I don't find anything insulting. I find it much healthier for me not to do the blame/victim thing at all, so fault doesn't come into it. Edited to explain further: I'm not saying that bad things or bad situations don't happen, I just find that dealing with it is better than just whining that it happened.

I blame the clocks changing, because it's all about blaming something/someone else ;-)

I don't think I read or commented on that thread, but if I did I've forgotten it so what I'm about to say is an observation based just on what you've said in this thread. Do you realise that you're condemning people for reading into things you've said whilst reading things into things they've said? You're assigning motives…

I don't weigh or log my food over Christmas. I'm not going to refuse any hospitality or temper hospitality I give (although this year I'm not hosting; I'm going to a hotel for the Christmas period). Relaxing with family and friends trumps dieting for these few days. I've got 51 weeks of the year to adhere to my diet, that…

I used to have the flu jab every year because I did voluntary work with at-risk people. I now have the flu jab every year because I'm an at-risk person.

I've read the OP and the responses several times, and I'm still not getting it. This may be because I don't understand why it's a comparison between two people - I have enough difficulty not comparing myself (now) to myself (before), without thinking about what anyone else is doing better or worse than me (either me!) -…

I update mine manually. I don't know if you'll have the same appetite, but if you lose weight you won't have the same energy needs for the same activities.
-
I've never made or had it (it looks yummy though!) but here's a recipe that uses 50g of butter and serves four http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/pastaprimavera_86310

I wouldn't recommend the blended pork chop, roast potatoes and broccoli <gags>
-
Oh I agree, I quoted you because I wanted to share it with OP in case she's perhaps thinking that blended food isn't as calorific.
-
Haha the cake was delish! My friend made it and it was massive so I didn't want to miss out - I blended it with a little orange juice. And yes to smashed teacakes, that's how you peel the choc off!
-
Ooops! Maybe we're both the exceptions that prove the rule! I lived at home on and off, other than when I worked in the US, until I got married at 25, but all my friends left home at 17/18!
-
Are you still living at home? If so, and you're not happy with the arrangement, consider living elsewhere (I think this might be a cultural thing, people in the US seem to stay living with their parents a lot longer than we do).

I haven't been able to eat for a month now due to surgery, and have put on 7lb. However, by "eat" I mean "chew proper food". I've had wayyyyyy over my calories by putting things into the blender and sucking it through a straw! I've kinda used my surgery as an excuse to feel sorry for myself and have blended all sorts of…

Hehehe we lived life in the fast lane, choccie heads didn't scare us!

The ones we had at school didn't have foil, we were too poor for such luxuries ;-) Actually, this has made me realise how eating styles have changed over the years. Our snacks at school consisted of a teacake, a packet of Puffs (like Wotsits, but less orangey) and a small carton of juice. We never had snacks at home and I…

And I want a Wagon Wheel :-(

Unless you're happy to accept sympathyshags, you're going to have to work on your confidence. Every day, find something new to like about yourself. Even if you can't find something (and I guarantee there is something likeable about you, even if you can't find it yet), fake it until you make it.
-
Even at my age, I still can't eat a Tunnock's Teacake without smashing it on my forehead first  Edit for context: We used to do that in primary school, and I think most people stopped then!

All those things may be making you healthier, but losing weight requires a calorie deficit. Weigh your food as meticulously as you weigh your body, choose database entries that are accurate, and keep within your allocated calorie amount.
-
If ultra low carb suits you and your goals, go for it. If it doesn't suit you but everyone around you is telling you to do it, stand somewhere else.

I don't like good quality chocolate, but as a mark of my dedication to the cheap stuff I put FRs and milk into a blender last week (I'm still on a liquified diet due to neurosurgery last month, during which they damaged my masseter muscle so I can't grind food in my mouth yet). For other lovers of cheap chocs I can…

Oh yes it does!

Weigh everything, including your bagel. I seldom get things that weigh exactly xx5 or xx0, but many of your items do, are you weighing those or taking the value from a packet?
-
Halloween/trick or treat is a fairly recent thing here, in fact it's only my foreign neighbours that do it (we're more Penny For The Guy in the UK, and that's on the wane and not done door-to-door). I've bought chocs for the last two years but this year they're having tangerines so the leftovers aren't so tempting for me!
-
Had to do it

It's 113kcal per 100g cooked weight (cooked as per instructions on pack).
-
It's week 1 and you've lost 1lb. What was the problem?

@dawnwarcup28 Hi, I'm writing this post because I used to be you. I used to think that the less I ate, the better/faster my weight loss would be. I used to think that I felt ok, so therefore I was ok. I used to think it's only for a short while, and lots of other people do it, so it will be fine. I used to think that…

I don't know that brand of squash, but a comparable one (Robinsons Orange Squash) is 4 kcal per 250ml diluted, so I'd say yours is probably 2 kcal per 100ml diluted.
