I haven't noticed any judgement on bigger people, but then I'm not looking for it. I took the liberty of checking your posting history and can't see any judgement there either. Although this may all seem daunting to you, in time you'll realise (as many of us do!) that the very best advice we get here isn't sugar-coated to…

I'm not a believer in "bad" food, but alcohol leads me to make poor choices. It used to be in regards to men, but now it's regarding food. The former was much more fun than the latter.

I have 0% Greek yoghurt and 0.1% milk, so that I can have full-fat cheese. I don't notice the taste difference in the first two, but don't enjoy lower fat cheese.

I had a Jawbone Up3 briefly, and it gave me 'odd' results from arm movements. I didn't get angry, I didn't decide that my circumstances meant it wouldn't be more accurate for someone else, I didn't even leave a bad Amazon review ;-) I simply bought a tracker that clips onto my clothing (Withings Ox, which comes with a…

I had to have a follow-up HbA1c test this week, and was delighted to be told that they don't do them under fasting conditions anymore.
-
If you log them as a recipe (using the raw data from the package) and weigh the total amount, you will only need to weigh and log the amount you're eating on the day. Edit: You weigh the total amount when it's cooked.

Just to confirm, you are pressing "update profile" when you change your loss goal, aren't you? That leads to a page that will tell you exactly what MFP predicts your loss will be, and if it gives you 1200 (because that's the lowest amount) it will tell you how much loss that is per week. For example, if I choose 2lb per…

Hmmph, they could at least use Celebrity Big Potato! Once again, thanks everyone for your help (I realise I didn't respond to you all, but I read everything).
-
I might get a free potato as compensation ;-)
-
Not solved, as the label doesn't give the nutrition raw. I'm going to use the big potato data for now, but I've just emailed the store in case they can shed some light on this.
-
Ha! I know - they're delicious baked! Unfortunately they don't fit in with my plan from the dietician that way (it's a GL thing).
-
Yep, I think that's what I'll have to do, thanks :-)
-
I was comparing the data for both types boiled, not one raw and one boiled.
-
I know I'm clutching at straws now, but is it possible that the peel has less calories than the actual sweet potato, and thus fewer calories as a whole because there's more peel in 100g of mini ones?
-
Hehehe I guess I wanted someone to say "it's ok, you can keep smothering them in butter...look how few calories they are!" I'll use the full-sized potato data for now, thanks for your help :-)
-
That's what I'm worried about (that it's an error I mean). Asda's website doesn't have the mini ones listed, so I can't double check there.
-
Thanks, but that doesn't answer the question. The labels (and UK labels are much more reliable than US ones apparantly) gives different kcals per 100g boiled.

I have a small frame (with baby-like wrists), so I assume it's possible to have a large frame. I wouldn't use it as an excuse for weight though, although it's a little-known fact that I'm just short for my weight ;-)
-
Hahaha thanks, that's so much cleaner (geddit??!!??) than what I imagined ;-)
-
I want to know the missing words behind you!
-
I answered it in my head ;-)

I've only emboldened the parts that reflect my experiences too (the unbold bits are because I don't have kids).

I'd never heard of 'clean eating' until I joined MFP, but then again I don't move in health/fitness circles so I wouldn't know how prevalent it is within that context. When I read it here, I generally think of more traditional ways of cooking, like my mum used to do - cooking from scratch as it were. We never had what are…
-
I think it must be, because if I went to my local Sainsbury's and shopped the perimeter only I'll be eating Tu Clothing and ciggies.
-
I haven't had to do it yet, but there are instructions on importing here http://cachapa.net/?page_id=467

Nobody asks me how much I weigh, but if I want to say how much I've lost I have to look it up as I can't remember either number. Which is an long-winded way of saying that I use my last weight.
-
I'm trying to think of a circumstance where I would use 1tbsp of olive oil per serving, and coming up with nothing. I use 2tbsps when I batch cook sometimes, but that makes nearly 2.5kg of food so per serving it's negligible.
-
Until you weigh your food, you don't know how many calories you're eating. Whilst it's not an exact science, it's helpful to cut out as many variables as possible. So whilst you think you're eating 1200 cals based on your current methods, you may in fact be eating more - that's what people are trying to tell you.
-
It may be helpful for you to prepare some answers, in case anybody says anything in the future. Things like "I'm much fitter now" etc. My personal fave would be "it's 13lb, you wouldn't want it on the end of your nose as a wart"...but then I'm a bit odd like that ;-)

An alternative, and more accurate, method is to weigh the whole batch of soup in grammes, and make each gramme a serving. So if your soup weighs 500g you have 500 servings. Then, when you are adding it to your diary you just weigh your serving and put that weight as the number of servings.
