due to a spinal cord illness. My physiotherapist suggested I use it for up to an hour a day - not because anything bad will happen but because it's very fatiguing for me to keep trying to sit upright (I fall to the right side and forward). It's nice and cool…
  • On the web version, click on Check-In. At the bottom there's a link to Edit Previous Entries.
  • Put the jar/bottle on the scale and zero it, then remove what you want to eat and weigh the jar/bottle again. The negative number is how much you've used (e.g if it says -15g you've had 15g).
  • We have serving sizes too, but the label still shows per 100g - for which I'm truly thankful, as maths isn't my strong suit ;-)
  • There's no overall weight of food you need to eat, but in order to get the most accurate estimation of calories you need to put the correct weight (and use the correct item) in the database for what you're eating. If you're in the UK all packaging will show the nutrition data per 100g (or per 100ml for liquid), so in your…
