I keep hoping this thread is going to be like Never Seen Star Wars, but as it isn't I'll just say that Tim Hortons is apparently coming to the UK next year.

That was Angus Barbieri, he ate nothing for over a year.

(Hint: You don't get to do that)

I'm not sure what you want to debate, unless you're telling me what *my* focus should be?

Oh I've got a theory on that, based on nothing scientific whatsoever! My theory is that more of us have the means to overeat. We have easy access to foods and the pounds/dollars in our pocket to buy it. Couple that with my other non-scientific theory that we all think we have the "right" to do things (but seldom take the…

With huuuge thanks to @GottaBurnEmAll for mentioning it, I finally got an airpopper so I'm going to recommend popcorn! 182kcals for 50g of kernels, and I spray some 1 kcal buttery type thing on it.

As stated above, Chickenpox vaccine is made from live virus. In the UK the chickenpox vaccine is only given based on clinical need, i.e it's not normally given. The best way to get immunity from chickenpox as an adult is to contract it as a child. When I was a child we would have Pox Parties if someone had it, so that we'd…

I can't find that particular sandwich on there, but Greggs have a nutrition sheet here https://greggs.co.uk/nutrition if ever you need it again. I found a chicken and bacon toastie, but that included cheese (and is 277 kcals). The sweet potato entry that you use is in the database, did you add it there for everyone to use?…

UK pint is 568ml, so I'm going with Catt's phrase!

Edena, you're putting up obstacles that may make perfect sense to you (I've done that too when I've not been committed to something) but don't to everyone else. No, you won't get to see a nutritionist via a GP. You may, however, be referred to a Registered Dietitian. It's total nonsense to say it's only under "extreme…

I'm in London. Anyway, your doctor will see you because a) he/she is your doctor, b) they won't know why you're going until you're in the surgery (you don't have to tell them when booking, despite them asking) and c) you're not going about "diet", you're going about disordered thinking.
-
We use both terms here (UK) too ;-)
-
Your doctor won't see you? Change your doctor.

I wasn't sure if I'd misread it once I read your post - thankfully the OP came back to confirm whilst I was typing!

I love butternut squash! I buy it ready-prepped and roast it. Sometimes I use the roasted squash for soup, sometimes I use it as a side dish. My dog likes it too, and it's cheaper than pumpkin (her other love).

Your typo goes so well with your avatar, it actually made me laugh! :-)
-
I read the OP as saying that he/she would have that much for one meal, not that they can't reach it.
-
I can't relate to your situation, but when I'm in a stressful situation I ask myself what would I advise a good friend to do? And then I do that! Be your own good friend.

If chocolate was more nutritious I'd have been ok ;-) I didn't actually eat meals often, but I could happily eat chocolate and cheese all day.
-
No, I ate too many calories but very little food. Everything I ate was high calorie/low volume, whereas now I mix that up with high volume/low calorie.
-
When we're talking about measuring food for logging purposes, volume doesn't matter if we use scales. Volume absolutely does when it comes to how much is on our plates or that we can eat at one sitting though, and high volume/low calorie foods can leave people feeling full without reaching their targets. I'm living proof…

I haven't had a problem hitting my calorie target, but I ate a lot less food when I was putting on weight than I do now I'm losing weight. The difference is, my previous intake was much much much more calorie dense than my current intake, so it didn't take a lot in terms of volume for my CI to be more than my CO. I can see…

You're welcome! Mine do exactly as you're asking - they give me exercises that are tailored to my limitations. Good luck!
-
My physio team don't work like that. They're not there to make me into an athlete, their job is to teach me strategies keep me as mobile as possible and to limit other damage. Having said that, you may find it useful to ask them whether or not you should push through pain whilst doing the recommended exercises, and if you…

Probably some time in the 70s. I often used to sprint for a bus before I discovered 6 inch heels. And taxis ;-)

This. I had the same issue with a cake the other week, so I looked up some data from store cakes (even though mine wasn't from a store) and picked the most calorific one. (At least, that's what I did for the first slice...)

When I'm Queen of The World, you'll be pleased to know I'm not going to change this, because I like that we're not all the same (not saying I'd want to hang out with some of the people that have different ways, but I'm glad that they are comfortable with expressing them...mainly so that I know who to avoid).
-
Kudos to you for empowering your daughter!
-
My point is, I wouldn't be offended.

I've never found anything a stranger said to be insulting, no. I make the choice not to give them the power. I've never found anything a friend said insulting, although sometimes they are frustrating (as am I to them!) but we talk it out.
